21.04.06 – By Ike Enwereuzor: WBO Intercontinential Super Middleweight Champion Lolenga “The Leopard” Mock of Kinshasa Congo (25-9 9KO’s) , now fighting out of Denmark, will collide with unbeaten Romanian WBC Continential Super Middleweight Champion, Lucian “Le Tombeur” Bute (16-0 15KO’s) on May 16, 2006 at Bell Center. Mock is ranked No.7 by WBA and WBO while Bute is undefeated and ranked No.8 by WBC..
In his last fight on March 24, 2006, Bute won a 12 round unanimous decision over Andre Thysse. This was his first fight to ever to go to the distance, his first 15 fights all ended in KO or TKO. Bute has wins over former champion Dingaan Thobela, “Egyptian Magic” Kabary Salem, Donnell Wiggins, Donnie McCrary, Christian Cruz and among others. This fight against Lolenga Mock will be a big test for Bute.
“I want you to tell Lucian Bute that I’m coming to kick ass” said Mock, I have been waiting for thi kind of fight so I can prove myself to the world, his record don’t mean nothing”.
Mock has shown a lot of improvement in his last fights with wins over former world champion Charles Brewer and Giovanni Alvarez. In his last fight, he defended his WBO Intercontinenial title against Russian Yuri Tsarenko, a tough 12 round fight in November 2006. He also has controversal losses to Mario Veit, Malik Dziarra, David Haye and Kai Kurzawa.
