Jordan Shimmell to fight for USBA title on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC Sports Network

Jordan Shimmell, 19-0 with 16 KOs, will be fighting on the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) show televised by the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Pearl Theater, Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada. Jordan will be fighting for the vacant USBA cruiserweight title on the televised co-main event. Jordan’s opponent is another Michigan boxer, Isiah Thomas, who is 14-0 with 6 KOs. Continue reading

Jordan Shimmell is ready to fight again after moving to 19-0

Jordan Shimmell who is 19-0 with 16 KOs defeated Carlos Reyes by TKO at the end of the 5th round on April 18, 2015 in Carson, CA. Prior to the fight, Reyes was 7-6-1 with 5 KOs and was ranked #81 in the world by the IBO. The bout was scheduled for 8 rounds on the undercard of the Showtime televised boxing show featuring Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Andrzej Fonfara in the main event. Continue reading

Jordan Shimmell is going to be fighting on the Showtime boxing show featuring Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Andrzej Fonfara in the televised main event on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Carson, CA. Jordan is scheduled to box an 8 round bout against an opponent TBA. Jordan Shimmell who has an 83% KO percentage will be boxing for the first time in 2015. Jordan turned pro June 30, 2012 & had 7 fights in 2012. He had 5 fights in 2013 & 6 fights in 2014. Although Jordan had 18 fights in just 2.5 years, he made short work of most of the fights as his fights averaged only 3.28 rounds each. Jordan Shimmell is training with Adonis Stevenson once again

Jordan Shimmell, 18-0 with 15 KOs, is once again training with WBC World Light Heavyweight Champ Adonis Stevenson. Jordan flew to Montreal on Wednesday, March 4th to join Adonis’ training camp as Adonis prepares for his title defense against Sakio Bika in Quebec City on April 4th. This is the 4th training camp in which Jordan Shimmell has helped prepare Adonis for an upcoming opponent. Continue reading

Jordan Shimmell is the youngest cruiserweight in BoxRec’s world top 25

Jordan Shimmell, 18-0 with 15 KOs, is the youngest boxer rated in the top 25 of BoxRec.com’s cruiserweight world ratings. Jordan who turned 26 in October 2014 is one of just 3 boxers in the top 25 who are under 27, but the other two will both turn 27 in March 2015. Jordan had a big year in 2014 and looks forward to an even bigger 2015. Jordan started out 2014 with a hometown heavyweight bout against “Dangerous” Damon Reed, 47-17, on February 22, 2014 winning by TKO-3. Jordan then boxed another heavyweight, Damon McCreary, 15-1, and won by TKO-2 on a Golden Boy Promotions card on April 14, 2014 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL. Continue reading

Jordan Shimmell closes 2014 with a bang

Jordan Shimmell, 18-0 with 15 KOs, once again dominated his opponent during his most recent pro fight on December 12, 2014 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. The “Holiday Boxing Bash” show was promoted by Warriors Boxing and Jordan’s bout was the co-main event on the stacked card of top contenders and prospects including 3 time Olympian Raushee Warren in the main event. Jordan Shimmell went up against the tough fighter, Phil “The Drill” Williams, 14-6-2 with 13 KOs. Jordan Shimmell and Phil Williams had one common opponent that being Galen “Bad Boy” Brown. Williams had knocked out Galen Brown in 2 rounds in August 2014 while Galen Brown had gone the distance with Jordan Shimmell, losing a lopsided unanimous decision to Jordan in October 2013. Jordan Shimmell’s opponent is announced for December 12th show in Chicago

Jordan Shimmell, 17-0 with 14 KOs, now knows who he will be boxing on December 12, 2014 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. Jordan who has been steadily moving up in the regional and world rankings this year will be boxing the upset minded Anthony Ferrante, 13-6 with 8 KOs, of Philadelphia, PA. In Ferrante’s last fight, he KO’d Venroy July, 16-1-3 at the time, in the 2nd round. Continue reading

Jordan Shimmell to box at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion on December 12th

Jordan Shimmell, 17-0 with 14 KOs, who has been steadily moving up in the regional and world rankings this year is scheduled to box once again in 2014. Jordan will be boxing at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago on Friday, December 12, 2014 on a Warriors Boxing promoted show. This will be Jordan’s second bout at the UIC Pavilion with his first being a 2nd round TKO victory over Damon McCreary back on April 14, 2014. Continue reading

Jordan Shimmell moves up more in the rankings after winning his recent fight in Las Vegas

Jordan Shimmell, 17-0 with 14 KOs, has been steadily moving up in the regional and world rankings this year. Jordan fought in Las Vegas on September 11th and became the first boxer to stop opponent Joell Godfrey, 17-12-1. Godfrey was a contestant in Season 3 of the reality TV show “The Contender”. Godfrey had been in the ring with many cruiserweight and heavyweight contenders and was coming off a big win in his prior bout defeating Marcus Vinicius de Oliveira who was 23-1-1. Godfrey, who had stated in an interview that he would embarrass Jordan Shimmell and make him look “regular” during the fight, was not able to land any meaningful punches on Jordan. Continue reading
