Omar Figueroa narrowly avoided an upset in his unanimous decision over Antonio Demarco in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC live from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Figueroa did what was expected. He swarmed all over Demarco with a never ending whirlwind of punches. His incredible punch count just about doubled that of Demarco.

Exciting and undefeated former lightweight world champion Omar “Panterita” Figueroa (24-0-1, 18 KOs) will take on former two-division world champion Ricky Burns (37-4-1, 11 KOs) in the main event when Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) returns to CBS on Saturday, May 9 (4 p.m. ET, 1 p.m. PT), at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.

In the co-main event, a pair of bantamweight world champions square off when Tomoki Kameda (31-0, 19 KOs) battles Jamie McDonnell (25-2-1, 12 KOs).

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has made the announcement that 90% of the terms are agreed regarding the proposed fight between Omar Figueroa and Ricky Burns.

Hearn made the point to announce that the largest remaining issue was with weight as he initially believed the bout would be contested at a catch weight of 138 pounds, however now Figueroas people are now saying the fight will happen at the full super lightweight limit of 140lbs. Burns may not be fully comfortable at 140 and we know Figueroa isn’t happen with 135 so with this issue the negotions are ongoing, however we hope they get settled as this is a fantastic matchup.
