It’s Me, Ernie

God Bless Teddy Atlas. He has given more than most to the sport of boxing, especially to the amateurs.

half the time they are not even talking about the fight going on right in front of them. they are talking about everything else though.i also would actually like to hear the ring announcer introduce the fighters for a change instead of all of their gibberish. something you miss with the bouts on espn.

Stepney agreed. Atlas is my main problem — he’s a shrill and annoying announcer who never stops jabbering. I always flip the channel during his horrible prefight skit. IMO he and Max Kellerman should have to fight with brass knuckles with the loser forced out of fight announcing and the winner taking a job as network janitor. Anyhow, great card on tap. It’s all about the boxers not the talking heads who I often mute anyhow.

This is a banging FNF card. Hope we get the top 3 bouts televised, each would be a decent headliner on its own.

carlos molina should have no problems beating cory spinks i think spinks is done at this stage i see molina being agressive in this fight since spinks aint a big puncher i see carlos putting pressure on spinks just outworking him maybe even stopping him spinks is more hittable now

Yeah, Im glad Castillos still banging, but he’s fighting a solid/big LMW. He’s not even a big LWW. I know he’s been fighting at WW, but this might be too much. Smith is young and strong, and Castillos reflexes and punch resistance are badly faded.
I don’t want to see him get hurt. He might be my fav fighter ever.

I too think that the Friday Night Fights have been rather decent lately but the broadcasts could certainly be improved if they replaced the two commentators they currently use. I suppose I need to qualify that by adding if they replaced by two decent commentators.

Glad to see Castillo back in Chicago, had a good outing last time against Popoca. Keep bringing good fights to chicago.
