Danny Williams: Audley Victory Will Be Sweeter Than Tyson Win

27.10.05 – Danny Williams reckons beating up Audley Harrison will be sweeter than knocking-out Mike Tyson. The Brixton puncher takes on Harrison at the ExCeL London on Saturday 10 December in the biggest all-British heavyweight clash since Lennox Lewis-Frank Bruno 12 years ago. Dynamite Dan shocked the world when he flattened former undisputed king Tyson last July in Louisville to earn a shot a WBC king Vitali Klitschko which he lost despite a brave performance.

Williams maintains that his victory over Tyson ranks as the highlight of his career but that will be topped by sparking out his mouthy rival.

“I’m feeling mean and moody about this fight which is exactly the same way as I did in the build up to the fight against Tyson,” said Williams.

He added, “I can honestly say knocking out Audley will be the sweetest moment of my career,”

“Audley’s been talking the fight up well but remember that’s all he can do – talk,”

“Everytime I go out for a walk or go running people in the street beg me to knock Audley out once and for all and send him back to America,”

“He hasn’t backed up any of his boast when he turned pro like becoming British champion tomorrow – a comment I found disrespectful as at the time I was the champion,”

“Now he’s talking about beating me as if I’m not here,”

“He can talk as much as he likes because this fight isn’t going the distance – trust me,”

“There’s a lot of grudge in this fight because me and Audley have got history so I can’t wait for December 10 when I can get in there and smash him up,”

He finished by saying, “I will prove to the British public that Audley was a pretender not a contender all along.”
