Arreola: I’d rather fight Fury than Deontay Wilder

#2 WBC Chris Arreola (36-3, 31 KO’s) could find himself facing unbeaten knockout artist #3 WBC Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) before the end of the year if Arreola is able to get past #1 WBC Bermane Stiverne (23-1-1, 20 KO’s) in their rematch on May 10th at the Galen Center, in Los Angeles, California, USA.

The Arreola-Stiverne 2 fight will be for the vacant WBC title that was recently vacated by long-time champion Vitali Klitschko. If Arreola beats Stiverne, he says he would prefer to fight the unbeaten British heavyweight Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) rather than the 6’7” Deontay, because he feels that Fury is more accomplished and has the much bigger fan base. Tyson Fury could beat Dereck Chisora right now according to his trainer and uncle Peter even though the fight is still 16 weeks away.

The bitter rivals collide in the biggest domestic heavyweight rematch in recent years at the Phones 4 U Arena in Manchester on Saturday 26th July, with the winner getting a shot at WBO World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko and the European and Vacant British titles are also on the line.

But Peter insists he’d have no problem letting Tyson loose on Chisora right now. Continue reading

Fury Looking To Make History And Become First World Champion Traveller

Tyson Fury says it’s case of who gets to the world title first between him and Billy Joe Saunders as to who becomes the first world champion from the travelling community.

The Wilmslow heavyweight was in Newcastle on Saturday to watch fellow traveller Martin Ward challenge for Stuart Hall’s IBF World Bantamweight title and if he would achieve the feat, but the fight ended in a technical draw after a clash of heads in the first round resulting in Ward receiving a bad cut under his right eye and the referee calling a halt in the second round.

Now Fury has his eye on creating history and is only one fight away from a shot at WBO World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko if he can get past big-hitting rival Dereck Chisora on Saturday 26th July at the Phone 4 U Arena in Manchester in their Final Eliminator showdown. Continue reading

Tyson Fury Erupts At Press Conference

Tyson Fury erupted at today’s press conference in Manchester with rival Dereck Chisora as the volatile heavyweights came face-to-face in the city where the big grudge fight will take place.

Chisora and Fury collide in a Final Eliminator for the WBO World Heavyweight title, with the Vacant British title on the line and also Chisora’s European belt, at the Phones 4 U Arena on Saturday 26th July.

Both met head-to-head on Monday in London where they engaged in a war of words, but if today’s events are anything to go by, the big summer showdown could be the most explosive all-British heavyweight scrap in recent years.

Londoner Chisora kept Fury waiting on the top table turning up well after the official start time and casually strolling in which, no doubt, infuriated the Manchester giant. Continue reading

Tyson Fury-Dereck Chisora II official for July 26th in Manchester

It has just been made official how British heavyweights Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora will meet in a rematch of their 2011 clash on July 26th. The rematch, which will be an official WBO final eliminator, will take place in Manchester at The Phones 4U Arena.

BoxNation TV channel in the UK will show the fight live.

25-year-old Fury, unbeaten at 22-0(16) out-pointed 30-year-old Chisora, 20-4(13) three years ago, but Chisora was carrying excess weight and “Del Boy” has promised he will be in tip-top shape this time. Both men want a shot at Wladimir Klitschko and a win on July 26th will take either man a big step closer to that.

Fury-Chisora II has been dubbed “The Fight for The Right.” Continue reading

Fury sees himself easily beat Chisora this Summer

Heavyweight Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) isn’t worried in the least about the new and improved Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) now that he’s shed 15-20 lbs of fat and is fighting at a leaner and meaner weight for him. Chisora and Fury are heading towards a Summer clash in the UK, which will likely be a WBO heavyweight eliminator bout. Fury feels that he’s going to dominate Chisora just like he did three years ago when they fought in 2011. Fury won the fight by a lopsided 12 round decision over a much fatter 260 lb. Chisora.

Chisora and Fury fought on the same card last night at the Copper Box Arena in London, UK. A heavy-looking Fury dispatched Joey Abell in the 4th round, whereas Chisora battled to a 12 round unanimous over Kevin Johnson. Neither of them looked anywhere near the class of IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in the skills department. Continue reading
