Eric, you are certainly NOT trying to challenge the bounds of your limited cleverness :(…. Put a little work into sounding like one of my many pissed off groupies…!

Posted March 19, 2013 3:51 pm

Of course Steward is going to speak on Peter, he was Wlads trainer dummy…. Wlad kept ducking down awkwardly to avoid contact so of course there were going to be some awkward shots… No matter Wlad got knocked down 3 times against Peter, 2x by Sanders 1 time by Brewster and once by Williams or Williamson during a 7 or 8 fight span..No excuses Peter put Wladdy down and had him damn near out of boxing had he lost…

Posted March 19, 2013 3:01 pm

Dg- I didn’t see prov rabit punch one single time. That’s all sam peter did. Its illegal. Emmanuel steward is on video saying the same thing. So I don’t see the parrallels there. Dan rafael refers to rabit punches in that bout to. No rabit punhes in provodnikov vs bradley sorry

Hidalgo, we will probably be back to spatting in 0.5 seconds but Marquez is an incredible counterpuncher and it was clear like when Mayweather walked a tired and beat up Ricky Hatton into that shot that JMM had set Manny up in that moment and delivered the game ender… I agree not too many fighters taking those puchers and bleeding so much could think so well under fire… But as we all know this is a Marquez trait displayed more than once against Pacquiao, Katsidis, Diaz, Barrera and others he is most dangerous when hurt…

Posted March 19, 2013 9:38 am

“JMM lined him up and turned his lights out there is NO excuse in the world worth crafting for that surgical piece of business…” You got that right. Marquez had that punch on his mind for at least the last two fights between them. Only Juan Manuel Marquez could weather the storm he was receiving from Manny Pacqiao in order to land a devastating KO punch like that.

Posted March 19, 2013 9:20 am

Pacquiao got ROBBED against Bradley and that was clear to pretty much everyone but the activist judges that night… As for Pacquiao getting knocked out by Marquez that was just poetry in motion when JMM lined him up and turned his lights out there is NO excuse in the world worth crafting for that surgical piece of business…

stupid loser

A lot of people are riding the MP loss to Bradley like it was the crime of the century….please. I like Manny, but the truth is, I saw a sluggish version of MP in with Bradley.I found it to be a very close fight. I figured it was a 1 off fight for MP. A prime MP would have made for a quick night with Bradley. Then he shows up with JMM and gets KO’d because he lost focus. Signs that can indicate MP is past his prime. . Point is, the Bradley – Pacquiao fight was close where rounds could go either way. Not like say the Martinez – Cintron fight, where it was an obvious robbery.

Posted March 18, 2013 10:57 pm

I think most keen observers would realise that Bradley probably would not have chosen to fight like that had he actually won legitimately against Manny, i think thats just the type of guy he is. He got a gift so he felt he had to pay the piper, and he probably thought who better to do it against then someone also recognised as being a power puncher in Providnikov. Bradley did not choose to trade as much with Manny like he did with Providnikov because he new he was in there with a very experienced proffessional fighter, unlike Providnikov who has only had 15 or so fights. This is probably the other reason Bradley was so gung-ho…It almost back-fired on him, and I agree with some posters here who say the fight could have been stopped earlier, but it didnt and Bradley was allowed to continue probably to the detriment of his long term health. But, these things happen, Bradley pulled it off against Providnikov (just) and conversley Manny didnt against Marquez when he probably felt he had something to prove…

Posted March 18, 2013 10:35 pm

Sorry of the parallels sting guys but making my point is my business!! And it was not 15 years ago when Wlad lacked the sack that Bradley showed, big man like that crumbled 2x during a 5 fight span…Bradley showed REAL HEART

Posted March 18, 2013 9:22 pm

Michael Bentt didn’t come out too well against Herbie Hyde.

Posted March 18, 2013 6:21 pm

Why are you guys alluding to long past heavyweight fights?

Posted March 18, 2013 6:19 pm

Right SRedmond and it’s not like Lewis getting ko’d by McCall or Rahman either.

Posted March 18, 2013 6:15 pm

Bears, YOU being “sure” of anything makes me “sure” its NOT worth a damn… Bradley had been a P4P fighter and he is STILL undefeated… This is NOT Wlad Klitschko getting knocked senseless by Purrity, Sanders, or Brewster… Timmy Bradley has balls and he will recover just like he did the night in question….Klitschko was slaughtered by a BUM in Purrity and a borderline journeyman in Sanders… Bradley had what it took to recover, get the victory, give his opponent praise and still remain undefeated… Not standing around getting knocked out like Klits 2x in fight fights…If Wlad could recover from the beatings he took we KNOW Bradley can…

Posted March 18, 2013 4:39 pm

LOL. bradley wont be making a career off recovering chump sauce. in fact im sure bradleys career is diminished after that beating. i would put my money on it. so that being said, i doubt there is any way to spin this positively for b-rad. he just fought a guy ranked number 43. lol. who probably smoke bradleys career and health through the beating he gave b-rad. isnt the number 3 “suppose” to beat number 43 handily? not get his career and health harvested by powerhouse provodnikov the soul reaper at 147. lol

Posted March 18, 2013 3:03 pm

the fact that round one wasnt scored 10-8 is beyond ridiculous. and that ended up being the difference in the official score with majority of the judges. i think this fight was called terrible all around. all i know is i will be watching powerhouse provodnikov from now on. he’s the soul reaper at 147. ranked number 43 and putting on the powerhouse show!

Posted March 18, 2013 2:59 pm

Bears, OF COURSE you will stick of a fantasy outcome because you have the mind of an infant who simply dismisses FACTS that don’t jibe with his world view… Thankfully the boxing Gods have MORE balls than you and allow fighters who can continue to do so… We ALL know you would allow the fighters you like to continue and STOP the ones you don’t…. Arturo Gatti spent have his career recovering and all his epic fights were built off his ability to recuperate, Evander Holyfield also had pitched battles where he had to recover and take back the play from his opponent… Great fights result from guys going beyond the norm, if Bradley was that hurt then Ruslan would have knocked him out, but he could NOT and thus he ultimately lost the fight… Nothing worse than a silly activist that would do ANYTHING to rob a fighter of his just do… Bradley was the Champion and Ruslan was a nobody if anyone deserved the benefit of the doubt it’s the Champion… thats boxing moron

Posted March 18, 2013 2:47 pm

Lee and whoever-I see your views and opinions and i disagree. what did you say “bradley was bradley hurt” lol. good one. even if you messed up there. bouts are waved off and stopped when a fighter does what bradley did. im gonna stick with the views and opinions i described below. round one stoppage win for powerhouse provodnikov followed by the soul reaping of bradley and the destruction of his career. provodnikov harvested everything from bradley and i doubt bradley feels it was worth it or his fans. it was as everyone understands a Pyrrhic victory for bradley officially but i dont agree bradley won at all. number 43 wooped up on number 3. changed bradleys quality of life and his career for good.

Posted March 18, 2013 2:32 pm

Bears, is the EPITOME of a joke he would rather have a Champion stopped prematurely so that Provodnikov could book a theoretical and beyond controversial win than see a back and forth battle where BOTH guys showed a ton of will and heart…That ref would have been run out of boxing if he stopped the fight in the first round when a well conditioned athlete like Bradley was in the mix… He made the right call because the fight turned out to be excellent and Bradley while absorbing some monster shots pounded Ruslans face to mush and ultimately did the MOST important thing!! HE won the fight ESPN had the bout 114-112 for Bradley and thats about right, Ruslan saw his stock rise and me might get another good payday out of this… But this Scamsters desire to see Bradley yanked out because he was “hurt” in the first round is just crazy…

Posted March 18, 2013 2:28 pm

Bears your a joke. It was a knockdown, the ref blew the call but the ref made the proper call in allowing the fight to continue. Boxing is a brutal sport, Bradley was Bradley hurt but at the same time he continued to fight back. The only time in the fight where I would of legitimately considered stopping the fight was the 12th round but Bradley took a knee at the perfect time the ref would of and should of jumped in if Bradley just stood their and continued to get hit. Bradley is a survivor, he is in tremendous condition with decent skills and most importantly he knows how to win rounds. Bradley out worked and out landed ruslan. The fight is not judged in its entirety its judged round by round and on that basis Bradley got the deserving win. Even if you gave ruslan the extra knockdown I still had Bradley by a point.

Posted March 18, 2013 2:19 pm

“Provodinikov needs to go back to the drawing board and get him some finishing SKILLS. Then he might be a force to be reckoned with…” LMAO! It was clear that Bradley is the one who needed to get him some finishing skills as he was almost “finished” several times in the fight, especially in the 12th round! Provodnikov clearly proved he was a “force to be reckoned with” if only for one night. You don’t have to admit it Braggadamus. We all saw it with our own eyes. So did Tim Bradley. There was absolutely no reason that Bradley had to fight the way he did in the 12th round. All he had to do was stay away from Ruslan and he would have had a much more significant win. Bradley’s trainer Diaz did not do enough to emphasize that point to Timothy. LMAO! I’d say Provodnikov finished Tim Bradley very well, thank you.

Posted March 18, 2013 2:15 pm

BEARS, what is your problem? Can’t you just be greatful for a great fight? Do you think this is the first time a Referee blew a call on a knockdown? Got some news for you, it won’t be the last time. The fight is scorred in a 10-9 points system for 12 rounds. If you go by who hurt the other most in a single round, sure Prov would’ve won, but that’s not how we score boxing matches.

Posted March 18, 2013 2:14 pm

that first round was literally two back to back knockdowns. FIGHT OVAH!!!! by way of first round stoppage face plant style

Posted March 18, 2013 2:08 pm

when bradley was knocked down and then zab judah’ed into a face plant that fight was over. had it been called correctly that fight was over. in my eyes powerhouse provodnikov won in the first round. it doesnt matter. bradley suffered severely. theres no doubt in my eyes he wont be the same ever again. powerhouse provodnikov harvested bradleys soul in that one. im sure bradley will have headaches for the rest of his life. but to me. provodnikov won that fight by first round stoppage. after that he ruined bradley. either way it was a Pyrrhic victory for bradley officially but i dont give him the nod. again in my eyes powerhouse provodnikov won.

Posted March 18, 2013 2:05 pm

such a great fight. I was already a fan, but I hope Bradley has a lot more after that one! Provodnikov too! I can’t wait to see both of these guys fight again! Nothing says a great fight like drama. I like the ring announcer (not sure if it was Kellerman or Lampley) who said after the fight, “That was Rocky!!”

Posted March 18, 2013 1:57 pm

No clue, ruslan punched himself out he was out of gas after round 2. He was too tired to put the pressure on.

Posted March 18, 2013 1:55 pm

What planet is SILLY Bears one when he says that “Bradley was not throwing punches” then how according to his favorite tool did he rack up 1000 punches thrown for the fight?? How ever they sent in between rounds to impersonate Bradley sure did a GREAT job!! Champiosn are allowed to fight on Bradley was give the appropriate chance and he responded by busting Providnikov up to the point where Roach was telling Kellerman on camera he might have to pull him out of there… ONLY a BITTLER loser of a fight watcher (NOT fan) like Bears would have wanted us to see Bradley stopped prematurely in the first round so that this unheralded fighter could get the win… What a ridiculous STANCE, the ref did what he was supposed to, Arturo Gatti had been in 1000 times worse shape on God knows how many occasions it was the 1st round you don’t shut a Champion down because some creep from Illinois wants to see Providnkov win…Only Bears would try and find a way to ROB fans and Bradley of an opportunity he made the most of…

Posted March 18, 2013 1:52 pm

Chicago guy

Pacquiao knocked out compliment of JMM doesn’t bother any strange feeling of dizziness or concussed but this one Bradley admitted that he was dizzy and disoriented. It was dangerous situation as compared to Panquiao single blow than to Bradley’s head smashe several times.

Posted March 18, 2013 12:22 pm

Peej- bradley was not throwing punches after the knockdown. He did the zab judah and transitioned into a reverse face plant with his arms stretched out like a bird. Like the beginning of a swan dive. Lol. That’s when the fight WAS OVAH! That fight was done there. Over. Ko win for provodnikov. First round. Before bradley landed sickum. Every article u read concerning the fight starts off by saying that was not called right by the ref. Lol. So that’s the reality

SREDMOND, we certainly agree on the outcome, Bradley won on points. His work through the middle rounds gave him the victory. Big Kudos to both fighters for going to war.

Chicago guy, I do agree with you that Bradley should see a brain surgeon. He took way too many big blows.

Posted March 18, 2013 9:53 am

As much as we want to harp on the obvious hurt that Ruslan put on Bradley, a quick look at Ruslans face tells us the was taking a BEATING as well.. He was bleeding and obviously BADLY swollen post fight… Ruslans blows were harder but Bradleys FAR more numerous… Guys want to whine about a really terrific gut check bout where both men showed a ton of character, but truth be told Bradley dug deep and found a way to win…

Posted March 18, 2013 9:47 am

I’m afraid Tim won’t be champ much longer…..too many tough fights ahead for him

Posted March 18, 2013 9:37 am

no clue

Ruslan had this fight in the bag but inexplicably let up the pressure from the 2 round onwards… had he kept rolling on like a locomotive with those big shots Bradley would have been toast.. hope Bradley will not wind up permanently damaged from this fight.. his punch resistance is not so special to allow him to engage in this type slugfests

Posted March 18, 2013 8:58 am

If they still had 15 rounders, we would have a new champ and badly damaged brad.

Posted March 18, 2013 8:26 am

Oh for the good old days when they had 15 rounders for title fights. Provodnikov would
ko’d brad.

Posted March 18, 2013 8:23 am

Ghetto tadpole,That body blows of Bradley got no effect to Ruslan the most effective were those blows by Ruslan that almost knock Bradley out. Ropes and the referee saved Bradley’s ass and gifted the win. Bradley is very lucky fighter of winning the fight by charity hahahahahaha

Posted March 18, 2013 8:17 am

Bradley need to see his brain surgeon to be sure that his brain is not damaged compliment of Ruslan iron fist. Ghetto tadpole and stupid loser will be lonely if his boy is can’t fight no more.

Posted March 18, 2013 8:13 am

Bradleys damned is he does and damned if he doesnt, hes either in snoozers when he boxes or nearly gets clocked in entertaning fights if he trades..he gets more fans with one but also loses more braincells and the other he wins but puts people to sleep at the same time…

Posted March 18, 2013 6:41 am

Bradley’s current boxing skills will not help him in a rematch against Provodnikov.
Provodnikov is a wicked body puncher. I don’t know why he didn’t touch Bradley’s body.
This comes to show how amateurish Provodnikov’s corner truly is. Unless Bradley ups his skill to the level of a Mayweather, Broner or Ward, he will lose the belt in the rematch. The rematch will not last more than 6 rounds if Provodnikov taps the body early.

Posted March 18, 2013 3:56 am

stupid loser

Other thing of note as well were some of those body blows Bradley tagged Prov with would have made many people wilt.

Posted March 18, 2013 2:47 am

stupid loser

Bradley is certainly not known for power, but every time I look at Provodnikov’s post fight resemblance of a face, I can’t help but think Bradley would have dropped many other fighters. While Bradley used his face (since Prov did no real body work) and heart to take those big shots while trading, he was also delivering some of the biggest shots I have ever seen him throw.

Bradley won the fight, he got beat up, but won the fight on points and showed he can take a punch, we knew that anyway, watch the fights more.

Posted March 18, 2013 12:06 am

Chicago guy

I was concussed because he was beaten up by Ruslan. Ruslan won the fight by split decision . Three 10/8 rounds should credited to Ruslan to win but the bias judges given the win to big head Bradley.

Posted March 18, 2013 12:04 am

Correct, Bradley won the fight, and it was a good win, took the punches and won.

Posted March 17, 2013 11:35 pm

Well I now Boxtra rubs folks the wrong way but he was correct in this fight. Ruslan could of won by KO but he didn’t and Bradley won the decison which was the correct call

Boxtradamus prediction was going wrong in the 1st round.

Posted March 17, 2013 11:16 pm

I will annoy you, It’s what I do, great that.

Posted March 17, 2013 11:13 pm

If you are throwing punches back then there is no reason to stop the fight. If Bradley was not throwing punches back then I could see the ref stopping the fight but since he was throwing punches back and landing them then there was no reason to stop the fight. Just because he got up and fell backwards is not reason enough to stop the fight, why, because he did get back up.

Posted March 17, 2013 11:12 pm

This is the Sport of Boxing. In Boxing you can WIN by points or by KO unless there’s a DQ. Bradley was not knocked out and was ahead on points. Therefore he was the WINNER. He out Boxed Provodnikov for long stretches of the Fight and pulled it out on the scorecards. Provodinikov needs to go back to the drawing board and get him some finishing SKILLS. Then he might be a force to be reckoned with…. His Boxing SKILLS need to improve TOO because people are going to smarten UP and just Box him.

Posted March 17, 2013 11:12 pm

top p4p 10, no pfp 0, it’s the skills, blah, blah.

Posted March 17, 2013 11:10 pm

bradley was hurt early and hurt the whole fight. his bambi legs were not gonna let him run around. he was knocked down then did the zab judah while transitioning into a reverse faceplant. (the fight shouldve stopped then and there so prov won) then bradley gets beat around the ring while he looked at times to be “flailing”. the ropes looking as though they held bradley up multiple times. its funny none of the highlights you find show bradley doing anything. whats that say? i have to say i give the nod to prov and i like many others will be watching this guy whenever he’s in the ring. the number 43 ranked fighter came in and mopped the floor with number 3. utterly amazing. powerhouse provodnikov HAS ARRIVED.

Bradley still pulled the win out though. Ruslan was not active from rounds 3 thru 5 then 7 thru 10. When he was active he was very accurate and would win those rounds. The only close round to where they both where active was round 11 which was a close round that I gave to Bradley.

Posted March 17, 2013 10:12 pm

Boxtradamus, you predicted that Bradley would win that fight, he was getting battered, he won that just, if he lost you would of said, skills win, you don’t lose, blah, blah, I am the fight prophet, what an idiot, do you understand how you annoy people.

Also when Sugar Ray Leonard got easy money at 34 yrs old he got SPANKED TOO. And Roy Jones got knocked OUT by easy money at 35 yrs old. Floyd is about to make easy money on his way to a $100 million a YEAR contract. WOW!!! and he’ll do what SRR, SRL, and RJJ couldn’t DO in the process. Get the WIN!!!

Rounds are 3 minutes long. If the round was 3 minutes 5 seconds or 3 minutes 10 seconds then Ruslan would of won by KO in the 12th but they aren’t and Bradley won that fight by a point in my optinion. Ruslan stopped punching from rounds 3 through 10. He lost the fight on his own. But still was a good fight and his stock did rise

Posted March 17, 2013 7:53 pm

I LIKE Provodnikov though. He’s an entertaining Fighter. I’ve seen him a few times on ESPN. His Boxing IQ has to increase IF he wants to go anywhere. He needs to learn how to set punches UP and analyze the situation. Don’t head hunt SO much when the guys legs are unstable. IF a guy can’t move his legs he can’t move his body. He can still move his head though.

Posted March 17, 2013 7:51 pm

Kontiki-Woulda, coulda, shoulda, is NEVER enough. Provodnikov had 12 rounds and couldn’t score the knockout. If he needs some more picoseconds then SHAME on HIM.

Posted March 17, 2013 7:48 pm

Bradley got already two losses. One from Paquiao and this fight against Ruslan

Posted March 17, 2013 7:37 pm

The Pinoy Pikey

Great fight. Bradley showed what he is made of at a big price. I personally like the HURT aspect of the game, adn Prod won that part of the fight, but, he also paid a big price…GREAT FIGHT…Thought that Prod won, but can live with the decision for Bradley. HELLO TO IRON MIKE and TUMBO!

Posted March 17, 2013 7:30 pm

This could of been an easy fight for Bradley, but instead he made it an entertaining one and people still wine and cry.

Posted March 17, 2013 7:24 pm

Hissydalgo-I don’t go by IFS, ANDS, or BUTS. I go by what DID happen. And what happened is that Bradley WON. IF he was knocked down and out like everyone says he was then why did an knocked out guy out Box the MAN for long streches in the Fight??? Freddie Roach was ready to STOP the Fight because his man was being BADLY out Boxed. Go take a MEMORY class. IF Bradley got a gift then Provodnikov gave it TO him by not being able to finish off a supposedly knocked out Fighter. IF Roach is such a GOOD coach then he should teach a man how to FINISH. IF a man can’t move his legs stop headhunting and crush him to the BODY. Then the head will be on a silver platter for you. Take MY advice.

Posted March 17, 2013 7:18 pm

IRON MIKE-Provodnikov didn’t DO enough to WIN. Thats ALL that matters. Bradley underestimated him and he had his chance but STILL couldn’t DO it. Don’t expect Bradley to underestimate anybody again. Next time Bradley will Box his SOCKS off. Matthysse can’t out Box Bradley either. He can outslug him YES. But like I SAID. Bradley has a high Boxing IQ. He will learn from his mistake. IF you think he’ll get decapitated by the guys that you named then you need to go clean your EYEGLASSES.

Posted March 17, 2013 7:09 pm

Furthermore, I feel HBO failed to inform the public that Timothy Bradley wanted a rematch with Pacquaio to clear up any doubts or contreversy, however Roach and later Pacquaio did not want to fight him again, that’s says a lot right there. Timothy should ask Bob Arum to fight Juan Manuel Marquez or Manny Pacquaio. If he can’t he should fight the winner of Rios and Alavrado. I know Bob will want him to fight Provodnikov, but Timothy should tell him, No have your other fighters Rios, Marquez, Pacaquiao fight him, I clearly beat him time to move on to bigger and better things.

Posted March 17, 2013 5:42 pm

Also usual HBO commentary by Lampley was just terrible as he was attempting to create a conspiracy theory with the second round knock down and scoring rounds 10-8 without a knock down. Why not, enjoy and comment on the fight that was, instead of the fight it could have been. Furthermore, for the secong straight fight when Bradley fights as he lands jabs and combinations Lampley and Kellerman ignore the work he is doing and call make a great deal of any shot by the opponent, I seen this twice. I do not know if the industry hates him because he beat Pacquaio and ruined there money game.

Posted March 17, 2013 5:36 pm

Also he second round knockdown was a boderline call because, Provodnikov did daze Bradley which had him back to the ropes, but he did not fall. Then about 5 or 6 seconds later there were no further punches landed though thrown by both and if you see the replay Bradley was pushed down by Provodnikov and that’s why I beleive the ref did not call it a knock down.

Posted March 17, 2013 5:30 pm

Well it’s clear from some of the comments, some fight fans wanted Timothy Bradley to lose. However in boxing scores means something over a 12 round fight. I had it 8 rounds for Bradley and 4 rounds for Provodnikov. Matter of fact , I had the fight scored identically as did HBO’s commentary judge. I cannot understand the anger against Bradley on this site, he decided early to mix it up with Provodnikov, which gave his an opponent a great opportunity to land his bombs. I have noticed a lot of praise for Provodnikov, whioch he deserves, but I feel Bradley deserves more, he proved he is not a punk, has a chin, can adapt and overcome as well as get up after being knockdown and clearly won the fight. Timothy Bradley busted Provodnikov face up from rounds 3 through 11, by landing combinations, jabs and softened the russian up by hitting him with body shots.

I don’t think the ref saw the punch that landed that hurt Bradley in the first round. He though Ruslan pushed him down but when Bradley got up he was clearly hurt. Now since the ref didn’t see the punch he can’t all of a sudden call a knockdown when he sees that the fighter is hurt. This could be a good instance to where instant replay can be used in between rounds. But if they can’t determine what the rulling should be with in that minute rest then the original ruled call is what stands

Highway robbery, the judges should be investigated , home town judging if I ever saw one. Two consective gifts for Timothy Bradley, smells like something rotten somewhere.

Bradley’s memory lapse with Max reminds me of Tunney, who after two “victories” against Dempsey couldn’t remember his training routines. Tunney, shocked by his memory loss, soon retired. Another “win” like the one over Provodnikov, and Bradley may not be able to lace his sneakers. Be careful Tim!

If that fight had been in the UK the referee would have probably stopped Bradley at some point as he was out on his feet being supported by the ropes at several times throughout the fight. Bradley fought with great heart but I’m not sure he deserved a clear win. I also don’t expect Provodnikov to get a rematch any time soon – which is a real shame.

“Te Tumbo…Agreed 100% Fighters who have boxing skills need to use them…going to war when you dont have to is stupid…” True, but part of having skills is having the intelligence to use them wisely. Bradley failed on that count. And even when he boxing intelligently, Prov still caught him and rattled his brains–over, and over, and over, and over….

Bradley man must of got brain damage from that fight. I notice that Bradleys speech has slowed down recently. Those blows he took rattled his brain like scrambled eggs

One more time Bradley escapes with a gift. Provodnikov should have been given at least 2 additional knockdowns in this fight, the 1st & 2nd rounds which would have made him the winner on the score cards also. Yes Bradley is a much more polished & accomplished Fighter than the Russian, but really did not have the power to keep him off. Bradley s athletic ability get to the ropes & remain standing out on his feet only because of the ropes. Bradley only got a draw at the most liberal best card,However a draw = keeps the title. Bradley in against a skilled power puncher will be destroyed & is exactly why he will never be a big drawing card.

This was like the 2nd fight thatBradley was in that was a good fight with lots of action. I hate when folks bring up Hopkins and Ward and saying they are boring. Just cause they imply the sweet science of hit and not be hit does not mean it is boring. It just isn’t your cup of tea and if that’s the case then don’t watch. People always talk about boring fighters but yet hey already know who is fighting and they end up watching the whole fight. Kudos for Bradley for putting it on the line, he deserved the win but the real winner is Ruslan. Question is will Ruslan go back to 140 or stay at 147

Anybody knows if Bradley came out OK from the hospital?

Posted March 17, 2013 2:42 pm

Darn good fight. If people on here who are douches what Bradley to fight better then it would be boring tactical , skillful, borefest like last week Bernard Hopkins stall and hold fight. No thanks. BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU GOT PEOPLE THAT WAS A DAMN GOOD FIGHT

Prods Bumpy Face vs Brads Scrambled Brain

Why isn’t anyone mentioning the 1st round screw up by the ref? It was a 1st round KO to Prodnikov. He knocked Bradley down, when Bradley got up he stumbled on jelly legs back to the canvas. That’s it, fight over (see Tzsyu vs Judah). The ref should have to answer to something. A lot of respect for both fighters for that contest and especially Bradley as he was hurt bad 4-5 times throughout. Bradley got beaten up and knocked senseless. No way pitter patter punches out score clean flush punches that cause concussion. This is not hating, these are the facts of the fight.

Bradley didn’t fight a good fight. That was one of his worse performances in recent fights. Not sure if he wanted to be more entertaining sort of like how JMM became more offensive but he didn’t fight a smart fight. Provo will always be a tough nut to crack in there and will always poor on the pressure. When Bradley boxed he was hands down the better fighter. I wouldn’t expect him to fight like he did last night vs better opposition. Provo isn’t a bum by any stretch of the imagination but he isn’t making any P4P lists anytime soon either. After last night I don’t know how anyone can hate either of these guys.

Moron Mike said: “Provodnikov is a C maybe c plus level fighter at most, and look what he did to Bradley, Bring on Juan,Maidana, Rios, Lukas and he will get decapitated –peace” LMAO…. Desert Storm fought Punkcquiao who is suppoused to hit HARDER than those guys mentioned and ended the fight with his face clean…. if Punkcquaio fights this russian he would take a BIGGER nap than the one he took vs grandpa Marquez maybe an eternal nap LMAO… keep hating on Desert Storm losers

Many morons here disrespect Desert Storm cuz he whipped Punkcquiao´s rear, Tim made a mistake by going to to toe from the beggining with this HUGE and strong guy, if a rematch takes place he would out box the crap out of this russian…. keep hating Desert Storm losers.

Hey Love the sport this isn’t UFC, Boxin is a SWEET SCIENCE. you want microwave KO fights watch MMA. Yes I love a good scrap but who can’t enjoy the boxing skills against the onrush of a man who could knock down buildings.

I agree. Bradley fought like a young contender eager to prove something rather than a champion confident of his stature. IMO, he left a piece of himself in the ring last night and for better or worse has become a different fighter but he did prove something: that he refuses to lose or surrender, which is at least one important quality of a champion but he needs to avoid having to prove it in every fight.

Damn-those Mansi reindeer herders are tuff!!

Posted March 17, 2013 1:23 pm

Wow…Bradley is quick enough and skilled enough NOT to get in a shoot out as if HE WERE A 20 YR OLD KID. He needs to keep all that heart and bravado in his hip pocket for when he absolutely needs it. In this case, skills SHOULD’VE had an easier time trumping power but the fear of Provodnikov’s power was evident until the final second….Both guys may never be the same again!!

Posted March 17, 2013 1:10 pm

Great fight but Bradley fight showed Provo lacks defense, speed, head movement, and footwork. Soon as he faces someone with power he will get KOed. Provo has power but lacks in all other major categories. What I would like to see is Provo vs Prescott. That would be a great fight and we could test how Provo responds to an opponent with = power plus good boxing skills.

Posted March 17, 2013 1:10 pm

Love-the-Sport you on crack? Provo did not beat Bradley around the ring. Provo was taking the ass whupping and would get one or two decent punches in. Looking at the punch stats Bradley was doing the whupping. In boxing you can not beat an opponent throwing one shot at a time very dumb game plan and never works unless you can get the KO which Provo could not do. Provo journey man nothing more nothing less. Call him up when you need a heavy bag for tune up fight. What showed the most is with Provo’s 0 defense he is lucky Bradley does not have good power.

Bradley was wobbling all night long. Nearly finished in every round.

Posted March 17, 2013 1:04 pm

Those of you trying to discredit Bradley or say he didn’t win this fight JUST STOP, the Russian gave up too many rounds and needed a knockout in my opinion to win the fight. With that said if 10-8 were called in the first 2 rounds you’d have an argument but they weren’t so score the fight the way it is not the way you wish it was.

Posted March 17, 2013 1:02 pm

And to whoever is saying skills are more important than power — that is stupid. Other than Floyd Mayweather, fighters with skills can’t draw a crowd. Nobody wants to watch skills. People want to watch power. And the idea that skills are more important than power doesn’t make any sense — the guy who beats the guy around the ring should win. Clean effective punching. This means CLEAN – EFFECTIVE – PUNCHING. Bradley throws punches like he is the CLEANING LADY.

Posted March 17, 2013 12:55 pm

Jay Rock? Which rounds exactly did Bradley win? Because you cannot give 1, 2, 6, or 12 to Bradley. The difference would be rounds 10 and 11. And if you give rounds 10 and 11 to Bradley — then you are saying a larger volume of soft punches are more important than a handful of punches that wobble the guy around the ring. That is a fair point of view — but it is stupid and bad for boxing. What is the point of boxing if the guy that punches a guy from post to post doesn’t win. This is exactly why Pacquiao really won the fight against Bradley — but the judges gave Bradley credit for his girl slapping punches. But real boxing fans know better. Bradley lost tonight.

great fight. lot of action. big blows by provo. a lot of little blows by Bradley. Provo hurt Bradley. Ouch. ouch. ouch.

Posted March 17, 2013 12:43 pm

Provodnikov won the 1, 2, 6 and 12 round huge. I believe Provodnikov also won rounds 10 and 11. This is an issue with scoring. Bradley landed more punches in rounds 10 and 11 — but they were not really big punches or effective punches. Provodnikov landed fewer punches but he wobbled Bradley again in both the the 10th and 11th. I can’t see how the judges do not give Provodnikov the 10 and 11 when Bradley was hurt badly and almost when down in both rounds. Volume should not matter if the fighter who throws volume basically gets knocked down. In my opinion, Provodnikov wins 6 rounds vs. Bradley 6 rounds. Provodnikov should get the victory based on the knockdown in the 12.

Posted March 17, 2013 12:42 pm

Traveller stop your crying Provo got out boxed and points is the name of the game. Provo has great power but without head movement, foot work, defense, he want go that far. You can’t knock everyone out. Soon as Provo faces an opponent with = power he will get KOed in 3 rounds or 1.

Posted March 17, 2013 12:27 pm

SKILLS was more important than POWER!!!

Day-um?! Ruslan looks like he stuck his head into a hornet’s nest(?!). anyway, Provodnikov took entire rounds off tryng to Only exploit Bradley’s effective jab with his big right. Points Bradley. he took those rounds. Provodnikov was most successful when he applied his own brutal and effective pressure, which Bradley couldn’t (wouldn’t?) resist or discourage with his own average punching power. consequently, every time Provodnikov charged in Bradley would plant himself and exchange and usually to his disadvantage. 7 not 5 rounds of that and Provodnikov would’ve been awarded the scorecards and not only the fight. however, Bradley earned the “W” but emerged from this fight looking as vulnerable as Hell. IMO, Mayweather, Marquez, even Ortiz or Mathysse punch Bradley’s button in the same situations.

Posted March 17, 2013 12:02 pm

Provodnikov would have won if he’d applied some work to the body. Knowing what type of fighter Provodnikov is, I’ve said that Bradley just had to come prepared. He did, and he won on points. I have new found respect for him. He is hitting with noticeably more power than in previous fights. This fight shows that he can beat Pacman fair and square. But if there is another outing against Provodnikov, Bradley better come ready to relinquish that belt.

So much for Bradley having feather fist. Provo’s face tells a different story.

Octavius, you’re delusional. The only reason Bradley admitted that he was concussed at the end of the fight was obvious to anyone who saw the last round: that damn fool was out on his feet and was about 15 seconds away from being put to sleep! Kellerman even told him so. Bradley couldn’t remember what happened in the fight.

Posted March 17, 2013 11:37 am

Whatever Bradley did or didn’t do to keep Provodnikov on the outside wouldn’t have made much difference. The Russian is right out of a Frankenstein monster movie; he just keeps plodding in. Both fighters took some terrible punishment and should be carefully monitored by their managers and a sports physician.

Posted March 17, 2013 11:25 am

Well this is what happens when you try to prove something when your not that type of fighter
