The fighting pride of Rialto, California, Dominic Salcido (15-0, 8 KOs) is on the fast track to big things in the lightweight division. Known for his blazing speed and footwork, the former amateur star saw his early pro career stall due to a hand injury. But since returning in 2007, he has accelerated his pace in impressive style, going 7 for 7 last year. On June 27th, he makes his 2008 debut and it promises to be a fight to remember.

Like the famed movie monster Dracula, Salcido’s opponent, Luis Arceo (19-6-2, 13 KOs), comes up to you and extracts blood – only this ‘Vampiro’ does it to his opponents in the ring with his fists, not his teeth. It’s this attitude of taking no prisoners that has made him a tough out for anyone who fights him, and which has also made him a favorite among fans who love to watch a fighter who leaves it all in the ring every time out.

A native of Cartagena, Colombia, Yonnhy Perez (16-0, 12 KOs) was a four-time Colombian national champion as an amateur before relocating to the United States and entering the pro ranks in 2005. Now based in Santa Fe Springs, California, Perez has impressed fight insiders so far, especially with wins over veteran Samuel Lopez and his June 27th foe, Oscar Andrade.

Durango, Mexico’s Oscar Andrade (36-32-2, 17 KOs) is eager to get back in the win column on June 27th, especially knowing that he can even the score with Perez in the process. A rugged competitor who doesn’t know the word ‘quit’, Andrade has fought the best of this era, challenging for a world title four times over his 17 year career. Still only 33 years old, Andrade is gearing up for another run at the crown, but he needs to beat Perez to keep his dream alive.

In undercard action, some of Southern California’s top young prospects will step between the ropes. Somebody’s “0” must go in a six round junior middleweight bout when Riverside knockout artist Rafael Lopez (5-0, 5 KOs) squares off against Chino’s Sammy Gonzales (4-0, 2 KOs). Also squaring off in a four round lightweight bout will be Santa Ana’s Luis Ramos (4-0, 2 KOs) and Tijuana’s Noe Jimenez (2-2), plus a four round jr. welterweight battle between Hemet’s Ricardo Martinez-Torres (1-1) against Antonio Orozco, from National City, CA, who will be making his professional debut.
