Adrian Mora: “Stop running, Mighty Mike!”

29.03.05 – By Chris Morris, RockyMountainBoxing.com: Denver-based Jr. Welterweight Adrian Mora (12-0-1) was quite surprised to hear some of the recent comments uttered by NABO champion “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis, particularily the comments that pertained to fellow Denver jr. welterweight, Donald Camarena. Arnaoutis claims that Camarena is ‘running scared’..

Arnaoutis’ management claims to have been in contact with Oscar Diaz’s people and they are trying to outprice themselves. We’ve tried to schedule a fight with David Diaz but he doesn’t want to fight. We’re also talking to Donald Camarena’s people, but he’s acting like a man that is running scared. He’s okay when he’s fighting in Denver, Colorado but he doesn’t want to step up to the plate and see what he’s really got.”

“I have tried three different times to land ShoBox bouts with Arnaoutis” claims Mora. “I was working with a promoter to land the fight and he told me that Arnaoutis said I was ‘too tall’. Arnaoutis is 5′ 10”, come on, what’s a couple of inches? He is used to having the height and reach advantage, he knows that’s gone against me. The next time I tried to get a bout with Arnaoutis it was that they were ‘looking for a veteran, with 20-30 fights’. I’ve beaten that type of veteran in Steve Quinonez. Skip the tune up and fight the real prospects. Before Arnaoutis goes talking about Colorado fighters running scared, they should check their own history and
see who they have been avoiding from Colorado. Bottom line is, they should give me a shot.”

Adrian Mora wants to let Team Arnaoutis know that he is available and ready to take the May 20th fight with Mike Arnaoutis. “I’m looking for a quality opponent, he’s looking for a quality fight. Seems like a perfect fit. Send the contract, I’m waiting with pen in hand” said Mora.
