ALL ACCESS: Mayweather vs. Canelo – Video

NEW YORK (Aug. 22, 2013) – Following the SHOWTIME premiere of each episode of the acclaimed documentary series ALL ACCESS: Mayweather vs. Canelo—series premieres this Saturday at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on SHOWTIME—full episodes will be made available online and across multiple platforms leading up to the boxing event of the year, “THE ONE: Mayweather vs. Canelo” on Saturday, September 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, live on SHOWTIME PPV®.

Thank you very much and thank you all media members to be on the call, thank you to both fighters to be on the call. I remember a couple years ago we did a card called Action Heroes and then we, of course, just had another one a few weeks ago, Knockout Kings 2 and I think this card here from the Stub Hub Center would certainly fit perfectly into either one of those cards. Because one thing, which is for sure, that night, on Saturday night the 24th of August from Stub Hub Center, fists will fly, it will be heavy action and it’s going to be a tremendous night of boxing again.

NEW YORK (August 15, 2013) – SHOWTIME Sports will offer the latest chapter of its award winning original documentary series ALL ACCESS in advance of the boxing event of the year – “THE ONE: Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez”. ALL ACCESS: Mayweather vs. Canelo will take viewers into the dramatic and often unpredictable lives of the two superstars at the epicenter of one of the biggest sporting events of the year. The series premieres Saturday, Aug. 24 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on SHOWTIME, preceding the live SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING event headlined by Abner Mares vs. Jhonny Gonzalez.

Jesus “Renuente” Soto Karass knocked out Andre Berto, Keith Thurman was dubbed Knockout King, but Omar Figueroa and Nihito Arakawa stole the show Saturday night on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING.

Soto Karass scored a 12th round technical knockout victory over a remarkably resilient Berto in front of 8,811 fans in the main event on SHOWTIME at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

In an event dubbed Knockout Kings II, Soto Karass came out of the gate strong, establishing and displaying his power against Berto, who injured his right shoulder in the early rounds of the fight and was essentially limited to his left hand for the majority of the bout.

In a 10-round main event, Alabama’s Wilder puts his perfect 28-0 record on the line against former Heavyweight World Champion Sergei Liakhovich. In the co-featured bouts, unbeaten lightweights Francisco Vargas of Mexico and Cincinnati’s Brandon Bennett meet in a 10-round match-up and Houston’s undefeated Jermall Charlo risks his unblemished record against Miami veteran Antwone Smith in a 10-round junior middleweight bout.

002MolinavsBeyIMG_5973LAS VEGAS (July 20, 2013) – Power-punching John Molina (26-3, 21 KO’s), of Covina, Calif., stormed back from the brink of absolute defeat to dramatically knock out previously unbeaten Mickey Bey (18-1-1, 9 KO’s), of Las Vegas by way of Cleveland, Ohio, at 2:01 of the 10th and final round of their lightweight fight Friday in the main event on ShoBox: The New Generation live on SHOWTIME® from The Joint At Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

In the co-feature, Sweden’s Badou Jack (15-0, 10 KO’s), of Las Vegas, remained undefeated by registering a lopsided 10-round unanimous decision over Farah Ennis (21-2, 12 KO’s), of Philadelphia, in a super middleweight scrap. Jack won by the scores of 100-90 and 98-92 twice.

Tempers didn’t exactly flare between Floyd Mayweather, Canelo Alvarez and their camps during the lively festivities that included loud music, a mariachi band and colorful streamers shot into the air, but, for the first time during the enormously successful nine-day, 10-city tour, the respective teams were less than completely complimentary of each other on stage.

Mayweather(Photo credit: Esther Lin/Showtime) DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS (July 1, 2013) – Fans remained the biggest winners as “THE ONE: MAYWEATHER VS. CANELO” press tour continued Monday with two stops in Texas.

In Houston, a couple hundred fans began lining up at 3:00 a.m. for a press conference that started at 1:00 p.m. By the time the press conference officially commenced at Union Station At Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros, an overflow crowd of over 1,000 fans had filled the stadium’s grand lobby to beyond capacity.
