after all of that….Broner is my guy

……fill in the blank……..WON”T BE ABLE TO TOUCH ME….

First time I heard this was when Ali…well past his prime…took on Jimmy Young…..Ali landed one punch for every sixteen punches Young landed…still …Ali got the ‘decision’….

You can say you don’t like Broner’s personality, but there’s no denying the dude has talent and is physically gifted. Me… I could care less about a boxer’s personality and any out-of-ring issues, I only care about what they do/can do inside the ring. If they entertain, I’ll be watching.

i agree with srminimo demarco do have problems with boxers and fighters with good handspeed that y i think broner will win

ponce is a tough fighter tho but broner had all the advantages in that fight and he still struggle idk if it was ponce style that throw him off or he show to much respect for ponce cause he was experince who knows but he still struggle tho or maybe southpaws could be a problem for him we see when he fight the next southpaw how he looks

Posted October 5, 2012 6:19 pm

Don’tknow what else to say on Broner. Even the best fighters have struggled with certain styles, but they find a way to win. Broner did this with Ponce De Leon even though some thought he lost just like when Castillo beat Mayweather, but wasn’t given the decision. In the rematch, Floyd beat him much easier . The same would happen if Ponce fought Broner again. I know many of you don’t buy that Broner is something great at this time, but he’ll slow make you a believer once he dismantles DeMarco, and I mean dismantle. I can’t deny the kid has super talent, and he is annoying, but he’s unbeaten and sems to be getting better all the time. Now that the weight won’t be a factor, he’s going to be much stronger and even more confident. Let’s see what happens.

Posted October 5, 2012 5:12 pm

And this is coming from a guy who doesn’t care for Broner

Posted October 5, 2012 3:14 pm

DeMarco gets hit way too easy. Broner is going to knock him out. Mark my words.

Posted October 5, 2012 3:13 pm

Yuri Gamboa will destroy copycat Broner. I will be rooting for Demarco on this one. This fight is as close a we can have to a Pac-Floyd fight. Oh, i think we’ve already seen one of those (Broner-Ponce De Leon), albeit Demarco and De Leon are both way below Pacquiao’s level. De Leon tapped Broner’s ass alot though, Broner seems to be at lost sometimes lol.

Posted October 5, 2012 1:38 pm

i know one thing broner better be on point all night long with zero breaks or demarco will bring the pain ,this cat just keeps punching. It’s not a game he better take this match extremely serious, broner may have to go to plan b and c to get this win…no walk in the park during the day time for broner…….he’s been warned…..eazy!

@hecdog, you have looked at him as closely as you have said you would know that he hasn’t been great vs south paws. Sure Broner has a chance at being a great P4P fighter but he isn’t as complete as some people want to say. Great fighters don’t struggle and maybe should have lost to guys like Ponce. I love watching Ponce fight but he was also knocked out quickly by JuanMa.

Posted October 5, 2012 9:30 am

I hope Broner doesn’t get overzealous with his “flash.” I want to see him hurt DeMarco. DeMarco is tough–like most Mexican fighters–but Broner is gonna take his title.

Posted October 5, 2012 9:09 am

Broner is gonna upset a lot of people.

Posted October 5, 2012 7:45 am

Hecdog no doubt the skies the limit for Broner and a win over Demarco will earn him more respect i just dont c him walking thru Demarco like that. Demarco will get off and score on Broner. Because of that i wont completely write him off in this fight.

The Mad Scientist

Even if Broner ko’s DeMarco it wont show how great he is anyways..most here who are not sold on the Problem are picking him to win the fight anyhow..the lightweight division has been wide open since JMM exited the door and Brandon Rios showed his inability to longer make I said, 140 is where Broner wants to at if he dares to be great..

Posted October 5, 2012 4:55 am

Come on people, I tried giving you some in sight on Broner who will be an ATG. Keep doubting this guy, and he’ll have fun proving you wrong. A good trainer that has a good eye for talent like myself can see all the special components of a great fighter. Broner has them all, and he’s only needed to use half of his talent so far. Sure he had some close fights (Ponce De Leon), but he gained experience, and Ponce is a very unorthodox fighter that gives anyone a tough fight, just ask Jhonny Gonzalez. The point is, Broner knows how to weave, slip, duck, move, counter and master every other move needed to be a special boxer like Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather, James Toney, Sugar Ray Leonard, Wilfredo Benitez and Sugar Ray Robinson. Most of you are blinded by his ego and his confidence, but he’s the real deal, and you’ll agree with me once he starts dismantling fighters in various weight classes. Believe me, I’m right on this guy, and you’ll see in the future just how good this kid is. As all great fighters do, he will get better as the competition gets better. I guarantee he will KO Demarco. I’ll mow my lawn with my teeth if he doesn’t.

Posted October 5, 2012 2:19 am

How is this an excuse to get Broner a title? DeMarco is a tough fighter with skill. I think Broner wins but this is a good fight any way you look at it

Posted October 5, 2012 1:46 am

I believe Ponce De Leon already beat Broner but didn’t get the decision. So, I’m not sold on him as being an elite guy just yet. As far as I can tell this is another Bute situation until I see otherwise. The fight with DeMarco should be quite telling.

Posted October 5, 2012 12:01 am

Broner will win this on points, but the matchup was just excuse to get brush boy a title anyway.

Posted October 4, 2012 11:39 pm

Matthysse would box Broner around the ring and TKO him!

Posted October 4, 2012 10:09 pm

I think this will be a much tougher fight than what most people think. Demarco is a tall south paw that will give any lightweight a problem. If demarco uses his height and reach we could see an upset in the making.

Posted October 4, 2012 9:12 pm

good test for Broner

This is a good fight for Broner because he has looked poor vs south paws in the past. He should win but it will be interesting how he handles DeMarco however. Won’t be as easy as many think.

The Mad Scientist

Yes, to much crazy talk from hecdog..first of all Broner has never faced anyone in the level of a Castillo or Corrales like Floyd’ll find those guys (Matthysse, Alvarado, Rios) waiting for the Problem at 140 if he dares to be great..I see shades of Nonito Donaire in Broner were they appear to look amazing to some as long as the overwhelming advantages are in their favor (speed, size, strength and power) I said, it remains to be seen if Broner can slip, duck, dodge and move around the ring like Mayweather when his opponents don’t bounce off of him like they have thus far..

Posted October 4, 2012 7:56 pm

Hecdog u gotta be kidding me. Broner will get off offensively because of the difference in talent it wont be the southpaw style playing into Broners hands but Broner wont have the phillyshell in his toolkit that night thats y ur crazy if u think Broners gonna walk thru Demarco like that. Win or lose Broners in for a tough fight.

Posted October 4, 2012 7:13 pm

I pegged Broner as the BEST prospect in the game LONG ago and I was CORRECT.

Posted October 4, 2012 6:53 pm

the chad

Ponce de Leon schooled this bum broner de Marco gonna twist his tacos real bad but I smell a robbery. Broner bY SD via robbery.

Posted October 4, 2012 6:36 pm

Just turn up to the scales on weight and STFU!

Posted October 4, 2012 6:15 pm

Pac beat Clottey because Clottey never through a punch. When he did throw he landed but all he did was come for a paycheck and that was about it. I like Broner and think this will be a good fight because DeMarco can fight. And this is boxing you are going to get hit.

Posted October 4, 2012 6:12 pm

So not only is broner unbeatable but untouchable like floyd?lol they only bleed & get bruises every now & then when they step up & fight a good fighter like castillo/cotto ponce haha.Don’t’ tell Demarco that he’s planning otherwise.I don’t know whether he wins or loses but he won’t go out without a fight he’ll go down swinging if at all who knows he might just do it.Broner/Demarco closer fight than people expect & fights are judged on effective punches not just accuracy & sissy defense.

Posted October 4, 2012 5:50 pm

looking forward to this fight, he is defiantly the rising star in boxing, needs to check that ego a bit mind you. He’s not cool with it, come across as a prik

Posted October 4, 2012 5:42 pm

Its Me, Ernie

Broner is a jerkoff. As soon as he steps up, he will be stepped on.

Posted October 4, 2012 5:28 pm

Broner is a helluva fighter. I can’t stand his ego and big mouth, but he has those qualities of a great fighter. Specifically, his speed, defense, and he’s a thinker that finds openings on his opponents. He has a big upper body, and has power. DeMarco is a good fighter with a huge heart and always comes to fight, but he’s going to take a beating in this fight. He has length and height, but he doesn’t have any defense and doesn’t punch hard enough to hurt Broner. His last fight against was an illusion and made DeMarco look better than he is. His opponent (can’t recall his name) choked and fell apart. He couldn’t handle the pressure of a big fight. Broner lives for this stuff. It’s simple, Broner beats DeMarco in facet of boxing. Eventually, Broner is going to wear him out and stop him between rounds 9-11. I’ll be pulling for DeMarco, but I’m telling you now, the fight won’t be close, and as Broner says, DeMarco will be lucky to hit him clean once. The southpaw style will play right into Broner’s right hand, but it willbe the left hook that knocks DeMarco out. Take this one to the bank, Broner is the real deal, and he’s going to be a great one.

Posted October 4, 2012 5:10 pm

philly shell

Same strategy as if you were fighting Mayweather – keep throwing until you hit him. It’s why Cotto and Castillo had some success – they let their hands go. It’s the best way to beat a defensive genius – keep punching, keep them blocking, and win the round. Pacquiao beat Clottey (who IS very good defensively) by throwing over 100 punches a round, and he kept Clottey blocking the whole night. Of course easier said than done, my money’s on Broner by TKO.

Posted October 4, 2012 4:58 pm

I find it funny that Broner says Demarco isnt gonna do the one thing he is gonna do and thats touch him. As a southpaw Demarco doesnt have the talent to beat Broner imo but Broners defense will be penetrated by this solid southpaws punches. And for the record i do give Demarco a small chance of scoring the upset. If Ponce can give Broner a tough fight Demarco will also.

The Mad Scientist

It remains to be seen if Broner can slip, duck, dodge and move around the ring like Floyd if he ever faces opponents that he can’t push off of him as easy as he has everyone else thus far..Im not expecting DeMarco to be that guy or anyone else at the 135lbs divison for that matter..anyways, I’ll be rooting for DeMarco, Im expecting him to give Broner all he can handle..hopefully he gets it done and come out with the W but it wont easy..war DeMarco!

Posted October 4, 2012 4:53 pm

Keep fighting smaller men like your idol did with a 38yr 135lb lightweight.Come in 2 or 3 pounds overweight vs escobedo & lose paper belt lol.As good as Demarco is & he will compete with broner but i think 15-20lbs after brush boi rehydrates might be too much for anybody.Demarco is from the streets & has faced much bigger obstacles than this we’ll see what happens.A 126lb ponce gave 150lb+ broner fits/hell what do you think another Warrior in 9lb+ 135b Demarco will do to Broner regardless of size??Hell! win or lose.

Posted October 4, 2012 4:49 pm

Superfeatherweight Pacquiao would destroy Broner. Welterweight Pacquiao would kick Mayweather’s ass.

Posted October 4, 2012 4:23 pm

Broner is the real deal, he will beat Demarco in a good fight. His mouth is what makes him look bad. Hope he goes up to welter and fights Floyd before He retires that would be great,

Posted October 4, 2012 4:05 pm

LOOK at Broner imitating the GOAT in the pic!!! That’s the beginning of GREATNESS.

Posted October 4, 2012 3:36 pm

E in Denver

DeMarco will be the 1st reigning world title holder Broner has faced. Of course Broner deserves credit for facing the best guy in a now weakened division. That could be the reason for the jump as well. Grab a title at a higher weight while the pickings seem good. Broner losing this fight wouldn’t be a huge upset IMO. Given Broner’s history & backing a decision win by DeMarco is unlikely. DeMarco has to win by KO or a wide enough margin that he can’t be robbed. I don’t see that right now. A semi-close fight keeps Broner’s record intact. If Broner blows out DeMarco then he has earned some of the hype.

Box smart

He is overhyped and overrated by a mile, good yes, a talent but nowhere near what people are making out. I would put a lot of money on ricky burns giving broner one hell of a fight

Jake Lead Rights

Herron…Very true about Ponce, he had trouble with a little Feather Weight at 5’5″ that came in at 128 soaking wet. I like DeMarcos chances on this one. Antonio is 5’10” versus Broner 5’7″. Antonio will have the height, weight, and reach advantage along with being a southpaw. The only way I see Broner winning this fight is if he continues with his copy cat profile. If Broner copies Floyd when he fought Ortiz his odds increased. Broner needs to lead with his rights and give DeMarco a steady diet of lead rights. But if he stays on the defensive he’s going to get KO’d. You heard it hear from me KO’d. Broner’s going to lean back to avoid DeMarcos long right Jab and when he comes back in his face is going to be introduced to DeMarcos Left. DeMarco has proven to be a quick start and a pressure fighter he’s not a small light weight he’s a big light weight probably coming in at 148 on fight night. Broner might want to consider coming in heavy again.

Posted October 4, 2012 2:11 pm

The Best!

Broners defense is so over rated. He had trouble against a smallet south paw De Leon, will see how he does against this one.

Posted October 4, 2012 1:45 pm

Joseph Herron

Daniel Ponce De Leon really gave Broner a lot of trouble. Most defensive fighters try to stay away from pressure fighters who throw a high volume of punches.

Adrian will have to use the entire ring in this fight. Not only is DeMarco a pressure fighter with a good chin, he’s also a southpaw.

When a Michigan style defensive fighter rolls away from punches, he rolls to his right side…which is right in the line of fire of a southpaw fighter.

It will be interesting to see if Antonio can take Broner’s best shots though. That’s the biggest question mark in this match-up.

So far, he’s been able to hang with Edwin Valero and Jorge Linares, so I like DeMarco’s chances to at least make this a competitive fight.

Definitely a lot more competitive than most think.

Posted October 4, 2012 1:38 pm

DeMarco had too much trouble with the speed of Valero and even against Linares before he got to him. Broner should be too much too, but a good step up for Broner.

Posted October 4, 2012 1:35 pm

Just in the imagination and desires of the writer Broner will ko DeMarco. And not because DeMarco is good, actually he is a “C Fighter” just like Broner.

Posted October 4, 2012 1:34 pm

Broner is a copy cat nothin original about him.

Broner is untouchable no one as come close to beating him and I don’t think any one ever will just like his hero Floyd Mayweather
