Jamaal ‘Da Truth’ Davis Signs With Peltz Boxing Promotions

Ever popular Philadelphia middleweight, Jamaal ‘Da Truth’ Davis (8-4,6KOs), has signed a promotional contract with Peltz Boxing Promotions Inc. Promoter, Russell Peltz, opened discussions with Jamaal and his trainer/manager, Sharron Baker, after watching his impressive dominating
performance to take the unanimous decision win over the very tough and gutsy, fellow Philadelphian, Chris Hall at the National Guard Armory on October 4th.

As Jamaal was in the middle of warming up in preparation for his workout, at the James Shuler Memorial Gym in West Philadelphia, his trainer and manager, Sharron Baker, took the opportunity to comment on the contract. “I’m ecstatic about us being signed to Peltz Boxing. I’ve told everybody I’ve got the right kid at the right time with the right attitude. He has the heart of a lion. He works harder than any two fighters put together I know. All he needed was the opportunity to showcase his wares.

Having worked with Russell Peltz in the past, I’m happy to be working with him again. Knowing what he can do for our career it boosts me even more to push Jamaal further than I’m already pushing him. I’m absolutely ecstatic about the signing and look forward to great performances on his behalf.”

Just as Sharron was finishing speaking, the ever smiling Jamaal sauntered over and chipped in. “Truth be told, Philly (promoters) has shown no love for the hard work that me and Sharron put in. The time we have put in at the gym or in the ring. Luckily someone bigger than Philly gave us a look and gave us a chance.

You Know, It’s a real privilege to be signed by Russell Peltz. He works with some of the biggest names in the business. He’s well connected with all the big promoters. It’s like being signed to the Majors.

We haven’t had our first fight with him yet but we’re so fired up right now. He’s lit the fire under me, keeping me motivated. I’m working even harder in the gym now. Now I have even more reason to fight well, more than before when I did it for my kids and to keep my focus after losing my wife. I’m still fighting for my family but I’m going to do my thing even more now, for my promoter. I’m going to carry his name well.”

The clearly happy duo of Baker and Davis then celebrated in the way that true pugilists do, getting straight down to business with some serious pad work.

Whilst it is expected that an announcement will be made shortly regarding Jamaal’s first fight under the Peltz Boxing Promotions banner, Jamaal will be undertaking an official outing on December 5th, albeit as a team member supporting fellow Peltz fighters, Mike Jones and Latif Munday as well as fellow Shulers gym mate Rock Allen at the Golden Boy Promotions, King’s Promotions and Peltz Boxing co-promoted ‘Pounding on Penn Street’ event at the Sovereign Center, Reading, PA.

**NOAH ZUHDI WINS OKLAHOMA LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE**

In a first round knock out, Noah Zuhdi overpowered undefeated boxer George Colbert to claim the Oklahoma Lightweight title at a packed house, standing room only fight at Remington Park in Oklahoma City on November 24. Zuhdi began his assault on Colbert by picking and choosing his power shots which were delivered with strategic accuracy at a controlled, effective pace. Then a minute into the first round, Zuhdi hit Colbert with a left hook to the head followed by an explosive barrage of punches which left Colbert reeling. Twelve seconds later, Zuhdi delivered a devastating right uppercut that sent Colbert to the canvas. Colbert was unable to beat the count and Zuhdi’s record is now expanded to 5-0 with five first round knockouts. Zuhdi’s was the seventh professional bout of the evening and was the main event at the fights promoted by catBOX Entertainment.
