Light welterweight, Gabriel Duluc (8-1, 1KO) will look to get 2014 off to a good start as he headlines the main event at the Dorchester Armory in Dorchester, Massachusetts this Saturday, April 26th in a six round bout against experienced veteran, Josh “Steamin” Beeman (5-15, 2KOs).

Duluc suffered an extremely controversial loss in his last outing against Jonathan Perez. He was knockdown at the end of the first round but was up well before the ten count ended and ready to fight, yet referee, Leo Gerstel stopped the bout, giving Perez the technical knockout victory and handed Duluc his first professional loss.

“I got knockdown with a great punch, yet I got up quickly and was ready to box, but unfortunately the referee didn`t see it that way,” said Duluc. “I can`t dwell too much on that last fight because everything happens for a reason and that loss has made me a better boxer.”

The 24 year old with blazing speed and smart countering punching ability that comes from different angles, worked extremely hard at the Grealish Boxing Club with his trainer, Martin Grealish on improving his skills, as he looks to get back into the win column.

“I had a great training camp and I`m ready to go for this bout. I look forward to staying active this year and regain the momentum that I had before my last outing,” said Duluc.

The Boston, Massachusetts native had an outstanding amateur career where he recorded a 55-5 record. He held the Ringside Title in 2005 and 2006 and won the Title Boxing Champion in 2006.

This fight event includes two other young Boston boxing prospects in Michael McLaughlin and Carlos Candelario. McLaughlin, the 29 year old light middleweight from Donegal, Ireland is 7-1-1, 4KOs and won his last four bouts. Candelario is 3-1, 1KO and had his unbeaten streak stopped by Beeman in his last outing. Both fighters` opponents will be announced shortly and they will be boxing in a six and four round bouts, respectively.

In addition to these three professional matchups there will be 11 amateur fights, ten of which will feature a team from Northern Ireland against various boxers from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. It also features Maureen O` Brien, a female New England Golden Gloves Champion in her last bout before she travels to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete for the National Golden Gloves.
