Lennox Lewis, Wright, Savarese, McCline on “The Jury”

13.07.04 – No punches are pulled as real-life boxing contenders Lennox Lewis, Ronald “Winky” Wright, Lou Savarese and Jameel McCline; award-winning actor Andre Braugher (“Homicide: Life on the Street”); and fan favorite David Eigenberg (“Sex and the City”) guest-star in a knockout installment of THE JURY.

In the episode, fictional heavyweight boxer Michael Gallery (Chance Kelly) is on trial for the murder of his manager, Nicholas Dunphy (Richard Bright). That the two had a contentious relationship is beyond a shadow of a doubt, but was Gallery’s lack of fight money and shot at the title enough to want Dunphy dead? The jury will have to decide on “The Boxer” episode of THE JURY, airing Friday, July 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

In a cameo as himself, former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Lewis takes the stand against Gallery in the courtroom of THE JURY. Presiding over the case is no-nonsense Judge Loren Price, played by Emmy Award winner Braugher, who starred as Detective Frank Pembleton for six seasons on “Homicide: Life on the Street” for THE JURY Executive Producers Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson. Braugher makes the first of two guest appearances as Judge Price on “The Boxer” episode. Joining Lewis and Braugher is Eigenberg, who guest-stars as an outspoken and opinionated juror who goes 10 rounds with his peers.

THE JURY, set in New York City, takes a look at criminal cases from the jury’s point of view and stars Shalom Harlow, Billy Burke, Anna Friel, Jeff Hephner, Adam Busch, Cote de Pablo and Executive Producer Barry Levinson in the role of the judge. The series brings the viewer right into the jury room to watch the deliberators shout, beg, squirm, persuade, vote, then vote again until they reach a verdict in each gripping case, offering a glimpse into a world rarely depicted on television.

THE JURY is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and was created by James Yoshimura, Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson. Fontana, Levinson, Jim Finnerty and Yoshimura are also executive producers.
