Fans are waiting for the big, four-belt heavyweight unification clash between WBA/IBF/WBO champ Oleksandr Usyk and current WBC boss Tyson Fury, with the fight supposed to be in negotiations for February or March of next year.
It’s too early to get excited, but in terms of a heavyweight unification clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury getting done, things seem to be going well.
WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has again called for a unification fight with reigning WBC champ Tyson Fury, and the 35 year old southpaw has said he would very much like the fight to take place in his homeland of Ukraine.
Tyson Fury says he will “put my fist right through” Oleksandr Usyk when the two fight. Usyk says Fury is “scared of me” and that Fury doesn’t really want to fight him.
Oleksandr Usyk’s assistant coach Sergey Lapin rumbles on about who Usyk could fight next. Lapin said:
Oleksandr Usyk has recovered from the Joshua fight and is ready for cowardly Tyson Fury to fight him
“Usyk has already recovered from the fight with Anthony Joshua, he’s keeping himself in shape and is currently engaged in charity work.
If any fight fan is willing to give Tyson Fury a pass for fighting Derek Chisora next, it’s likely he or she is willing to do so because it is understood Fury will next fight Oleksandr Usyk.
