Odlanier Solis: “I turned pro to collect titles!”

Arena’s main eventers for this Sunday’s show in Halle (Saale) showed themselves well prepared at today’s press conference at Maritim Hotel in Halle. In the main event Herbie Hide (40-4-0, 39 kos) will face unbeaten Russian prospect Mikhail Nasyrov (18-0-0, 12 kos) for the vacant WBC international cruiserweight championship. Hide is confident that he will beat his opponent to proceed his way to the world title..

Herbie: “This is a very important fight for me. I won the WBC international title for the first time 15 years ago and held it until I became WBO world heavyweight champion; now I’m back to beat up this 25-year-old Russian kid. I’m gonna show everybody why they call me the “Dancing Destroyer”. I will dance and destroy the Russian boy.”

The co-main event features arena’s Cuban “heavyweight sensation” Odlanier Solis (5-0-0, 4 kos) who faces 7-foot-1-giant Julius Long (15-8-0, 13 kos) from Detroit for the WBC Latino Championship.

odlanier solisSolis: “When I started boxing my goal was to win and collect as many titles as possible for me and my family. I’ve won everything as an amateur. This Sunday I will start to add pro-titles to my collection. I start from the smaller titles and I won’t stop until I have all world championship belts!”

The third title fight of the night will be for the German Interim Championship. Hard hitting Konstantin Airich (7-0-0, all wins by ko) faces Turhan Altunkaya (17-1-3) from Neuwied. Airich replaces local hero Steffen Kretschmann (10-0-0, 9 kos) who suffered a foot injury while preparing for the title shot.

Airich: “I’m sorry for Steffen that he cannot fight in front of his home crowd. But then again this is my big chance and I’m very happy that it came so fast. I’ve been German amateur champion last year, now I will become German champion at the pros. All I know about my opponent is that he will lie on the ground when I’m done with him.”

There will be 10 fights on the card in total. The show starts at 6 p.m. Very few tickets are still available at Maritim Hotel Halle. The show will be broadcasted LIVE on Eurosport (in Germany), on Fox Türk (in Turkey) and in the rest of the world for only 3,99 US$ as PPV Live Stream on the internet
