CHICAGO, IL (September 21, 2010) Tickets are now on sale for WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 13, an action packed evening of professional boxing set for Friday, October 22nd at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion.

Presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, advance tickets starting at $31 are available through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com), the UIC Pavilion Box Office (312-413-5740) and the 8 Count Productions’ Office (312-226-5800)..

Co-headlining WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 13 in separate eight round bouts will be two of Chicago ’s most popular young prospects, junior welterweight Ivan Popoca and light heavyweight, “The Polish Prince” Andrzej Fonfara.

A fan favorite in Chicago since turning professional three years ago, the undefeated Popoca has built his reputation with his all-action aggressive style.

Sporting a record of 14-0-1 with ten knockouts, Popoca is coming off his finest performance, an outstanding fifth round stoppage of Jose Luis Soto Karass on May 29th, a bout which was broadcast on Fox Sports Net’s TOP RANK LIVE series from the UIC Pavilion.

Although dropped in the fourth round, Popoca rebounded to drill Soto Karass to the canvas with a devastating right hand to the jaw, resulting in referee Gerald Scott calling a halt to the action.

Since a draw in his third pro fight, Popoca has won twelve in a row, eight by knockout.

The 22 year old Fonfara, a native of Warsaw , Poland , now living in Chicago , is undefeated in his last five bouts, including two show stopping fourth round stoppages this year.

Returning to action with a record of 14-2-0 (5KO’s), Fonfara heads back to the UIC Pavilion following his biggest victory of his four year career, a fantastic four round knockout of Roger Cantrell, featuring a fight ending left/right combination which caused referee Celestino Ruiz to call a halt to the carnage.

The victory over Cantrell earned Fonfara the World Boxing Council Youth Light Heavyweight Title.

In a six round junior middleweight bout, highly regarded 21 year old welterweight prospect Jaime Herrera makes his fifth pro start.

Fighting out of nearby Franklin Park , Illinois , the former amateur standout has made himself at home at the UIC Pavilion, winning all four of his first pro bouts, three by stoppage.

In front of his growing legion of fans, Herrera, 4-0-0 (3KO’s) stopped Joshua Rodriguez in the fourth round on August 6th. With both hands pumping power shots from the opening bell, Herrera dropped the game but outgunned Rodriguez in the fourth round.

Although Rodriguez beat the count, referee John O’Brien stopped the bout shortly thereafter following a barrage of punches from the quick finishing Herrera.

Making a rapid return to battle is junior middleweight Donatas Bondarevas. In front of a huge crowd of supporters, the native of Kaunas , Lithuania , earned a second round stoppage of Michael Davis this past Friday night, dropping him three times enroute.

The victory improved the aggressive, all action Bondarevas’ record to 9-1-1 (3KO’s). It was Bondarevas’ second appearance in Chicago , the first being a sensational first round knockout of Keon Johnson on June 19th at the UIC Pavilion.

Featured in a four round heavyweight tilt, Chicago ’s David Latoria, 5-0-0 with three knockouts will see action at WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 13.

In Latoria’s last start he stopped Tim Back in the first round on March 26th at the UIC Pavilion. Latoria has fought four of his five fights at the UIC Pavilion and the powerful heavyweight has thrilled Chicago fight fans with each outing.

Junior welterweight newcomer Genaro Mendez returns to action for his third professional bout. Mendez, 2-0-0 (1KO), has impressed UIC Pavilion fight fans in both of his initial pro bouts, stopping Alexander Tousignant in the first round on August 6th.

Further information on these bouts will be announced shortly.

Doors on the evening of the event will open at 7pm with the first bell at 8pm. The UIC Pavilion is located at 525 S. Racine , just one block south of the Eisenhower Expressway.
