Roy Jones & Danny Green in Pensacola Monday

Pensacola, FL (August 11, 2009) — Danny “Green Machine” and his camp took a two hour drive west from Biloxi to Pensacola on Monday to check out Roy Jones’ training facility on his 88 acre farm. Jones doesn’t get very excited about entertaining guests on fight week, as you can imagine, but he was hospitable in returning a favor. Roy “Captain Hook” Jones Jr. will battle Jeff “Left Hook” Lacy on Saturday night in Biloxi and Green and Julio Cesar Dominguez will fight for the IBO Cruiserweight title line on pay-per-view..

Jeff Lacy“Danny was very friendly to me when I went down to Australia,” Jones said. “He wanted to check out my camp, so I welcome him.” Jones took Green on a tour which included the boxing gym, the workout room and the living quarters. Hanging on the walls surrounding a pool table are numerous stuffed animals including a ten-foot bull shark, a 2700-pound buffalo, two wild boar, a seventy-pound sea bass and two bobcats.

There has been some talk of Jones and Green fighting in Australia when each get by their opponents on Saturday night. “I would fight Green because it would be for the world cruiserweight title and I have never won the cruiserweight title; and I would probably be the biggest known fighter to ever fight in Australia in a major fight. Those are the two reasons why I would even accept the notion,” said Jones. “But you have to remember that is the farthest thing from my mind right now. Right now I am focused totally on Jeff Lacy, and I don’t think about anything that may or may not happen after August 15.”

“Coming here is no disrespect to my opponent on Saturday night. This is just part of the promotion of this fight,” said Danny “Green Machine” Green. “I wanted to come over here and see the digs where Roy Jones trains. I wanted to check it out. Right now I am thinking about fighting Dominguez on Saturday night. I know Dominguez has a big punch and I have to be ready for that because he’s going to come at me to try to knock me out.”

Green was then asked what he was going to do about that. Green grinned and said “I am going to knock him out, mate.”

“But after that I want to fight Roy Jones in a huge promotion in Australia.” Would Roy be a favorite in that fight? “He thinks he would,” Green deadpanned.

Living legend Jones has been a world champion in four divisions – middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight – and currently ranks among the top seven light heavyweights in all four major boxing organizations (WBO #2) and The Ring magazine. RJJ defends his NABO light heavyweight championship against power-punching Lacy, rated No. 6 by the IBF and No. 9 by the WBO, who once held the IBF and IBO super middleweight world titles.

Two-time world champion Danny “Green Machine” Green (26-3, 23 KOs) brings thunder from Down Under as the Australian fights South American champion Julio Cesar “La Furia” Dominguez (20-4-1, 14 KOs) in the 12-round co-feature for the vacant IBO cruiserweight championship.

NABO junior heavyweight champion B.J. “El Peligroso” Flores (23-0-1, 14 KOs), rated No. 3 by the WBO and No. 6 by the WBA, defends his crown against former world title challenger Epifanio “Diamente” Mendoza (29-7-1, 25 KOs) in a 10-round match.

All bouts are subject to change.

HOOK CITY PPV TO BE STREAMED ON WWW.GOFIGHTLIVE.TV THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

Roy Jones Jr. to battle Jeff Lacy in anticipated Light Heavyweight showdown that can be seen LIVE all over the world on www.gofightlive.tv

NEW YORK (August 11, 2009)—This Saturday night one of most anticipated Light Heavyweight battles will take place between the legendary Roy Jones Jr. and former Super Middleweight champion Jeff “Left Hook” Lacy and the action can be seen world-wide on www.gofightlive.tv

The card will take place at the Beau Ravage in Biloxi, Mississippi. The cost for this exciting night of boxing is $34.95 for viewers inside the United States and $19.95 for internationally and will begin at 9pm eastern/6pm Pacific

Jones is the former Middleweight, Super Middleweight, Light heavyweight and Heavyweight champion of the world and brings in astounding record of 53-5 with thirty-nine knockouts.
Jones defends his NABO light heavyweight title against Lacy in “Hook City,” presented by Square Ring Promotions in association with Left Hook Promotions.

“We are very excited to be promoting “Hook City” on August 15 in Biloxi to settle the question, once and for all, of who is the best professional hooker in the sport of boxing,” said John S. Wirt, CEO of Square Ring Promotions. “While Jeff claims to have the best left hook, come the morning of the 16th, I think he may well be in the market for a new ring name.”
The Hall of Fame bound-Jones, fighting out of his native Pensacola (FL), has been a world champion in four divisions – middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight – and currently ranks among the top seven light heavyweights in all four major boxing organizations (WBO #2) and The Ring magazine.

St. Petersburg (FL) power-punching Lacy, rated No. 6 by the IBF and No. 9 by the WBO, is moving up in weight to fight living legend Jones as a light heavyweight for the first time. Former IBF and IBO super middleweight title-holder Lacy is coming off of a win by 10-round decision against Otis Griffin this past April.

Two-time world champion Danny “Green Machine” Green (26-3, 23 KOs), the power-puncher from Down Under, dreams of fighting Jones later this year in Australia. His opponent in the 12-round IBO cruiserweight title fight is South American light heavyweight title-holder Julio Cesar “La Furia” Dominguez (20-4-1, 14 KOs), who has fought in relative obscurity in his native Argentina. All he’s been dreaming about is knocking out Green. Which one’s dream will come true? That, too, will be decided in “Hook City.”

NABO cruiserweight champion B.J. “El Peligroso” Flores (23-0-1, 14 KOs) has a display case filled with regional title belts. He’s rated as high as No. 3 by the WBO and No. 6 by the WBA and positioned for a major world title fight. Standing in his way in “Hook City” is former world title challenger Epifanio “Diamente” Mendoza (29-7-1, 25 KOs), the Colombian hit man who specializes in putting opponents to sleep, as well as knocking-off unbeaten contenders.
Two highly-regarded lightweight prospects — Verquan “The Show” Kimbrough (21-1-2, 7 KOs) and challenger Jason “American Boy” Litzau (24-2, 20 KOs) — go toe-to-toe in “Hook City” in a 10-round Special Attraction for the vacant NABF belt. Both have rich amateur pedigrees and Kimbrough is trying to get where Litzau has been and plans to return — a world title shot. All bouts are subject to change.

“We are very excited to be able to distribute this incredible event around the world”, said David Klarman of www.gofightlive.tv
“Roy Jones is one of the legends of the sport and to be able to be able to broadcast this event along with three other title bouts will make for a great evening of boxing for everyone around the globe”
