It is obvious that Kotelnik doesn’t want to fight me, and he seems to make up excuses not to take the fight that boxing fans want to see. Explosive Thin Men: Bell vs. Haskins For British Title
Frank Maloney Promotions returns to the north of England on Friday, November 7 when Andy Bell puts his British super flyweight championship at risk against veteran southpaw Lee Haskins at the Robin Park Centre in the Manchester suburb of Wigan.
23 year old Nottingham man Bell clawed his way to the forefront of the UK super flyweight division by overcoming Chris Edwards in a thrilling slugfest that shattered the gritty Stoke grafter’s hold on the British title this past March.
To keep hold of his prized possession and seven fight win streak, Bell, 11-3 (3), must hold off cagey left hander Lee Haskins as the Bristol based blazer has vowed to return to the lighter weight ranks and recapture the glory of his reign as Commonwealth flyweight champion.
Haskins, 17-2 (9), has never lost a fight waged below the bantamweight division and the 24 year old’s hands down, punches from all angles style should produce a fiery display when pitted against the high volume attack of Bell.
Chief support at Robin Park Centre is provided by the first title defense of English super bantam titlist Mark Moran, 10-0-1 (3), of Liverpool who faces the challenge of former European, British and Commonwealth champion Esham Pickering, 33-7 (13), of Newark.
Manchester welterweight Mark Thompson, 17-1 (10), meets hardened Scotsman Andrew Ferrans, 24-8-2 (8), of New Cummock in an eight rounder while the Harrow flash, Akaash Bhatia, 12-0 (3), steps up against former English super bantam titlist Marc Callaghan, 19-14-1 (4), of Barking over the same distance at featherweight.

Carina “La Reina” Moreno retains her WBC and WIBA strawweight titles with a TKO victory over a game Judi Esquibel at the Tachi Palace Casino in Lemoore Ca.
In the opening round, Esquibel used her lateral movement to escape the pressure of Moreno. Making adjustments, Moreno came into the second round with a game plan that saw her throw more overhand rights. But it was a powerful straight right hand that landed flush on the nose of Esquibel that changed the fight for good. Esquibel would end the round with blood oozing from her nostrils.
For the rest of the bout, Moreno would land combinations with pin point accuracy, with the overhand right being the most effective. The referee would halt the action in the middle of the rounds as blood continued to pour out the nose of Esquibel. At 1:36 of the ninth round, the referee put an end to the thumping Esquibel (5-3-1, 2 KO’s) was taking as Moreno won her twelfth fight in a row improving to (20-1, 6 KO’s). Moreno went on to say, “I came into this fight knowing that Esquibel was going to be in the best shape of her life. I too was in great shape and it paid off. After the first round, my corner told me to let my hands go. Once I saw the blood coming from her nose, I knew she was in trouble. I just kept applying pressure making it hard for her to breath. She showed a lot of heart making it to the ninth round. I give her a lot of credit, she’s a tough fighter.”
With the win, the 4-time world champion Moreno, will step up to light flyweight and defend her titles against the best fighters in that division. This championship fight was presented by Goossen Tutor Promotions in association with Tachi Palace Casino.
Don Juan Futrell vs Hector Alatorre
Don Juan Futrell recaptures the WBC USNBC light welterweight title with a unanimous victory over Hector Alatorre. Futrell’s hand speed was the difference as he landed the cleaner more crisp punches. Throughout the fight, Futrell controlled the action with a stiff jab from the south-paw stance. Alatorre couldn’t get into a grove as Futrell kept the fight in the middle of the ring. Score cards read 77-75 twice and 79-73 on the other. Futrell improves to (22-3-2, 10 KO’s) as Alatorre record stands at (15-6, 5 KO’s).
