A defiant sounding WBO junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (41-5, 33 KOs) has bristled with the repeated criticism from the boxing media for him selecting what many consider a soft touch in welterweight Sadam Ali (25-1, 14 KOs) to end his career on with the two of them fighting on HBO tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York.
David Price back in action tonight
David Price believes he is in peak condition ahead of his comeback this weekend at the Brentwood Centre on MTK Global’s ‘Pride & Glory’ fight bill.
Liverpool heavyweight Price (21-4, 18KO) returns to the ring on Saturday night as he headlines an action-packed card, which will be streamed live on iFL TV (via this link from 6pm).

Miguel Angel Cotto: Show Some Respect
This Saturday night live on HBO, Miguel Cotto takes a final bow at his home away from home, Madison Square Garden, in New York City. The Puerto Rican faithful will get a chance to see their legend one last time. His opponent, an odd choice in Sadam Ali, should be just what the doctor ordered for Cotto to walk away in the sunset. Beyond a few of the early rounds when Ali’s speed and movement could be effective, this should be a fairly easy victory for Miguel.
To be fair Golden Boy Promotions attempted to secure a tougher task but failed when they attached future options on Mikey Garcia and Errol Spence. Jessie Vargas claimed the money wasn’t right it’s also rumored Danny Garcia refused the offer as well. And since we’re being fair, it’s fair to say they could have tried someone in the deep and talented junior middleweight.
David Price returns to action tomorrow night, not ready to call it quits yet
“If I’m going out I need to go out knowing I’ve put everything into training”
David Price, 21-3-0-1(18) is ready to give it yet one more go. Last seen losing to Christian Hammer in February of this year – Price scoring an early-rounds knockdown before being stopped in the seventh-round – the giant from Liverpool will face little-known Kamil Sokolowski in Essex tomorrow night.
Miguel Cotto fights Sadam Ali on Sat. on BoxNation
Boxing legend Miguel Cotto has vowed to go out with a bang as he enters the ring for the final time this Saturday night. The future Hall-of-Famer who has won world titles in four different divisions will fight for the last time against 2008 Olympian Sadam Ali, exclusively live on BoxNation.
Taking place at the iconic Madison Square Garden, for what will be the 10th time Cotto has fought there, the Puerto Rican superstar has been reflecting on his glorious career and promised one last big performance before hanging up the gloves.
Luis Ortiz gets benefit of the doubt from WBC, still allowed to fight for the title despite failed drugs test
It seems there is a chance, if a small one, that we could still see Deontay Wilder defend his WBC heavyweight crown against Cuban Luis Ortiz. As fans know full well, Ortiz tested positive for a banned substance shortly before his scheduled November 4 challenge of Wilder, the fight being scrapped – much to the annoyance of Wilder, who saw yet another big fight/payday crumble due to no fault of his own.
Lomachenko quotes for December 9 fight vs Rigondeaux
BOB ARUM: This is a conference call with the greatest fighter since Muhammad Ali. A guy that I can’t wait to see in a historic fight that has never happened before – in each corner a fighter having two Gold Medals. This is an historic battle and it’s going to be one of many historic battles for Vasyl Lomachenko who I have said from the beginning he is the best fighter I have seen since the early Muhammad Ali.
VASYL LOMACHENKO: I would like to thank everyone who is participating in this call. This is the first time I am going to be talking in two months about the fight. Yesterday was my media workout day and I am very happy to talk to the media about this bout.
