Juanma always looked suspect/vulnerable even when he was knocking guys out, one could see that he would struggle against guys who can take his punch or boxed better than him.

SREDMOND – he surely looked damaged in this fight.. time will tell…

Posted June 19, 2013 7:25 pm

PE, a fighter who gets knocked out 3 years in a row is likely toast and Roy Jones was 3 rounds ahead of the curve in discussing how Bad Lopez was looking as it pertains to his balance.. Juanma fights like a damaged fighter and if it took guys going out on stretchers for a boxer to show signs of decline most wouldn’t… Lopez is finished and every decent fighter with some pop is gonna test that chin..

Ernie, your tastes are based on your like and dislikes of fighters… You are not a Klit fan so you think I’m a genius for calling them out, you hate Ward so you detest me giving him respect for his achievements I’m NOT bipolar YOU are…

It’s Me, Ernie

SREDMOND, are you bi-polar or something? About a third of your posts are right on the money, yet the other two thirds resemble Tards with little or no substance, self righteous and waaaay off track. Keep up the semi-good work…

PE, you’re tripping Juanma has the look of an EARLY STAGE Meldrick Taylor all the attributes that made him a force earlier are deserting him Serial KOs are always a BAD sign.. I’m not hopeful Chad Dawson is gonna be anything he’s taking too many stoppage losses..

Posted June 18, 2013 8:57 pm

Lopez has taken too many headshots Roy Jones called it perfectly Juanmas balance is GONE he reacts terribly to punches and even his accuracy was tragic….The guys has gotten stopped 3x and hurt a lot more… He’s topped out, but will continue to take beatings because he has a bit of a name and like most has to make money…

It’s Me, Ernie

Now? He’s been toast for a while now, as I have stated…

Posted June 18, 2013 5:25 pm

Juanma simply doesn’t have it anymore, did you see his legs during the fight?? They were EVERYWHERE, his balance was terrible, he was flailing, swinging and missing wildly….I couldn’t believe how bad he looked, he lost every second of the fight and was KO’d….it’s OVER for him!

I do believe his going down to 126lbs basically spent the past 5 weeks getting his weight down with ZERO real training… had a big effect on his poor performance.. Zero Power and Zero Balance.. looked out on his feet when the Bell rang..

PRDancer – I don’t know that JuanMa needs to retire, he’s still young and didn’t take a real beating vs Garcia just got caught good with a couple of shots.. I do believe his going down to 126lbs basically spent the past 5 weeks getting his weight down with ZERO real training… He’s already said retirement is out of the question and he gave Garcia total credit for the win… no excuses.. He needs to move back to 130 or higher change trainers and work on any kind of defense, head movement and Boxing skillls… He’ll have a career as a gate keeper and may surprise a couple here and there.. I believe the Salido fights were much more damaging for him and Salido who also has not been the same since they had those Wars…

Too Smooth – agree, Zero new anything, just more of the same bad techniques which got him in trouble with Salido.. backing up straight up.. no head movement, leaning forward, the problem with these PR Boxers is that they’re too loyal to their Trainers because they’ve usually been with them since they were small and see them as family. but they need to understand this is a business and there comes a time when you have to elevate the level of your trainer if you expect to reach another level…

Juanma showed no: reflexes, speed, defense, and less of a chin,,,Salido cracked his chin for good,,,to be blown out of the ring in that fashion says a lot about how much Juanma has in the tank,,,the best choice for Juanma is to retired now before he ends up brain damage,,,he already shows signs of slow speech and slow reflexes,,,Juanma made good money for being a puncher without skills,,,Juanma was a Warrior in the ring, no quit in him,,a credit to him,,,but when a boxer could take his punch trouble was to come for him,, Salido had 14 loses,,,no greatness in Salido,,just a hard nose tough guy,,,Salido busted the “Greatness” bubble Arum had Juanma in,,,I hope he retires and enjoys his money,,Peace

I could care less what Rafael says. He is no expert. Simply a guy with a typewriter.

He looks like he got shot in that Photo! Goddamnit!!

Posted June 17, 2013 7:51 pm

Juanma is not definitely not shot! He gave Salido hell before losing to him and Mikey is just on another level Juanma on any day would NEVER beat Mikey. Juanma used to coming forward and blasting out his opponents. Salido was never as strong or hit as hard as Juanma, but he was tougher. Mikey never even really had to box he hits harder and faster than Juanma, but he’s a smart fighter another thing Juanma never was. Juamma was never damaged like Cotto was. Just lost to great fighters. If Juanma lost to Rocky Martinez or any other 2-3rd tier fighter safe to say heS done. I wouldn’t be surprised if Juanma beat Sslido in a 3rd match. Juamma wasn’t dehydrated or fighting gisnts like Cotto was.

Fight Aficionado

Unfortunately I have to agree Juanma is shot. He got in great physical shape judging by his lack of weight issues. But the series of KOs have taken a toll and he’s a shell of himself at a young age. Now his punchy resistance is gone and he’s getting manhandled. It’s a hard way to make a living.

If you are shot you are done….no tune up fight or what so ever. Not unless you have a death wish!

Posted June 17, 2013 6:38 pm

It’s Me, Ernie

You were wrong, Juanma had two tune up bouts in the interim…

Posted June 17, 2013 5:57 pm

I said it a long time ago, Juanma should have had a tune-up fight, he had two beatings from Salido, then 1 year lay off and jumping right into the ring with Garcia? Someone gave him bad advise, period.

philly shell

That left hook that finished him was a beauty.

Simply put, juanma showed up for a paycheck; he simply looked amateurish and didn’t put effort into his game. He was completely off. “mikey” needs to start fighting opponents who come to fight and not just a check. I can think of Mares, Rigondeaux and Donaire to name a few. Fighting damaged fighters will only impress the fatheads but not the majority of the boxing fans who appart from having common sense are not the sort to believe the hype.

Posted June 17, 2013 1:29 pm

The fact mikey (isn’t this a childs name?) “beat” a damaged and old Juanma can only translate into the fact that mikey is not as good some might have you believe. Think about it, how can you be considered the best when you’re not even fighting the best. There was a time Juanma was in his prime but fatheads making a big deal about mikey beating a damaged fighter are not only ignorant but are genetically foolish.

That’s a great pic of juanma, the ref just needs to get him a blanket tuck him in and give him his pacifier….sweet dreams Juanma
