Only thing that stopped Marquez from dismantling Pac last fight was work rate and power. Looks like he will be hitting harder and more often. Oh how sweet it would be for Marquez to win this and for ESB to be emptied of Pactards.

With that said, I’m I the only one that thinks Marquez looks totally jacked? Interesting…Top Rank loves PEDs. Though, I might be wrong about Marquez.

As much as I want Marquez to win, I have a gut feeling that Manny will beat him without any doubt this time. Which will once again start the Manny VS. Mayweather talks. Hopefully, I’m proven wrong.

Posted December 8, 2012 3:36 pm

Marquez is not on the juice guaranteed, aced every test taken demanded for test, accepted all tests.Manny well it’s pretty obvious needles, cut off dates, bigger head, cramps, pac on the other hand climbed from 113lb to 122lb.Climbed 130,135,140 in a 9month span not even a year bs.If Marquez was on it i wouldn’t care anymore he’d be doing it just get on even playing considering not only he’s fight a ped user but 3 judges & arum.

Posted December 8, 2012 3:12 pm

Paquiao Will Get Taste of His Own Medicine

Everyone knows these two are on the juice. JMM has finally resorted to using the juice at JMM v Pac III. Enough was enough. Pac had artificial advantages. No more. Pac is now the biggest fraud in sports now that the USA has exposed Armstrong. Let’s all pray for JMM to finally put the Pacquiao cheat in his place.

Theonly way for crybaby to win this fight is to sccore a knockdown or knockout. If he fights toe to toe it will be a goodnite for him(JMM0

stupid loser

Now that we have become more edu-ma-cated on the rampant use of PED’s, and seeing this photo of Marquez, it’s a hard sale to believe otherwise. Regardless Pacquiao has looked less then steller with Bradley, not knocked anyone out lately, and if he did beat JMM it was by a judges hair. It will be an interesting fight but my question is, why does a 4th fight with these 2 on PPV feel like I am paying for a used pair of running shoes???

Posted December 8, 2012 12:42 pm

Tomato Can

Let me say this, obviously these two have had three close fights. There’s nothing to say that tonights fight won’t be another close fight. But if Manny is losing the hunger, like it appears by his less than spectacular weigh-in, then that could be the difference. we’ll see.

Who are you talking to, and why?

Posted December 8, 2012 12:31 pm

Aldawg, Pacquiao was peaking when he fought Cotto. Pacquiao is a hell of a fighter, but the torch is now going dim. Within the next year both Cotto and Pacquiao will be done. Time flies, and passes us by.

Posted December 8, 2012 12:24 pm

Tomato Can

Pacquiao looks as though he’s just going through the motions at this point. Is he hungry? Probably not, but that’s to be expected. On the other hand the older Marquez is as hungry as ever to beat Pacquiao. He feels he’s never got his due in their fights. This could be the difference.

Posted December 8, 2012 12:06 pm

Cotto said the weight limit bothered him, I’m not sure. But only a fool would say Delahoya wasn’t weight drained and a shell of his former self.

Posted December 8, 2012 12:02 pm

Tomato Can

Manny and team, are probably trying to take advantage of the weight limit to wear on Marquez. The only problem is, Marquez is trying to show up as the stronger fighter, in this one. Edge Marquez, if it doesn’t take away from his speed and agility.

Posted December 8, 2012 11:58 am

Tomato Can

Marquez added just a bit more muscle than he had for their fight last year. I doubt it’ll be a problem, it may even help him out strength Pacquiao. Marquez has fought Pacquiao enough to know what he needs to tweak and adjust. I think he has proven that he knows what it takes to compete and give Manny problems. He may go for the KO, in the late rounds. I just might purchase this fight after all. I’m actually leaning towards the Marquez, even though he’s at the point where he could turn old in any fight, I hope it’s not this one…

Posted December 8, 2012 11:55 am

The main thing is Marquez weighed in at a comfortable weight . A mistake many fighters make is coming in at the limit when there is no need for it

Posted December 8, 2012 11:49 am

tim zawa

Well, I hope Marquez didn’t pull weights too much, I know a lot of boxers who became weaker because of their body’changes (more muscles)

Posted December 8, 2012 11:43 am

looking great at the weigh-in does not guarantee a win….almost any athlete can get ripped by doing the right excersises…many of the great fighters, past and present, although muscular , did not worry about looking great. Conditioning , speed and agility are the main concerns……

Posted December 8, 2012 11:07 am

Its said that when you look for the KO it never comes. Marquez is making a mistake looking for a KO. I believe it will cost him the fight

Posted December 8, 2012 10:33 am

marquez will fight the same way he did in the last 3 fights with pacman. he will still feel the respect for pacquiao’s power, having tasted 4 knockdowns in their 3 installments. marquez will never take the risk of being KO’d by pacman in pursuit of his own KO ambition over pacman. i believe marquez will rather live claiming he won all 4 fights but just didn’t get the official verdict than take the risk of getting KO’d in his 4th meeting with pacquiao

I give Marquez a strong shot at beating Pacquiao he has literally been obsessed for years… That said neither mans careers are anything close to a farce and Chavez was ALWAYS gonna be too slow for Martinez , Freddy Roach was not bridging that speed gap… Khans a young fighter who’s chin is shaky, he looks flashy but his power is average for the division and Garcia hit him with a shot he could not see… Roach is a HOF trainer and the reality is that having a bad run is inevitable…

Meth-amphetamine, that was synthesised by the Japanese last century, the Germans were using it in WW11, it was also used to treat Narcolepsy and weight loss in the 1960’s, obviously banned now, I was reading about that when looking up Boxing.

Posted December 8, 2012 1:52 am

HAHA WTF?? Marquez aint knocking out pacquiao. he might get the win but theres no way in hell hell knock pac out. they fought 3 times and in those 3 times he didnt score no knockdowns. even when he clipped him in the 2nd round with that hard ass left hook in the 2nd fight but still couldnt drop him. none of the bigger guys he fought couldnt knock him.. its that CHIN SON, ITS THAT CHIN!!! it was marquez who kissed the canvas 4 times. dont buy that bs saying his gone be more agrressive pac always been the agressor from the start ..if he comes forward hell get whooped hard once hi starts to feel pacs power his gone run around again ..

FA — I got Marquez by a stoppage. This could end up the historical equivalent of the last meeting of Armstrong/Robinson. You really want to be that guy who ducked watching it live? There are still some old timers hangin’ around who feel quite foolish for ducking that bout.

As for Pac vs Marquez I’m not buying the PPV and for once my fight buddy didn’t even try to put together an event. That Pac-Bradley farce burned him down and this undercard is too weak for me to buy it. Especially when we’ve got Jennings on NBCS and the “off tv” undercard on Spanish TV. I’ll get to watch a half dozen boxing matches tomorrow for free. Easy decision.

Hey Old Yank, good to see you in the house. Been awhile. A lot of guys left after ESB changed their software. This morning when I tried making my first post of the day it gave a white screen of death message stating I’m posting too often and to slow down. Others don’t put up with this ineptitude but I’m a creature of habit. Anyhow, hope you’re doing great and you stop by more often.

“Maybe not, but they can keep the test and re-test it years later, when it is detectable…” – NSAC doesn’t keep urine samples like the UCI (cycling) and Olympic testing lab. NSAC threw out Shane Mosley’s sample from when he “beat” Oscar in their rematch. That sample was filthy with EPO, HGH, the cream and the clear courtesy of BALCO and Conte, who now works with Ward and Berto among other boxers.

SW — You are correct. There are trainers, fighters and gyms who strive to rise above. It does not alter the truth — enhancing is at epidemic levels.

Anon – Following Chavez, Jr.’s suspension for illegal drugs, the Texas commission was not bright enough to show up with “specimen bottles” at his next bout to do the post fight tests. Indeed they can neither afford a refrigerator nor are they bright enough to plug one in.

Posted December 8, 2012 1:21 am

Old Yank

Anon — Here is how bad it is…In Texas, after Chavez, Jr. had already been suspended for using illegal drugs, when he showed up to fight (after regaining his license), no one on the Texas Boxing Commission showed up with “specimen bottles” for Chavez or his opponent to piss in. Indeed commissions cannot afford a refrigerator nor do they have the mental capacity to know how to plug one in.

Posted December 8, 2012 1:18 am

Nearly every currently active, high-end athlete has experimented with some form of illegal enhancement at one time or another in their career. As a former gym owner who has “invited” many “trainers” to leave my gym, I can tell you that there is an epidemic of enhancing going on out there.

Posted December 8, 2012 1:12 am

They can’t afford a refridgerator?

Posted December 8, 2012 1:10 am

Old Yank

Commissions don’t have the money to keep ice cold in a cooler but they are going to preserve samples for future testing? Please get real!

Posted December 8, 2012 1:07 am

Straw weight

Maybe not, but they can keep the test and re-test it years later, when it is detectable, that will discredit the athletes career, most Boxers don’t take PEDS anyway.

I saw Trinidad on his arse many times as a welterweight — funny…he never lost at 147. Must be something about the difference between getting back up and staying down — or some stupid truth like that. So who is the smart ass out there that’s seen Marquez fail to get up after being on his arse? Please raise your hand so we can all recognize a fool when we see one.

As Vitali Klitschko said: Boxing is no Bodyuilding contest. Marquez and Pacquiao look good. Could be an interesting fight. If Marquez has kept his reflexes and speed, his hopefully increased punching power could make a difference. If Pacquiao has regained his speed, the same. So many “ifs” boys…. let’s wait and see.

One is free to search the web for “observers” scorecards in the previous Pacquiao/Marquez meetings. The conclusion is undeniable — most observers (boxing writers) sited saw Marquez winning all three bouts.

Posted December 8, 2012 12:29 am

Marquez should make sure not to get his ass down like two of his previous fight and not to run in the last round like he did In his third fight and judges will be in his favor..: he should forget about knocking paqiao if he tries he will get stoped!

Marquez looked more ripped than Pac at the weigh in. His whole career he hasn’t looked like this, it reminds me of Tommy Morrison who wasn’t ripped early in his career then he started juicing and was all cut up. Marquez hired that strength and conditioning trainer who had several athletes get busted for the juice. Hmm.

Posted December 8, 2012 12:01 am

Pacquiao was hurt in both those fights. in fact he admitted that he was hurt by Cotto and Margarito. Go back and watch those fights again.

This fight is a draw, one judge favor Marquez, one for Pacquiao and one even, everybody wins, including Arum, MGM, HBO and Vegas mafia. no more fifth fight, Pacquiao will continue as Vegas cash machine while Marquez will go back to HBO’s Boxing after dark. Floyd and Manny saga will continue.

Posted December 7, 2012 11:50 pm

Marquez got knocked down 3 times in the first fight, and took a while to get up after the 3rd knockdown, Cortez let the fight go on, he could of stopped it, but made the right decision.

Pac is 147 because he’s SOFT! Pacquaio is no more a natural welterweight than I am a natural Chippendale’s dancer! Marquez is going to stop Pacquaio and prove what most veteran observers have seen over their 3 previous bouts — Marquez won them all.
