Ovill McKenzie retires

Former British, Commonwealth and WBA Continental Cruiserweight Champion Ovill McKenzie has pulled the curtain on a glittering career after being diagnosed with a heart condition.

Derby-based McKenzie won 25 of his 38 professional bouts, with 13 coming by knockout.

Trained by Martin Bowers at Canning Town’s famous Peacock Gym, McKenzie came within touching distance of winning World honours – at 11 days notice – when he controversially drew to Argentina’s Victor Emilio Ramirez in a challenge for the IBF World Cruiserweight title in Buenos Aires in October 2015.

Khan ready to fight Pacquiao

Amir Khan says it would be an ‘honor’ to fight Manny Pacquiao after the Filipino superstar said he would be open to the match-up.

Eight-weight champion Pacquiao was speaking ahead of his eagerly anticipated world title clash with Jessie Vargas this Saturday night, exclusively live on BoxNation.

Anthony Joshua-Eric Molina card has already sold 15,000 tickets, another AJ sell-out extremely likely

It’s either down to the sheer star-power of IBF heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua, or it’s down to the Dec 10 card in Manchester being a pretty stacked one, but 15,000 tickets have already been sold for the card that will be topped by Joshua’s second title defence against dangerously determined challenger Eric Molina.

The two stars of the main event met today at a press conference and, unlike Dereck Chisora and Dillian Whyte who met yesterday, both men had nothing but respect for each other. Joshua said he is anticipating a “game” Molina, while the 34-year-old Mexican/American said he is aiming to “take what Joshua has,” and that, “I can win the fight with one punch at any given moment.”

Whyte, Chisora separated by security as gloves are off filming stopped

Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora had to be separated by security and filming was halted at Sky Sports studios this evening as they faced-off in the ‘Gloves Are Off’ ahead of their WBC World Heavyweight title eliminator at the Manchester Arena on December 10, live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and on SHOWTIME in the US.

The bitter London rivals sat face-to-face for 22 tension-filled minutes of filming with Johnny Nelson the man in the middle, before Whyte accused Chisora of ducking a clash with Anthony Joshua – lighting the fuse for the pair to leap to their feet, leading to security stepping in and filming ending.
