it was a brutal affair and I take my hat off to both fighters for hanging in there for twelve.just think if it were still 15 rounds.

Fight Aficionado

Guerrero is tough as nails but fact is there’s no reason for him to fight the way he did on Saturday. He’s got better skills than that. I think that Cross Fit stuff got him forgetting about defense and tactics and thinking just about conditioning and throwing volume. That stuff is supposed to supplement a fighter’s skills, not be the fighter’s only approach.

Kamegai looked tougher to me… He got hit more and harder — and absorbed the punches better.

Guerrero looked a fright.

FROCH RULES-Well you need to take you a GATHERING class. On the contrary I am the most popular bloke on the site. I have Disciples making posts under MY name not YOURS. That’s called POPULARITY. YOU are in competition for most unpopular bloke on the site lad. Try posting under MY name instead of YOURS and SEE how popular you become and how GREAT you FEEL.

ok Please understand Mexicans want face fighters but so limited. Train harder Ghost but face fighting with no power is stupid. skills pay the the bills. Dad is in the way.

DaTruth Hurts

The Jap was just tooo inaccurate with his shots.. most missed by a mile.. the ones that did land busted up Guererro pretty badly..

Posted June 23, 2014 3:45 pm

DaTruth Hurts

He is a head first Plodder that takes way too many shots to the Noggin… against a fighter who can actually land his shots he’s a dead Chihuahua walkin…

Guerrero does have skills, but more than anything he is a warrior. Good to see him back

Boxtradamus be like

“fighter A is going to win”

*fighter A loses*

“Skills is more important, fighter B proved that, I am the greatest fight PROPHET ever born!!!!”

Posted June 23, 2014 3:04 pm

Guerrero fought like Ruslan….which is IDIOTIC seeing as he actually has boxing skills.

Posted June 23, 2014 3:02 pm

BOxTradumas from what I gather you are a rather unpopular character here and about and it’s easy to see why. We call it a bloke “hard to digest”. Your rather distasteful demeanor can be rounded out and simplified, yur an obnoxious arse of extraordinary proportions! Awfully glad yur not one of us.

Good article. As I’ve stated before many times, it’s called “boxing” for a reason, not street fighting. It’s all about hitting and avoiding being hit. Fighters who lead with their faces just to please the fans often have a very short and sac career.

I think he just wanted to get some work in, he felt strong and was conditioned well. He looked good, he took some great shots and kept coming. I don’t think it’s a good idea to fight that style in the future but great fight to shake the dust off.

Guerrero won a tough but entertaining fight just as I predicted. I am NEVER wrong and will enjoy depositing my earnings in the bank. I am the greatest fight PROPHET ever born!!!!

good article very accurate….Robert took many unnecessary punishment he’s forgotten his boxing talent…The problem is viewers want to see a slug fest…The only reason people put up with Floyd is because they want to see his a$$ kicked….I love floyds boxing talent but not many people appreciate the science. They’d rather see a blood bath, a slug fest.

I tend agree with the TITLE but not as much in the content. I don’t believe “The Ghost” needs more time off, quite the contrary. Looking back on a few of fights Robert’s before the one vs Floyd, he was basically the same fighter with the desire to give it all. I refuse to discredit him on the Floyd fight because 1) We all knew that he wasn’t on Floyd’s level. He was handpicked to preserve May’s “O”, no doubt. And 2) Practically NOBODY looks good when facing Floyd, especially when he’s allowed to control the tempo. Fans here seem to forget Robert’s fights vs Berto and Aydin, his first two fights at welter, totally skipping the 140Lb division after an extended absence. He hasn’t been very active, this one being only his 5th fight in the last FOUR years, but let’s not forget the fact that it was mainly due caring LESS for his career and MORE for his beloved wife. He still should be considered a ‘tough out’ for the new breed of talented 147Lb’ers that have emerged, completely counting him out, simply underestimating or virtually overlooking him can prove to be costly. I wish him well. Props to him and Kamegai for their entertaining fight.

Tell me he has now got rid of his moronic scraggy Cheech and Chong meth Dad trainer?

Is that what you call it–“not better, just tougher?” It was a boring fight, l was not impressed with the return of Guerrero. Floyd whipped his ass and he his trying too hard to prove it didnt phase him. If he would have been gone another 15 months l would not have cared or noticed. Yes, us boxing fans admire someone who is graceful, stylish and exerts great boxing talents in the ring, but we also like someone who can box, powerpunch and brawl! I love it when l see that in a boxer.

His father is not a TRAINER; more like a LOUD MOUTH CHEERLEADER…It is time for a CHANGE!!!!!!!

Posted June 23, 2014 2:29 am

Good fight! when there’s slugfest people say they need new style. When it’s slowed down fight like FM style, people say it’s boring…Lol

Posted June 23, 2014 12:44 am

That style will make for a very, very short career and a lot of physical damage to Robert. His father is ruining him. Your body can take only so much before it’s too late. Someone needs to tell Robert this because he has a beautiful family with a wife that has gone through a lot.

Posted June 22, 2014 10:02 pm

Guerrero is shortening his career by getting involved in these type of slugfests. He needs to fight smarter…maybe it’s time for a new trainer.

Posted June 22, 2014 9:47 pm

Robert is a f/cking moron.

Posted June 22, 2014 9:24 pm

The Prince

I agree. Unfortunately for Robert, it’s his dad that’s telling him to get into wars and not fully use his talents.

Posted June 22, 2014 8:11 pm

Totally agree with this article. Guerrero had crisper more accurate punching, but he still looked like your typical give & take fighter that relied to much on machismo. He really needs to remind himself of why the whole “Ghost” thing was ascribed to himself. He IS absolutely a “warrior” in the ring, but more “slickness” & “skilz” need to come into play.
