Saturday night in Ohio, local former 3 weight world champion Adrien Broner goes into battle for a world title opportunity he arguably doesn’t deserve against relatively inactive Russian, Khabib Allakhverdiev.
After June’s loss to Ohioan rival Shawn Porter, Broner saw his stock decline sharply once again, and after a series of ill-thought out social media posts, has taken a vow of silence as he prepares for his shot at the vacant WBA (sup) 140 lb title.

Khan turned his attentions to “Pac-Man,” ostensibly as a next best thing after failing to land the Floyd fight, and with Bob Arum last week confirming that talks were well underway and he wasn’t looking at any other opponent for his fighter, it seems a fight is on for the first part of next year, although exact details need ironing out.
Retired former super-middleweight champion Carl Froch has called into question the injury to Wladimir Klitschko that has caused the date for the Ukrainian’s title fight with British challenger Tyson Fury to be moved back.
Froch, writing in his Sky Sports column – and admittedly playing ‘devil’s advocate’ – is questioning the legitimacy of the calf-strain that Wladimir picked up just days after a fun-filled press conference in London that saw Fury arrive in a Batman costume, claiming the giant challenger may well have ‘rattled’ the champion.
