All eyes will be on returning former heavyweight king Tyson Fury next year; providing of course he is granted a licence in January, as is widely expected will be the case. As fans know, the unbeaten 29 year old has been cleared by UKAD to fight on and Fury has been working hard in the gym; appearing to have lost a substantial amount of weight already.

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum gives Joseph Parker “a hell of a chance” in fight with Anthony Joshua
Top Rank boss Bob Arum is a whole lot more optimistic than a number of other people are when it comes to an Anthony Joshua-Joseph Parker heavyweight unification fight taking place soon. Arum, speaking with The Los Angeles Times when going through the early 2018 schedule of fights to go out on ESPN, said he feels the fight will get done once the two sides agree over the purse split (a scenario Arum says he feels will indeed unfold – “with a little tugging and so forth.”)
Anthony Joshua unhappy with Joseph Parker’s attitude: This is the first time in my career where the talk has been about money
Right now we are seemingly no closer to seeing a deal made for a fight between rival heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker. As fans know, Parker and his team have been going all-out to try and get the fight made; even hosting a quite bizarre press conference where video was shown of Joshua suffering knockdowns at both amateur and pro level.
Joshua-Parker negotiations still stalled
WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker’s promoter David Higgins says IBF/WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn is still quibbling over a few percentage points in the negotiations for a fight in early in 2018.
Joshua vs Povetkin fight could be closer than you may think
Might we see an Anthony Joshua-Alexander Povetkin fight next year some time? This particular match-up, one that seemed to have virtually no chance of happening a while back, in light of the Russian star’s failed drugs test, could be closer than you may think.
As Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn explained to Sky Sports, he will be having a meeting with WBA president Gilberto Mendoza soon, and one of the topics for conversation will be AJ’s new WBA mandatory challenger. Luis Ortiz may be back in business with the WBC, but he is still no longer the WBA mandatory. Hearn is waiting to see who will take “King Kong’s” place:
Ricky Hatton says Tyson Fury beats Anthony Joshua: I think he stands him on his head
British legend Ricky Hatton has been watching former heavyweight king Tyson Fury up close and personal. Training for his planned 2018 ring return at Hatton’s gym, Fury has, according to “The Hitman” who spoke with The Manchester Evening News, been displaying impressive hand and foot speed.
Joseph Parker going all-out to get Anthony Joshua fight; offers rematch clause
WBO heavyweight champ Joseph Parker really does seem to be doing all he can do to make the unification showdown with WBA and IBF ruler Anthony Joshua. The unbeaten New Zealand warrior has offered to take a 35-percent split of the fight purse, to Joshua’s 65-percent, and now Parker has proposed the placing of a rematch clause in the contract.
“@AnthonyJoshua, doesn’t a 65-35% between two unbeaten champions sound fair? Nearly double our share. Don’t worry a rematch clause is there in case you’re worries about your chin. #NoExcusesNow #NeverBeenDropped,” Parker wrote on twitter a while ago.
Anthony Joshua-Joseph Parker fight “close,” Hearn says he’s hopeful for next spring
It’s looking quite likely how rival heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker could meet next spring. As fans may be aware, WBO champ Parker and his team have pressed very hard for a unification fight with Joshua, the WBA/IBF ruler – this week holding a quite bizarre press conference where footage was shown of AJ being troubled and knocked down in fights; a “reward” offered to anyone with video evidence of Parker being decked at any time – and it seems Joshua has bitten.
James Toney arrives in UK for “exhibition bout,” gives his take on Joshua and Wilder
All-time great James Toney has seen it all, done it all and he’s fought ’em all, yet he’s still trying to keep on keeping on. Here in the UK on business – Toney will fight 2-0 light-heavyweight Sam Pomphrey in Bristol on Saturday night in what is either an exhibition bout or a white collar fight, depending on the way things go ahead on Saturday – and Sky Sports caught up with him.
Video: Who is the best heavyweight? Joshua, Wilder, or Fury?

The heavyweight division has started to become interesting again. And there are three heavyweights in particular that have a lot of fans talking. We have unified IBF/WBA world champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs). Then we have WBC heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs). And off the radar, but perhaps back in the picture, we have the man who ended Wladimir Klitschko’s long streak of dominance, Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs).
