Sanchez-Zayas Headlines Friday’s “CMX Boxeo De Campeones!”


01.12.04 – Now into its sixth full month of production, “CMX Boxeo de Campeones”– presented by CMXsports and promoted by Guilty Boxing — returns THIS FRIDAY! December 3, LIVE from El Foro in Tijuana, Mexico. There will be no love lost when Tijuana crosstown rivals SERGIO SANCHEZ, 16-15-5 (5 KOs), and GERARDO JESUS ZAYAS, 22-9 (16 KOs), rumble in the 10-round featherweight main event to detrmine the city’s best little big man, once and for all! The co-main event will feature JESUS RIOS, 18-1 (16 KOs), from Sinola, Mexico, in a 10-round bantamweight brawl against FRANCISCO PAREDES, 12-9 (11 KOs), from Mexico City.

Boxing fans from around the world can catch all the action via a live internet stream, and access the replay, at for a monthly subscription fee of just $4.95. The series airs every Friday night, beginning at 11 P.M. ET / 8 P.M. PT. Subscribers will also be able to access archived fight footage and get behind-the-scenes interviews, previews and articles. The broadcasts will be available in English and Spanish. Newly elected World Boxing Hall of Fame induct, “The Colonel” Bob Sheridan, a veteran of more than 750 world title broadcasts, and former NFL All-Pro kicker and veteran sports announcer Benny Ricardo, will be handling the English broadcast’s — “CMX Champions of Boxing” — blow-by-blow and color commentary, respectively. The Spanish language feed of the broadcast will feature former five-time world champion Manuel Medina providing the color commentary to Roberto Sosa’s blow-by-blow .

“CMX Champions of Boxing” is also televised on BEN Television, a free to air channel that covers all-over the Great Britain and Ireland markets and reaches more than seven million homes on the BSKYB platform on channel 184 Electronic Programme Guide in the UK alone. BEN Television also reaches out to Western Europe and North Africa collectively reaching more than 30 million satellite accessible digital homes.

“They don’t call me ‘zero’ for nothing,” said Sanchez. “I will be laying goose eggs and lumps all over Zayas’ head. This town isn’t big enough for the both of use and he will learn that fact the hard way Friday night!”

The seven-bout undercard will feature SIX undefeated Mexican warriors risking their unblemished records as they attempt to step up to the next level, including Alejandro Juarez, 10-0 (8 KOs), from Tijuana and Cesar Ibarra, 6-0 (5 KOs), from Sonora, in a six-round welterweight bout.

CMXsports and Guilty Boxing will produce 48 two-hour shows a year over a three-year period with two cards each month emanating from Las Vegas –The Orleans Hotel & Casino and the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino. The remaining two shows per month will be broadcast from different locations, including, southern California and Mexico. Recent shows have emanated from Las Pulgas Club and the larger El Foro in Tijuana, Mexico.
