I really think this kid is unlucky, and the question was not whether you like him or not, Robbed against Peterson and walked on to a KO shot against Garcia, his career is not over far from it, and can and will come back. Needs to stop mixing it up and being in such a hurry to do so… is his downfall. The story is not over with this Kid….and he has shown he has the balls to come back from a defeat, he will do it again.

Boxing Barlow

I genuinely dont think Amir Khans chin is THAT bad. Obviously he’s not like a Chis Eubank granite chin, but theres a ton of fighters out there that have had awsome careers and are now described as all time great who were KO’d at different parts in their careers. Maidna has very heavy hands and landed on Khan flush time and time again and he managed to keep going, and while he did get KO’d by Garcia he was on his feet when stopped. For me this shows that whilst as ive said he does not have a granite chin, he also does not have a glass one either. I seem to remember Pacman getting KO’d twice, Joe Lewis getting KO’d by Max smelling earlier in his career, Hearns got KO’d by leanord then Hagler, getting KO’d is just a reality of boxing.

Dan Birmingham would be perfect for him.

I like this website for keeping up-to-date with the latest boxing news etc but some of these articles are of a very low journalistic standard. This one reads like nothing more than one of the many posts underneath it. This site needs a serious shake-up!!!

The Mad Scientist

A mere Con has no punching resistance period, it doesn’t matter where the punches land on him he can’t take it..

Big George

Floyd Sr. is the answer! Defense, patients and ring savvy. But Amir probably isn’t smart enough to comprehend Sr. or his style of teaching…

Khan lacks boxing brains, Steward could pass on years of experience/wisdom but Khan is just too dim (in boxing terms) to use it or benefit from it.there is almost an accepted way to fight Khan now, he can be drawn in easily enough. Maidana did it, Peterson did it and Garcia did it… do not try to counter Khan and do not try and rush Khan just punch WITH him. as soon as he opens up then open up with him, he lunges in with his chin in the air and that is a hard habit to break in the heat of battle…

Khan’s problem is that he makes too many tactical mistakes, getting carried away. He ignores that his opponent tries to take him out with single big haymakers, timing him. He brawls when he gets hit just to show off “hey, I wasn’t hurt!” when he is. If he doesn’t quit that, he has no business at the top unless he fights folks with no punch at all.

Comparing khan and wlad is just silly, Khan has always been a protected hyped fighter, Wlad is not running away from fighters in the hw division, he is dominating them.
Khan on the other hand is a hyped, protected fighter, fighting smaller fighters and still getting ktfo.
Khan should be lucky he managed to fool so many people and earning that money before his naive fans could really see the obvious truth, he will never be a elite fighter.

Amen, couldn’t have said it better

Wlad hit the deck heavily, twice against Sanders, that’s worse than stumbling about.

Awaiting Moderation

Good for Haye. Too bad he was thoroughly outclassed in the rest of the fight.

The Kingslayer

Wlad’s chin is fine despite the multiple stoppages and knockdowns lol ok then, and Haye buzzed him with that shot.

The Kingslayer

Well he did help Lennox and Wlad but then again they were giant HW’s with one punch KO power. This relationship would probably be as succesful as the Jermain Taylor one.

Wlad has never been truly koed stumbling around like a drunk. He got stopped, Khan and Lewis get koed. Wlads chin is fine, Haye hit him flush with his best and didn’t budge him. Khan is literallywalking on jello.

Manny Steward can and has helped all types of boxers. He is very capable and able to correct the whole nine about Amir Khan.

Posted August 4, 2012 5:38 pm

khan is too single minded to be taught defence, he knows best hes amir khan.

Posted August 4, 2012 5:22 pm

Mr Jack

Who writes this mess? I get tired of hearing this crap.. every time a boxer gets knocked out that its the end of the road. People act like these boxers cant adapt and overcome. You gotta understand that Khan is young and still has a lot to learn. I believe if his heart is into it and his mindset is right he could become champion again.
Remember Wladimir Klitchko has been knocked out pretty good a few time and managed to come back and dominate the heavyweight division.

I can help Khan. Fill his mouth with concrete. Not only will it reinforce his china chin, we won’t have to listen to his babbling ever again. Win/Win.

Posted August 4, 2012 4:32 pm

There’s a lot of talk about his chin, however, he didn’t get hit on the chin by Garcia. Setting his questionable chin asides, he has no choice but to move up in weight. His body has outgrown the 140 pound division and if he wants to continue his career, he must fight at 147.

Also, I understand why trainers like Roach and Steward always come up when someone is in search of a trainer, but there are many trainers out there that can help Khan to use his boxing skills to his advantage. Though, IMO, Roach is on the decline and can’t do much for Khan, Steward may only work with him in a part time basis as he try to do with Cotto and may not be the best choice.

Khan can come back from his recent defeats. If Manny Pac can come back after getting knocked out so can Khan. Nowadays in Boxing is all about the matchmaking and the marketing.

Only a rewired jaw like Abraham’s can help Kahn,

Posted August 4, 2012 4:23 pm

Khan needs a defensiv guru Stewart is an offensive guru

Tomato Can

No one can help Khan but Khan really; but, if he can find a trainer to help him fight smart, and use his advantages, he’ll be better off. Is Steward that guy, maybe, but he’ll have to share him, which is something he’s already complained about. Still no matter who he gets as a trainer won’t matter, if he ops to stand and trade punches. That being said, I think Steward stands could help him, if he’s willing to listen.
