Tom Brown, TGB Promotions’ President, is hyping up the event. He promises that Morrell, a Minneapolis favorite, will showcase why he’s a force to be reckoned with in the super middleweight division. Agbeko isn’t just here to make up numbers – he’s bringing his A-game to end the fight early. And the undercard? It’s packed with action, promising a night of non-stop excitement.

Morrell, a Cuban prodigy now calling Minneapolis home, has been on a tear since his pro debut in 2019. He’s demolished opponents, including an explosive first-round KO of Olympic medalist Yamaguchi Falcao. Training under Ronnie Shields in Texas, Morrell’s made The Armory his personal victory ground, headlining for the fourth time.

Morrell’s fired up for the main event, promising a spectacle for his fans in Minneapolis and around the globe. He’s ready to prove the doubters wrong and show Agbeko he’s in a league of his own.

Agbeko, from Ghana and now a Nashville resident, is on a hot streak, bagging victories left and right. He’s determined to shake up the super middleweight scene and leave his mark in boxing history.

Brooklyn’s own Colbert is back to silence any doubters and prove his dominance at 135 pounds. Having faced off with champions and contenders, he’s eyeing a repeat victory to solidify his spot among the elite.

Valenzuela, the Mexican powerhouse, is looking to rewrite the script and settle the score in their anticipated rematch. He’s been training hard, ready to unleash his improved skills in the ring.

Martinez, under the guidance of Eddy Reynoso, has been defending his flyweight crown like a boss. He’s gunning for title unification next year and knows that beating Cordova is step one on his quest for glory.

Cordova, Venezuela’s rising star, is living his dream, fighting for the WBC world title. He’s grateful for the opportunity and is training hard to claim the world champion title.

And don’t forget Guerrero and Berto. Guerrero, a three-time world champ, is all set to give fans an all-out performance. He’s promising an action-packed fight against Berto, ready to show why he’s a fan favorite.

Berto, hungry for revenge against Guerrero, is looking to right past wrongs. He’s been training like never before and is eager to deliver a top-notch performance on December 16.

Robert Guerrero:

“These hands are itching for action, and it’s high time they get what they want. It’s been quite the wait. Sure, things evolve, but as my dad always says, ‘An older bull has even tougher horns.’ We’re all set to rumble.

Last time we clashed, I was more of a lightweight stepping into the welterweight zone. Now, I’ve adapted to this division. It’s going to be a whole new fight this time.

Both of us were in Vegas, training hard and running those tracks. I’m pumped and ready for round two. Running at Vegas’ high altitude, there’s nothing that compares.

If you’re familiar with Robert Guerrero, you know I don’t back down. I’m always ready for a battle. That’s just our nature. We’re born fighters.”

Andre Berto:

“Those who keep up with me are aware that I’m always in top form. This rematch is something I’ve been eager to have. It’s the same with Victor Ortiz. Stepping in the ring with Guerrero the first time wasn’t the best call on my part. Now, I’m on a mission for redemption before I exit the sport.

Robert’s a top-contender, no doubt, and he showed his skills. But this time, my appetite for victory is massive. Memories from that previous bout still linger in my mind. I’m driven to turn the tables this time. Our training camp was intense, and we’re set to claim our win.

I wasn’t in the best mental or physical shape in our first fight. I barely gained weight post-weigh-in. And yet, he just narrowly won. Not to undermine Robert’s talent – he’s tough as nails.

But now, at this age, I feel invincible. My focus is sharper than ever. I didn’t hold back in training, sparring with some of the best young talents out there. I’m feeling energetic and rejuvenated.”

THREE-FIGHT SHOWTIME BOXING® COUNTDOWN SHOW SET FOR THIS SATURDAY

Leading the charge on the SHOWTIME BOXING COUNTDOWN show, brought to you by Premier Boxing Champions, is former world champ Alberto Puello. He’s squaring up against the undefeated Ector Madera in an eight-round super lightweight rumble. This clash is going to headline the night at The Armory, and you can catch all the action live on SHOWTIME SPORTS YouTube and Facebook.

The night’s got some more fist-flying action with middleweights Kyrone Davis and Cruse Stewart throwing down in an eight-rounder, and light heavyweight contender Lawrence King duking it out with Alex Theran in a six-round battle. All this action will be served up by the award-winning MORNING KOMBAT hosts Luke Thomas and Brian Campbell.

Puello, hailing from the Dominican Republic and now training in Las Vegas, is stepping back into the ring after clinching the WBA Super Lightweight World Championship in August 2022. He’s up against Bakersfield’s own Madera, a rising star looking to make a name for himself. Madera’s been on a knockout spree and is ready to take on the former champ.

Meanwhile, Davis is aiming for another win this year after dominating Cristian Fabian Rios in January. He’s faced some tough fights, including a draw against Anthony Dirrell and a challenging bout against David Benavidez. Davis, training under Stephen “Breadman” Edwards, is set to battle Stewart, who’s hungry for a comeback after a couple of losses.

King, sparring partner to none other than Canelo Alvarez, is riding a nine-fight winning streak and has his sights set on Theran, a seasoned fighter from Colombia. Both are bringing impressive records to the ring.

The undercard’s not to be overlooked either, featuring junior middleweight Joey Spencer, super bantamweight Michael Angeletti, super middleweight Shawn McCalman, and super lightweight Jose Chollet in their respective bouts.

Closing out the card, Mayweather Promotions’ prospects John Easter and Charles Harris Jr. are stepping into the ring for some action-packed fights.
