don’t be surprised if ‘Kingpin’ Johnson doesn’t get injured before the fight night and is replaced with some taxi driver punching bag, as per usual with Frank Warren cards of late. Im sure he announces the biggest names he can to sell tickets before stripping it down to the intended card before fight night

Interestingly the WBC rank Chisora 7…Fury 8…..WBA has Chisora 13….IBF has Fury at 7 and the WBO has Chisora 2 and Fury is 7…… they know their boxing stuff or what…..

Chisora is not a top 10. He is somewhere around 15. He did better against VK than arreola another guy who cannot cut it at the elite level of the division and adamek who is a blown up cruiser. Solis came in so fat that he did his own leg. Comparing chisora to these three heavies does not say much. Chisora will never be in the top 10. Why does he not demand a rematch with helenius??? Why does he not demand a rematch against fury??? How about calling out lucus browne, mike perez, takam, Stieverne, Pulev Ustinov. He knows he would lose. I will give him some credit. He would beat leapai.

Chisora might knock him out.

@fan! the piemaker is a tosser!!and a dirty underhanded conman!!! you turd

Posted January 29, 2014 4:47 pm

Chissora wouldn’t be in top 10 at the local YMCA. Outside of k2 only the haymaker is worth watching. IDE like to see wilder and Jennings fight to meet wk. only they’re not ready either

Posted January 29, 2014 1:56 pm

Chisora might be top 10-15 on his best day. Nearer 15.

Posted January 29, 2014 12:21 pm

anonymous is never right!!!!thats why hes on prozac

Posted January 29, 2014 10:01 am

Johnson has the talent to outpoint Chisora but he lacks the necessary mental makeup to win at this level.I expect a dull fight as most of Johnson’s fights are and a points win for Chisora.

Posted January 29, 2014 9:56 am

Quite honestly, Chisora looked very bad in his last fight. Got schocked badly twice, against a fighter I had never heard of. Johnson has much more talent. This could spoil Fury-Chisora II

Posted January 29, 2014 7:40 am

anonymous is correct. Both chisora and johnson are c level. There are plenty of up and comers in the division who are more interesting. These two have failed time and time again. Saying that it should be an classic style match up between an outfighting range jabber and an inside brawler.

Posted January 29, 2014 4:30 am

This fight all depends on Johnson. If he is motivated he will ud a skill limited chisora. If he comes in lazy and unmotivated he will lose.

Posted January 29, 2014 4:26 am

Aussie opinion

Always thought Johnson could be decent contender has skill, power and size but slow and lazy when it comes to training, as for chisora pretty much been been gifted his big fights has no skill fights on aggression alone and has also become lazy…fight could go either way …agree with most comments both fighters are just good competition for current top 10 heavyweights.

They say Willy Pep was so great he once won a round without ever throwing a punch. KJ is trying to out do him by winning a whole fight without throwing a punch.

Fight Aficionado

Key here is Chisora’s weight. Remember his weight problem of years ago has supposedly been resolved now that he has a new strength and conditioning trainer and a proper diet. Scale will tell the tale. If it’s a good weight he’ll win, if it’s too high Johnson could win a snorebore boxing match.

fan sounds like you have some cell experience there

Posted January 28, 2014 8:35 pm

Chisora has gone from an easy fight to a very tricky one

Posted January 28, 2014 8:35 pm

After David haye exposed chissora who really cares about his fights and VK anialated king pin . It’s like buying a movie from the dollar stores. I de have to be on solitary confinement in prison to even turn it on. And that would be just to have some noise in my cell

I Agree question!!Anonymous you need to up your prozac dosage!!you get sadder by the day!!and stop using this site as a crutch

anonymous ever consider looking into an anti-depressant?

Posted January 28, 2014 4:57 pm

This is a solid heavyweight fight at the club level. Neither fighter are world title threats but could compete well with some of the top 10 guys. Matching appears even.

Posted January 28, 2014 3:55 pm

Mr gav

Fury is a fighter who I think keeps improving after every fight, but he has been out of the ring for sometime and a lack of competiton may not be good for him. He has an easy fight so looking forward to see how he performs. The Johnson chisora fight is a set up for fury v chisora 2 which will be much bigger and better but I think Johnson could prove to be a difficult fight for chisora

Posted January 28, 2014 3:47 pm

Niether is top ten world heavyweights.maybe top twenty which is not shabbyThey both can compete with the second tier. The klits, and the others are just too good for either.

Posted January 28, 2014 2:14 pm

Rustybucket…Agree..But lets not forget its not Furys fault that Haye held him up for half the year pulling out of their fight twice.Fury just needs to get back in the ring and get the rust off him…which he is doing.

Posted January 28, 2014 1:49 pm

Chisora vs Johnson is a pretty good fight overall.Johnson has the skill level to beat these guys but is slow to pull the trigger.Chisora could win by applying alot of pressure makeing Johnson looking to only survive. Not a bad match-up…compared to most other fights at heavy.

Posted January 28, 2014 1:32 pm

No I think the slick K. Johnson will win this one and maybe even by a TKO. Johnson is too smooth and good of a Boxer for Chisora. Johnson takes this one, and maybe easily at that.

Posted January 28, 2014 1:30 pm

He’s also a lot better than the guy Fury is fighting.

Posted January 28, 2014 1:30 pm

Johnson is tough to stop. Not sure he has been stopped. He is a helluva lot better than the guy Chisora was originally slated to fight. I pick Chisora by near shutout.

Posted January 28, 2014 12:56 pm

Kingpin is at leat a little better than the bum Chisora wanted to fight first; but still nowhere near HW-Title level, an probalbly alread on the decline.
What’s the point of Fury and Chisora fighting low level opposition. Do they hope they will get a tittle shoot when they are padding their resumes. I suspect, they have a deal: they make look their resume look good, than they hype up their rematch, so just that one of them will get a title shoot at Wlad.

Posted January 28, 2014 11:49 am

Johnson is garbage. All bark and no bite. Chrisora will get rid of him in KO fashion.

Posted January 28, 2014 11:07 am

boxing barlow

I agree, depends on how in shape and up for it Johnson is. Although to be fair to him he’s getting the chances to get his career back on track having had a shot at Fury and now the chance to derail Chisora. I think Fury will do a better job on Chisora scond time round though. He look a more improved fighter whilst Chisora looks ropey.

Posted January 28, 2014 11:04 am

I hope that Johnson comes in motivated and ready to fight. Lately, he has been coming in on short notice and doing enough to lose. A few years ago, he was a handful for anyone, but now, who knows? Of course, anything close goes to Chisora, so it will take some effort for Johnson to win this. Chisora on points in a dull fight.

Posted January 28, 2014 9:01 am

Mr gav

Could be a bananna skin fight for chisora, Johnson has never been stopped and chisora throws a lot of soft punches which could tire him out, chisora lacks any decent jab to out box Johnson and will rely on his work rate, chisoras chin has looked questionable in recent fights and has 2 very debatable stoppages in recent fights so there is a chance Johnson could turn things on late and go for a tko?

Posted January 28, 2014 8:05 am

Johnson should also stay busy, using the jab to set up combinations, never moving straight back, but giving Chisora side to side movement and angles.

Posted January 28, 2014 4:58 am

If Johnson fights the right way and uses that excellent left jab he has to set up combinations, I think he’ll stop Chisora late in the fight. Johnson needs to come in below 240 pounds I think.

Posted January 28, 2014 3:22 am

Surprisingly good choice considering at such short notice. And yes, Wilder will not fight him.

Posted January 28, 2014 2:20 am

Mike Dino

Johnson is showing up only for the paycheck. Chisora by a very, very boring UD.

Posted January 28, 2014 12:34 am

Johnson beat the crap out of leapai and that is the guy wlad is facing for a world title shot. Disgraceful. Chisora vs Johnson, a classic distance fighter vs a inside brawler. Will be a fun fight

Posted January 27, 2014 11:36 pm

Looks like Fury is fighting Chisora again, and Wilder is fighting Scott.

Posted January 27, 2014 9:27 pm

Johnson would knock out Wilder, don’t fight him, fight Malik Scott.

Posted January 27, 2014 9:09 pm

Who is Wilder fighting next, he would not fight Johnson, 10 fights time maybe.

Posted January 27, 2014 9:01 pm

cant get much more boring than this….

Posted January 27, 2014 8:31 pm

Trouble with Johnson is that he’ll probably just be content to go the distance and pick up the cheque at the end of the night.

Posted January 27, 2014 7:55 pm

ggg the best ever

Posted January 27, 2014 7:48 pm

Kingpin is a much better fighter than the guy Chisora was originally going to fight. Smart promoting to come up with a better substitute.
