Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana fight fans are invited to attend the official weigh-in at 7 pm this Thursday. Everyone will have the opportunity to win Slug Fest tickets and meet the fighters.

According to Rodney Langel, owner of Langel’s Pizza, the excitement among the region’s fans is reaching a boiling point. “Our patrons know sports and White vs. Galvan is a fight they can’t stop talking about,” Langel said. “With two popular local fighters facing each other, the fans had to choose sides early. Our patrons are telling us to expect a huge turn out of supporters of both Galvan and White for the weigh-in.”

Presented by Octavius James’ One In A Million Inc., Slug Fest ’07 features Galvan vs. White in the main event and WBC #5 fan favorite Mary McGee in the co-main event. McGee, along with all of the fighters, will be available to meet fans and take photos immediately after weighing on Thursday.

In addition to the rivalry in the main event, One In A Million Inc. stable mates, Derrick “Superman” Findley (6-2, 5 KOs) of Gary faces Juan “Mexican Connection” Aguilar (6-1, 3 KOs) of Michoacan, Mexico in a super middleweight bout. “Aguilar demanded this bout,” promoter Octavius James said. “This is personal for him. I didn’t have to ask Findley twice if he wanted the opportunity to shut Aguilar up.”

One In A Million’s exciting young 20-year-old undefeated prospect Jose Guzman (2-0, 1 KO) of Guadalajara, Mexico faces Chicago’s Luis Navarro (1-2, 1 KO) in a lightweight bout. “These two will make a great fight,” James said. “Anytime you put two hungry, young Mexican fighters in the ring together, you get a war.”

“This fight is at home on my birthday,” Mobley said. “Expect nothing less than a knock out from me.”

Finally, in heavyweight action, undefeated prospect Michael “Quiet Assassin” Parker (5-0, 4 KOs) faces Carl Gathright (6-9-1, 2 KOs) of Niles, MI.
