Dionysus Proksa is crud Euro level at best,as proven.

I think Mora is a very good technical fighter. Everyone who has sparred against him insists that he is probably the most underrated technician in boxing.

Including Saul Canelo Alvarez.

Posted August 29, 2013 5:36 am

Lol, I don’t care for him but I respect him after he beat Proksa. I like Proksa and the style he fights with. He’s a slick lil’ ba$tard.

NO. Go away Mora. Nobody wants to watch him dance around all night.

Been a UFC and boxing fan for a long time. With UFC you have kicking, ground fighting and boxing, your whole body has to be ready for anything. I think it’s much harder to remain Champ in the UFC than in boxing. IMHO.

It seems like Mora is moving forward very slowly. It must be really hard to get fights.

Posted August 28, 2013 12:32 pm

Quillen hasn’t come out with any excuses.

Thanks for clearing that up for me dwc. Appreciate it when people can actually give a legit response. Thank you sir

mayweather 86…No I didnt mean theres anything wrong with some weed once in awhile, myself I gave it up years ago.I meant the music I listened to stoned years ago,is ofcourse different then what the young people listen to today was just compareing boxing years ago, before UFC and MMA,and today the way boxing and MMA compete and how UFC and MMA are geared toward the younger people the atmosphere in their events. How sometimes boxing fans and MMA fans differ because it can be a age thing between the two fans of the sports.Anyway good luck in your boxing!!!

Golovkin would love to fight Quillin, but Quillin always has an excuse………..

I think it’s just all talk. Made for good interview

Posted August 28, 2013 12:12 am

Hi everyone, just found this on an article and wanted to ask and see how much of this do you all think is true??:——–>

“Floyd Mayweather Sr. isn’t particularly concerned about the rumors. Matter of fact, he doesn’t even find them credible. That’s because Sr. might actually have a SPY embedded in Alvarez’s camp.

“It’s a bunch of BS,” Floyd Sr. declared to Chris Robinson. “That’s all it is, a bunch of BS. … I’m getting knowledge myself of what’s going on. I’m getting a whole bunch of knowledge about what’s going on. He tells his trainers what to do and his weight is still way up there. Like I said, none of that stuff is true they’re talking about.”

Posted August 28, 2013 12:03 am

@philly shell – “Hmmm, why wouldn’t Quillin want to fight an opponent who runs around all night not fighting, while holding and making both guys look bad, and ending in a close but boring decision?”

Your point is correct, but at the same time, it’d be good (fairly safe) training for a Martinez fight (thought the same for Golovkin-Mora when the fight looked to be an option prior to the Macklin one being made).
Although they’re not greatly similar, learning to hunt down a slippery guy like Mora would go a long way to learning how to catch up with Martinez, without the danger of any real firepower coming back.

Dwc. Whats wrong with being stoned every now and again…I smoke a fat one before every fight. However she with you on the hip-hop. Not much for that. Not now anyways late 80s-99,00 is about it for me. The stuff they have today is garbage. Anyways quillen will win going away but as many have already said it will be a stinker

Posted August 27, 2013 7:32 pm

I see no point in a Quillin/Mora fight, unless Quillin can’t find absolutely anyone else. How about Andy Lee? Lee is a damn good fighter with good power, skills and durable. In fact, Lee was giving Chavez Jr. all he could handle until the boom landed!

Quillin VS Geale would work well next!

I’ll watch the ufc from time to time but generally only the big fights, or names I recognize. You would have to call me a casual fan of that sport but fighting is fighting to me. Just out of curiosity how did this come up anyways

I like Rosado but he hasn’t really done anything to get a shot at 160. He should stay at 154.

Quillin can get in some rounds w/ Mora. But it won’t make for a watchable fight unless(cue the obligatory headline) “Can Quillin be the first to KO Mora?” Nobody really looks good vs. Mora. Add to this Mora hasn’t done anything to warrant a title shot. Rosado deserves another title shot after getting robbed on Jr’s undercard vs one of Jr’s fighters.

The only person who wants a piece of the Golovkin pie is that ugly little stumpy hobbit Curtis Stevens. He’s got a real big mouth and very soon he’s going to be getting a mouthful of Kazakh fist in it.

Nobody wants to watch Mora fight. I’d rather put Andre Ward vs Allan Green on repeat than tune into one of that Latino stick insect’s snoozefests again. His style is uglier than B-Hop in drag. As for Kid Quillins, he should rematch that African street vendor who was boxing his ears off every second he was vertical. Only this time go over to his country to do it where the kid won’t feel the need to stand and trade with you everytime he got hurt for fear of getting stitched up on the scorecards.

Posted August 27, 2013 11:45 am

Mora is a good “stay busy” fight while Quillin waits for bigger matches.

As much as I think this will be a giant waste of time for quillen, if you can’t find an opponent then whatever. Can’t help but asking why not ggg? I can understand not fighting Murray with the visa issues, but he’s more than deserving and should have gotten the nod over Martinez. I think ggg vs quillen will be the end game for unification as long as quillen don’t avoid him

Posted August 27, 2013 9:24 am

Kid CHOC CHOC would kill this guy. It sucks that Peter is stuck without a strong fighter due to all this he haw BS.

TARK, you are going off the deep end letting Peter dump in your rear….LMAO

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

DWC: Totally agree with your last post. I just watched the Maravilla vs. Murry fight again yesterday and it’s obvious that Murray won that fight.

It was ridiculous that they ruled the second knockdown a slip. Even Roy Jones, Kellerman and the other commentator were convinced it was a legit knockdown before and after viewing it in slow-mo.

But Murray won anyway — even without getting credit for the second knock down. He outboxed Martinez 8 rounds to 4, and one of those rounds was officially a 10-8. You do the math.

Maravilla a was awarded a gift-wrapped decision because of extremely poor scoring by the Latino judges mixed with some home town cooking. But Murray knows in his heart that he truly beat Martinez, and that’s partially why he doesn’t fear fighting Quillin one bit. To say that Murray ducked Quillin is beyond ridiculous and I’m not even a Murray fan.

3G will destroy ALL of these MWs including Maravilla, Murray, Chocolate, Barker and Geale. Real talk!

MNboxingFAN – Sean

Quillin should fight him. Mora has a name and is coming off a pretty big win for himself. Why not? Make some money and get a name on your record. Kid Chocolate is for real though and in my opinion one of the best fighters fighting right now… he’s in my top five for sure. It’ll be “Mora’s honor” to get knocked the hell out…

Posted August 27, 2013 6:56 am

I would like to offer my services to Quillin too as his cum dumpster.

Posted August 27, 2013 5:45 am

Murray just fought Sergo the best middlewt. out there (GGG will be but on paper not yet) in his backyard, and kicked his ass.Ofcourse Murray was ripped-off with home cookin judges, but after that you call him a coward….cmon.

Correctamundo: Murray never turned Quillen down Poxy Poxton(Hatton promotions did it. Murray should kick Hatton into touch & hook up with Matchroom!

Posted August 27, 2013 3:31 am

Quillin just offered to go to the UK to face Martin Murray but got turned down. Murray is a SISSY. How do you turn down a Championship Fight in your own backyard?? Go take a COURAGE class.

Posted August 27, 2013 2:57 am

Don’t look for Herron to agree with any of you guys on this he’s apparently a Golden Boy and Top Rank apologist. Maybe IF he says anything bad about either one they won’t allow their Fighters to be interviewed by him….in that case keep ignoring the obvious Herron. We DO need those interviews….We will DO the complaining FOR you. Top Rank and Golden Boy need to keep the fans in mind instead of catering to their own SISSYFIED feelings toward each other.

Posted August 27, 2013 2:55 am

How’s about Quillin takes on another champion,GGG or Martin Murray an actual live opponent, he would beat him and get ta world title of which he’s been robbed of arguably twice.

Posted August 27, 2013 2:25 am

That’s the whole reason UFC picked up alot of steam all at once. No promotional politics to keep the fights that should happen from moving forward.

Posted August 26, 2013 11:50 pm

However, seems to me that the way to solve the problem so Quillin can fight other top middleweights is for the sanctioning bodies to designate mandatory challengers that are from the HBO stable. Then enforce their rules regarding mandatory bouts. It’s curious how the promoters have managed to get around this.

Posted August 26, 2013 11:15 pm

“None of the other Middleweights want to leave HBO…Quillin is screwed.”

This demonstrates my point about the rivalry between Top Rank and GBP. I don’t think it’s just about having weight division monopolies, it’s also about one promoter trying to shut down the other, one promoter not giving in to the other. IN other words, middleweight monopoly or no, GBP still won’t work with Top Rank to make the fights that Quillin needs.

You are right Joseph, Quillin is screwed.

Posted August 26, 2013 11:10 pm

I don’t really have a problem here with Mora. He didn’t trash talk but he’s confident,.. Hell, as a boxer you have to be! I think he looked good against Proksa. I don’t think he beats Kid Chocolate but it would be a good scrap. Why not?

Posted August 26, 2013 10:48 pm

Stop. Mora is a major step backwards.
