Hughie Fury confirms he is in talks with Deontay Wilder, is confident he can beat him

It seems there is a pretty good chance we could see a Wilder-Fury fight next year after all: Wilder Vs. Hughie Fury. With big Tyson out of the way due to well-documented problems, it could be up to cousin Hughie, himself a big guy, to face the reigning WBC heavyweight king. Speaking with The Mirror, the unbeaten contender confirmed how his team are currently in talks with Wilder over a possible March fight.

And Hughie, who claims he was offered “silly money” to fight IBF heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua – turning down the poor offer – is convinced he has what it takes to defeat Wilder.

“Ruiz has the fastest hands since Ali,” Hughie Fury ready to “take all these champions,” Scott is “a Bentley who can outbox Ortiz”

Today’s heavyweight division may be plenty muddled as far as the man on the street knowing who the world champion is goes (we could soon have as many as six champs, all of them holding a belt of some kind) – but there is no shortage of action.

Hughie Fury says he'll one day do to Joshua what Ali did to Foreman

Unbeaten heavyweight star Hughie Lewis Fury believes a potential rumble with IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua would bear a striking similarity to the night Muhammad Ali bemused and broke George Foreman in Zaire in 1974.

Twenty-one-year-old Fury, set for a tune-up bout on July 9 in Manchester, is currently recovering from illness, but, once back to full fitness, has his sights set on returning Joshua’s IBF title to the Fury family.

Hughie Fury says he and Tyson will rule the heavyweights for a long time, “like the remarkable Klitschkos”

Hughie Fury says he and Tyson will rule the heavyweights for a long time, “like the remarkable Klitschkos”

Though he has often been overly critical of the Klitschko brothers, Wladimir especially, deep down Tyson Fury respects both men as great champions. The trash-talk is back in full force right now, as is to be expected as Fury is getting ready to square off with Wladimir for a second time in his first title defence; so don’t expect any kind words from Tyson when he speaks about Klitschko. But Hughie Fury, Tyson’s cousin – who has never taken to the art of trash-talking the way Tyson has – has lots of respect for the Klitschko brothers and he isn’t afraid to say so.
