Legendary Mutiple World Boxing Champion and future Hall-of-Famer Hector “Macho” Camacho will return to the ring in the first fight of his World Tour, enroute to his retirement, this time not only as a fighter but as a promoter. Teamed with Jerry Reyes and Eddie Montalvo, the Macho Man will pit his remarkable 75-5 record against the tough, hard punching Saul “Baby” Duran, 36-16-2. Bringing 30 big knockouts into the bout, Duran, originally from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, now living and training in Albuquerque, NM is looking to close the final chapter on Camacho’s storied career early..
Camacho, however, has other plans.
“This is the first step in closing my career the way I want to end things,” said the charismatic champ from his training camp in Tampa. “I want to fight maybe 4-5 more times, around the country and overseas. I still have an agreement with Mr. Anders Vester, a Nobleman and Gentleman, to compete for the vacant WPBF Middleweight title against former #1 Ranked Welterweight Allan Vester, in Kjellerup, Denmark. That bout was going to take place on March 26, 2010, but Vester injured himself while training, so I decided on staying busy and took on this fight with Baby Duran. I would like to have a chance to perform for my fans around the world before I move on to the next phase of my life. I pray Allan Vester gets well so we can make History together. Then I want to fight in Asia, Australia, Germany and end my Career where I started out in Madison Square Garden. We are talking about Denmark, Vienna, China or Japan or the Phillippines, Australia and Germany. Since Ali-Frazier’s “Thriller in Manila” there hasn’t been a Big Named Fighter compete in the Phillipines. Manny Pacquiao lives in the Phillipines and I would like to fight there before I retire. Maybe he’ll be in office when I arrive (The Macho Man laughs).”
As an active partner of Reyes-Macho Time Productions, Camacho brings a lot to the table, having done a remarkable job of promoting himself nearly his entire career.
“I became a household name not only because of my boxing ability and the level I fought at, but because of who I am,” explained Camacho who was one of the most widely recognized boxers from the 1980’s right through the early 2000’s.
Camacho-Duran will take place at the beautiful Kissimmee Civic Center, Kissimmee, Fl., on Friday, May 14, 2010. In addition to the legendary Camacho, the show will feature several of the area’s top young prospects, all excited to share the stage with a living legend. The top supporting bout will feature one of the world’s best female boxers, Jenna “Cowgirl” Shiver of St. Petersburg, Fl., 10-4-1, facing the rough Domincan Liliana Martinez of NY in a 6-round Jr. Featherweight bout. Shiver, who is also a well-known stunt-person, brings an exciting style and charisma into the ring, a perfect opener for the Macho Man.
Another rising star in female boxing is 4-time NY Golden Gloves Champ Patricia “Patty Boom Boom” Alcivar, 2-Time NYC Golden Gloves Champion, U.S. National Gold and Silver Medalist Silver and, First Female Boxer to Win an International Gold Medal. Patty, as is she is known, also has an acting career and this past February made her Runway Debut as a Model. She will be facing the experienced Treasure Saunders of Chicago in a 4-round special attraction.
Two local amateur rivals will square off in a middleweight bout when Danilo Albaladan and Paul Marfort join the paying ranks in a bold move against one another. In a day and age when most young prospects want to take the easy route, it’s great to see two fighters willing to step right into a real fight early in their careers.
Kissimmee’s Danny Pastrana, 1-1, will attempt to improve his record against Crystal River’s Jose Laguer, 0-1, who is 4-0 as an MMA fighter.
Orlando’s Roger Rosa will face St. Petersburg, Fl., Adrian Perez in what looks like fight of the night, while Perez’s teammate and Rosa victim Cesar Cisneros will try to pick up his first professional win against debuting Jesus Lule of Ft. Meyers, trained and managed by the affable veteran trainer Steve Canton.

Hector Camacho Jr., at times overshadowed by his father, 3 time world Boxing Champion, Hector Camacho Sr. is ready to supersede the expectations of himself and his fans with this battle against Guyana’s own, Denny “Deadly” Dalton.
Some believe that Camacho has experienced a string of disappointments, which were triggered when he lost a portion of his fan base after his battle against Jessie James Lejia in 2001. Despite the opinions of Nay-Sayers, Camacho Jr. is ready to toe the line, carry his name, and work to regain the success he experienced prior to his defeat against Israel Cardona last August. With the sport boxing having lost some of its luster in recent years, we expect Camacho to help rekindle our passion for the “sweet science”.
With a record of 51W/3L/1D, at the age of 31, mature, and motivated, he intends to hold down his title as the current heir of a proud Puerto Rican Boxing heritage. His next step to building on his career will be his 28th knockout this May.
Coming into this event Denny “Deadly” Dalton is looking to be known as the Camacho killer. He is Guyana’s own National Middleweight Champ. Memorable for his jaw dropping defeat of Keith Thomas, to take the National Junior Middleweight Title at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Later, he would be noted for knocking out Kevin Placide in the 10th round to win the WBE and WBC Cabofe titles of 2008. Labeled as “a Power Puncher” by the GBBC (Guyana Boxing Board of Control), Dalton is sure to give Camacho a challenging bout.
With a record of 16W/8L/1D, at the age of 35, Dalton is an above average fighter with the tenacity to go head to head with any opponent. He is known for his courage, determination, and grit in the ring. There is no doubt he is a hometown hero in Guyana S.A. We are anxious to see his performance in May.

Camacho, a New York raised Puerto Rican, will be entering his 30th year as a professional fighter and is inspired by other elite fighters who have made significant marks on the sport in the latter years of their career.
“If my Idols Muhammad Ali and George Foreman did it, why not me?” Camacho says.
“Macho”, a fan favorite for both his in ring accomplishments and flashy style, has had a long and storied boxing career. He won his first world title in 1983 with a TKO over Rafael Limon for the vacant WBC super featherweight championship. He later moved up in weight to win the WBC lightweight title in 1985 with a decision victory over Jose Luis Ramirez and would move up a weight division again in 1989 to claim the WBO junior welterweight title by defeating fellow crowd pleaser Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini.
Along the way Camacho has defeated a plethora of world champions and noteworthy prizefighters. He’s the only man to ever stop Hall of Famer Sugar Ray Leonard. He also boasts wins over Roberto Duran, Vinny Pazienza, Greg Haugen and Manny Pacquiao’s current trainer Freddie Roach.
Camacho has never been stopped and has also been in the ring with legends such as Oscar De La Hoya, Felix “Tito” Trinidad and old rival Julio Cesar Chavez.
Saul Duran is a proud Mexican warrior from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua who has twice challenged for world titles. In 1997, he dropped a decision to Stevie Johnston fighting for the lightweight championship of the world. In 1999, he fought to a draw against Takanori Hatakeyama in Tokyo vying to the WBA world super featherweight championship. In 2003, he fought former world champion Jose Luis Castillo.
