Marcos Maidana won the fight 116-114 without question. I watched it a few times without bias in any way and without the volume. Fans around the world are correct in saying Floyd Mayweather got away with robbery against Maidana as he has in the past against Oscar De La Hoya and Jose Luis Castillo. Floyd Mayweather is not looked upon as an undefeated fighter because he’s really not. He was hit, roughed up and his constant holding because he couldn’t deal with a tough fighter made him panic and hold on for life. Holding, hugging or tying up as many put it is illegal. The referee should have taken points away. Holding is like putting your hands up and telling your opponent that he’s too much to handle. Marcos Maidana won 5 of the first 6 rounds. Look at the replay and see for yourself. He was landing the jab on Floyd when he wanted to. Floyd was missing by miles, and many of his punches were off the mark. He did have a few clean ones, but the crowd screamed even though the punch was a glancing blow or didn’t land. Maidana was the better man, and Floyd and his fans know this. Some people need to learn how to score a professional boxing match not an amateur boxing match. Maidana was effective throughout the fight. The 114-114 scorecard was more like it, but the truth is that one blind judge that should be banned for life had Mayweather winning 117-111?? What a pathetic joke. Regardless, Mayweather has been exposed, and the boxing world knows full well why Mayweather never wanted to fight the legendary, 8 division boxing champion and Fighter of the Decade. I knew all along Floyd Mayweather could not deal with Manny’s fighting style. Manny would have simply knocked Floyd Mayweather out cold. Too fast, strong, and brutalizing power in this southpaw fighting machine. The debate is over. The great Manny Pacquiao is the unanimous best fighter of his era as the Fighter of The Decade voted on by the best sports writers in the country voted Manny Pacquiao as being the best. What we all saw on Saturday night finally answered the question. Who was better, Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. The winner, Manny Pacquiao. His legacy will live forever. His fights are memorable and exciting. The boxing world loves this man. Manny Pacquiao is a living legend, and he obviously doesn’t need Floyd Mayweather for anything. Floyd Mayweather is done.Posted May 6, 2014 10:37 am

Brother Gonzo: Fully agree with that! I too can’t wrap my head around how FMJ fans actually believe he would beat GGG. 3G would walk Floyd down like The Terminator and hurt him real bad. Hit him harder than he’s ever been hit, totally brutalize him, knock him out in devastating fashion, and retire him on the spot.
3G detractors say he has a weak a resume and hasn’t beaten anyone, therefore is just a hype job. They don’t yet understand that like Rigo, he’s one of the best amateur boxers in history. 3G has NEVER once touched the canvas in 380 fights. He has a 90% KO ratio, which is the highest in middleweight championship history. 3G is also on the war path with a 16 fight knock out streak.
Chavez has an iron chin, hits real hard, it tough as they come, and will be a great challenge — especially because he’ll outweigh 3G by nearly 20lbs. But these myopic fans will finally start to understand what they’ve been looking at (true greatness) when 3G beats Chavez; then goes on to beat champions like Quillin, Maravilla, Ward, etc.Posted May 5, 2014 3:54 pm
Seen the whole fight maidana won 6 round. And stats say he landed 225 punches Floyd seem slower, or maidana could avold Floyd jab going in all the time.
Floyd had no choice he had to exchange and use his speed and experience inside. He tried boxing but maidana jab right back and even counter back a body shot and two clubbing over the top punches back. He got in everytime he tried and Floyd went backwards but he follow him and was inside still so back into the ropes.
He had no choice If Floyd tried to slip chino he would not see the combo punches and he would be close and sideway he could have been ko’ed. So he not dumb it’s better to face the coming punches and scrub them off.
Floyd can’t handle slugger or slugger/ boxer. Or rather it’s a even ballfield fighting them vs slow boxers canelo one that can’t fight onside so he can slip away with put getting hit and can beat them boxing from the outside as most boxer don’t want to come inside, Oscar, hatten, maidana, are slugger or slugger /boxers.
They are going to watch this fight over and over as maidana took Floyd jab and his shoulder roll away.
Mbuyiseli my friend, not obsessed with Floyd, but dislike what he stands for. A man that was blessed with talent only to see him act the way he does and see how he treats people. He truly believes his money and material make him bigger and better than all humanity. The 24/7 and All Access shows people who Floyd Mayweather really is. He’s not putting on an act. He’s a hypocrite wearing diamond crosses and thanking God on occasion yet his mouth is full of garbage foul language and he has no shame when blatantly calling his own father every foul and degrading name in the book. Character in a person, especially a sports figure that has the attention of millions, has a better opportunity to live a good life and be a good role model to millions of kids and upcoming boxers, but acts like a fool and rambles about in his folly. I recall watching Floyd Mayweather as a young teen as an amateur and Olympian, and he was a very nice, modest humble kid. I watched him during the early stages of his career and his personality was very likable. He had a humble personality, and he looked to me like another Sugar Ray Leonard both inside and outside the ring. He then won his first title, and the hanger on’s started coming, and everyone started filling his head with all kinds of garbage. I began to see the beginning of what I thought would be a disaster of a potentially great fighter and role model as the promoters and his entourage of people came onto him like a bunch of vultures seeking their carcass. Floyd Mayweather then appeared to be believing everything, and then the ego started to come out louder and louder. The rest is history. We’ve all see what he portrays himself to be. The man today is a classless, egotistical, money hungry villain. Did you see what a jerk he was in the post fight press conference with his kiss but entourage behind him bowing at every word he said. Did you see Lil Wayne and the Mayweather camp trying to start fights with the Maidana camp as they were cheering through the hallway. I don’t need to get into Floyd Mayweather’s behavior because it’s all out there. He says things like Donald Sterlign is a great man? Putting his ex fiancee’s abortion document on Instagram? Calling Manny Pacquiao racist names. Laughing at fans because they pay money to see him fight. Throwing all his wealth in our faces is, and he has been consistent this this attitude and behavior the majority of his career. Floyd tries to act and speak well for about a minute, and then once someone asks him something or says something he doesn’t like, his real self comes back and begins degrading that person. Floyd Mayweather has rubbed people wrong, and as he says, he doesn’t care. Thank God for the world having a quality person like Manny Pacquiao. I admire and support this wonderful human being that is respectful, caring, loving, God fearing and is a humble, decent humble person that all of us can have admiration for. Just look at how he carries himself. Not one bad word. Not one word of disrespect for anyone. He never complains or cries. He never boasts about his money or materials. He gives and gives to those that are in need. Manny Pacquiao recognized the sin he had in his life at he turned away from it. He was a fallen man that took off the dirty clothes he had, and today he is a man with true character. Manny Pacquiao is loved and admired everywhere he goes, and for those that are jealous of him, he doesn’t sit well with. They try to take shots at him about his personal life. Laugh at his losses, suffering and struggles, but he continues to be a class act. He never changes. This is a good man. I hope this clears up my thoughts on Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. And just to add a little more to this. Manny Pacquiao is the best of all time. Floyd Mayweather proved to all of us that he would never have come close to beating Manny. Floyd is a skilled fighter, but he would have been knocked by the legendary, Manny Pacquiao, the only 8 division boxing champion in history. Hope my post helps you understand.Posted May 5, 2014 1:41 pm

EZ E: Thanks carnal, I appreciate that! Yes, I agree that the fight was MUCH closer than most expected. I predicted that FMJ would win by wide UD and almost didn’t bother to watch. Normally, I’m pretty accurate with predictions, but was way off this time.
I think FMJ will probably take the rematch with Maidana before he fights Khan. I used to think Khan would be a total cake-walk for FMJ, but the more I think about it…the more I think Khan has a chance. I agree it’s safe to say that FMJ will avoid PacMan and other dangerous up-and-coming champions like Thurman; Lara and GGG at 154lbs.
After last night…I’m 100% convinced that Golovkin would walk FMJ down with relentless pressure, and totally destroy him. After all, 3G cuts off the ring better than Chino; is all-around faster than Chino; is more accurate than Chino; and hits a lot harder than Chino. 3G would beat FMJ by devastating knock-out and shake up the world! And that’s precisely why FMJ will NEVER fight him at ’54. I don’t think he’s willing to defend his Jr. MW titles vs. Lara either and that’s why I believe he should vacate 154 ASAP. LIONKING Your ‘Ali-Norton effect’ example a good example when generally comparing the judges’ verdicts of both fights. It was closer than most fans expected, especially for Team Floyd, close enough to make us wonder about the Floyd’s (fading?) skills and the credentials of Floyd’s next opponent. Will he will he prefer a Maidana II or Khan?? Or.. will he go for the potentially more dangerous Young Lions like Porter or Thurman. Question: Do you think Khan can beat either one of them? hmmm.. I don’t. Whatever Floyd decides is his call, but it’s safe to bet that it won’t be Pac. I will review the fight once again later tonight. Paz!!Posted May 4, 2014 9:34 pm

EZ-E: Now that’s a great post! I scored it 115-114 for Maidana, but can totally see a 114-114 Draw. I also think a 115-114 for FMJ is acceptable. An extremely close fight.
But like Pauli M. said, “I don’t think the two judges who scored it 117-111 and 116-112 were even watching the fight.”
FMJ definitely did not win 8 rounds. And he sure as H3LL didn’t win 9 rounds! Clements should be interviewed, investigated and suspended. What we all witnessed last night was the “Ali-Norton effect.”Posted May 4, 2014 8:29 pm
Ooops, typo. Should read “..get a nod over Floyd.”Posted May 4, 2014 8:00 pm
TARK Honestly, I don’t see how 114-114 is TOO extreme. There were plenty of other respected & knowledgeable fight critics that had it in that ballpark. Plenty of 115-114 & 115-113 scores like Dan Rafael and quite a few others. I’m not arguing Floyd’s win nor declaring ‘highway robbery” because it wasn’t in my estimation. I’m only pointing out the scoring and the two rounds where the judges seemed a bit off. And yes, I will stand by my comment that at this stage of Floyd’s career the opposing fighter basically will have to wins MORE than half of the total rounds to get a not over Floyd, if you get where I’m coming from. It’s nothing new in the sport and as you already know, there are plenty of examples in the careers of many greats that got similar “special” treatment.Posted May 4, 2014 7:57 pm

Rather…, Maidana was a clear loser to Alexander.Posted May 4, 2014 6:58 pm
EZ E.., Most commentators think Floyd won the fight legitimately.. If the 117-111 score was extreme, so was the draw score a bit extreme on the other side.
Maidana is not a big puncher, I’ll tell you that..
Garcia flattened 2 guys who went the distance with Maidana… Matthysse had Alexander down and I believe beat him by a clear margin.. So did Shawn Porter.. Matthysse was a clear loser to Devon.Posted May 4, 2014 6:57 pm

Anonymous…, Yeah Floyd is a big FAT ducker..
But so were most ATG fighters you can name… There were a few who never ducked anybody… Maybe Larry Holmes… James Toney… Vitali K… Wladimir K… Mike McCallum… Michael Nunn… Reggie Johnson… Antonio Tarver… Eder Jofre… Salvador Sanchez…
Probably a few more that don’t come to mind… but not too many guys weren’t ducking somebody at sometime.Posted May 4, 2014 6:48 pm
What I understand “WHY” but find it hard to really accept was the fact that those 2 “judges” gave rounds 3-4 to Floyd. Otherwise… it should’ve/would’ve/might’ve/could’ve been a majority draw, although we objective fans know that Maidana would’ve had to win eight CLEAR rounds to get at least an OFFICIAL draw! Yes, it was a close one, 114-114 in my estimation. 117-111?? hmmm… It’s Las Vegas so that score was really no surprise.Posted May 4, 2014 6:42 pm
The ridiculous Mayweather code and blue print was deciphered last night by the Victorious warrior, Marcos Maidana, Actually there was no code because Oscar and Castillo had already beaten Floyd Mayweather, but the true code to defeat Mayweather is as follows: Never hire Nevada judges in any of Floyd Mayweather’s fight, never fight Floyd in Las Vegas, keep 24 hour surveillance on the NSAC and Floyd Mayweather so they cannot have any personal talks between them regarding fights, and hire a referee that actually takes points away and warns Floyd for holding so much. Holding is illegal in boxing. That’s why there is a referee. Marcos Maidana just simply made it more obvious to boxing fans that Mayweather is more hype than substance when fighting someone that has no respect for his boxing ability or power. There’s really nothing to like about Floyd Mayweather the person. Last night, the fans in attendance we’re booing the decision loudly. There was even a riot type incident that led to some people getting hurt. Floyd Mayweather proved to the boxing world that he is a very good boxer, but far from being. A one dimensional fighter like Maidana ran right through him. Yes he roughed him up a bit, but Floyd had no room for complaining after he sucker punched a defenseless Victor Ortiz in their fight. Floyd Mayweather is a whining, crying complaining, spoiled disrespectful boxer and human being. He lacks any decency as a person, and the dislike people have for him is deserved. Earlier Floyd had the audacity to say that the Clippers owner, Donald Sterling was a great guy???? Later in the week he posted the Instagram picture of the abortion his ex fiancee supposedly had. He then tops it off in the post fight press conference by criticizing Marcos Maidana in every way. This is a classless individual that has never grown up. Floyd Mayweather proved in his fight last night that he cannot stand alongside the great fighters like, Hearns, Duran, Leonard, Benitez, Pacquiao, Mosely, Oscar, Robinson and many more. Floyd should rank in the bottom half of the 50 best fighters of all time. Floyd is as I have said, a great athlete, but not a true fighter. He proved this last night. Others had beaten Maidana in much more convincing ways. Marcos Maidana is the new king as long as he avoids fighting the legendary Manny Pacquiao. The only 8 division Boxing champion in history. The true warrior that avoids no one and the greatest fighter of all time. The Mayweather myth is just that, a myth.Posted May 4, 2014 6:14 pm
Against Khan, Maidana was knocked down, and only won the last 3 rounds, and arguably the 7th round.
Whereas Floyd pulled basically pulled it out against Maidana, in the last 4 to five rounds when Maidana got a bit arm-weary.Posted May 4, 2014 6:00 pm
@ Drigo: How can you be that blind and comment on boxing?… Khan CLEARLY looke slicker beating Maidana much easier than Floyd, both astetically and punch-stat wise.
Total Punches Khan V Maidana:
Khan 273/603 to Maidana 156 of 767.
Total Punches Money V Maidana:
Money 230 of 426 to Maidana 221 of 858
That means Floyd only landed 9 more punches than Maidana, while Khan landed 117 more punches than Maidana.Posted May 4, 2014 5:55 pm

Maidana whipped boo weather . I loved it. Floyd don’t want PAC . And never did. PAC would eat him up and spit him outPosted May 4, 2014 5:21 pm
Maidana only proved why Floyd fears Pacman so much… Maidana did THIS well against Floyd, despite slowish, forward foot momentum, only above-average hand speed, power mostly in his right hand, barely any head movement, and mainly wild punches in a some bunches…
Whereas Pacquiao, is one of those “south-paws Floyd Sr. doesn’t like his son to fight”, and who has lightning-fast-hand-speed, damaging power in BOTH hands, employs non-stop head movement and upper body agility, which would make EVEN Floyd have trouble targeting him for his pot-shot counter rights, and perhaps most important of all, Manny also has tremendous forward leg and foot momentum, equal stamina to Floyd, which means that he can stay with Floyd step for step, then run him down, to beat him down. Not to mention that while Floyd throws at most 50 punches per round… Manny averages 65 punches, and at least a few time in a fight, throws mostly pin-point accurate 4 to 9 punch combos. Although I have to admit that with Floyd’s defensive acumen, even Manny would have trouble landing more than 2 or 3 punch combos at a time…
Still, the bottom line is that Floyd still don’t want none of the Pacman! Never has, never WILL!!Posted May 4, 2014 4:43 pm
I thought Floyd was milking and milking the publicity for the fight until he got chicken fat on the fight… and then do it.
The publicity has been GREAT for both boxers… but in the end I thought Floyd would finally do the fight — much to everyone’s amazement — just because it’s so BIG!!!
But I guess I was wrong about that… Floyd won’t fight Pacman period.Posted May 4, 2014 4:13 pm

Who are you trying to kid??? Yourself???
Floyd didn’t even show he’s miles ahead of Maidana. If he were fighting Lara, Porter, or Pacquiao last night he would have been in serious trouble … Floyd won a tough fight, but he looked slow compared to the speedy young Porter and Lara.

Floyd think all his fan are dumb.
LAS VEGAS — The big question on everybody’s mind after Marcos Maidana pushed Floyd Mayweather to the limit was this the toughest fight Mayweather had ever been in?
“Toughest wrestling match,” Mayweather said.
Mayweather pulled out a majority decision over Maidana, but Maidana had many moments where he appeared to have Mayweather in trouble.
“Miguel Cotto is tougher,” Mayweather said. “I’m not going to lie. That’s one thing I’m not going to do. Miguel Cotto is a tougher fighter and he hit harder. Canelo hit harder than him (Maidana). Yes, Canelo hits harder.
“Like I said, I take nothing away from him. He’s tough and he’s very, very rugged. Now, I could have made this fight very easy, but it would have been boring and I didn’t want to do that for the fans. These fans are paying serious money to come out here and support the fighters, so we gotta give them what they want to see. … Canelo hit with a left hook that I still feel.”Posted May 4, 2014 2:25 pm

Maidana deserves a lot of credit for not being intimidated by Floyd and making it a rough and tumble affair. He kept landing that chopping right hand against the ropes from a weird angle that Floyd isn’t use to defending against. That said, a lot of his agression was not affective in terms of clean punches landed. Mayweather landed the cleaner, accurate and more effective punches. I had it 7-5 Mayweather but it was a close fight. I think Floyd should’ve retaliated with some low blows of his own and set down more on his punches earlier in the fight. I don’t have a problem with a rematch….one thing I will say is that the welterweight division is in great shape right now…hell, even Khan is looking strong at 147. Maidana, Thurman, Porter, Garcia moving up….gonna be some great fights over the next couple years and I’m not even talking about those involving FloydPosted May 4, 2014 1:35 pm
Floyd Mayweather lost to Marcos Maidana last night, and that was clear except to the blind LAS VEGAS judges as usual. Marcos did everything he needed to do to win, and he is the champion in the eyes of the public. Effective pressure, volume punching and an in your face boxing style overwhelmed Mayweather from the start. Marcos Maidana was landing solid jabs all night out. Floyd Mayweather did the only thing he does when a fight gets tough, he held on for dear life, which by the way is ILLEGAL! Referee Tony Weeks took points away from Kahn, but did nothing but hinder Marcos Maidana from being even more effective. The fans knew it. We all saw a clear victory for Maidana, but as usual, Floyd Mayweather fighting in Las Vegas, which is the only place he will ever fight seems to have a lot of power and pull on all of his fights. Jose Luis castillo beat him and was robbed, Oscar De La Hoya beat him and was robbed and now Marcos Maidana beats him, and guess what? Marcos got robbed. Judge Clements had the fight scored for Mayweather by a ridiculous score of 117-111???? This guy needs to be abolished from boxing as does Judge Moretti. I’ve watched this fight a few times, and I can say without bias that Marcos Maidana was the clear victor last night if you know how to score a fight objectively ans use ALL criteria to score a round. And fans know full well why Floyd Maywether wanted no part of the legendary Manny Pacquiao. Marcos Maidan with all due respect best not be barking at the wrong tree if he thinks he can deal with the legend that is Manny Pacquiao. Manny knocks out Maidana inside of 6 rounds, trust me on this. Floyd Mayweather was exposed as the fighter all boxing fans knew he was. He could never handle Manny Pacquiao’s offensive, brutal southpaw, awkward style of fighting. Manny would be 10 times more difficult with his speed and power and feints than was Maidana last night. The Post fight press conference was nothing more than an ego maniac that had to hog the stage because he knew he lost. Floyd went on ranting and raving about the low blows and elbosw and all this other garbage so that he could give fans and excuse as to why he got beat, and then to have an entourage of his dummies on stage was a joke. Marcos Maidana basically said stop you’re talking and I will give you a rematch. Maidana knew he won. The sport of boxing has become a big joke ever since Al Haymon and Showtime’s puppets (commentators) have been trying to monopolize the sport of boxing. They seem to have way too much power with all aspects of a Mayweather fight. The glove issue was a joke if they had already been approved by the commission. I can now see how money can buy power. Floyd Mayweather sure seemed to be anxious and wanted the entire press conference to himself because he knew he lost. No more talk about being great, no more talk about being being in the same level as Manny Pacquiao, no more talk about how he could have handle any greats past or present. The truth of the matter is that Floyd was crying and complaining and received a big gift by those that live in Nevada and are judges. Congratulations to Marcos Maidana, a man with class, dignity and the real winner of last night’s fight.Posted May 4, 2014 1:29 pm
@William I like the Hannibal comparison, but Floyd would have to retire then make a comeback and lose if he were to be like Hannibal.Posted May 4, 2014 1:15 pm
Chino tapped that azzPosted May 4, 2014 1:04 pm
Even Floyd fans said Floyd would rise to the occasion and he will ko maidana.
Broner and May got something in common, they got beat by el Chino. LolPosted May 4, 2014 12:49 pm
Another sad day for Floyd
Another sad day for Floyd
Floyd was fighting for his life last night.why no boxing ? Be ause chino cut the ring off every time he was given the choice of fighting or getting hit while running, Floyd decided to fight and had the hardest fight of his life by a gate keeper fighter. Everybody beat maidana but floyd. Alexander, paulie even all easy fights.
Floyd over rated.Posted May 4, 2014 12:47 pm
Hate is Sterling! If you say Maidana won, it’s an opinion you dummies. Stop with all this nonsense crap. Floyd lost so I guess I’m a hater right?Posted May 4, 2014 12:46 pm
Floyd got beat up. Maidana didn’t have a scratch on him lol.Posted May 4, 2014 12:35 pm
Mmmm, didn’t Pac got KTFO by JMM?
And now Pac would destroy Floyd?
not a chance.
Beat him, yeah, maybe, but destroy, NOPE.Posted May 4, 2014 12:33 pm

Provodnikov beats him.Posted May 4, 2014 12:10 pm
Alexander and paulie both did better both beat maidana by a UD Floyd get a split close decision.
Bradley or PAC even porter would beat Floyd in the inside out punch him 100 punches a round and can cut the ring off. Floyd been fight slow boxer all this time canelo can’t fight inside all boxer can’t fight inside, so Floyd. Beat then outside as a better boxer and inside. Suckers…..Posted May 4, 2014 12:05 pm
Bradley beats him.Posted May 4, 2014 12:00 pm
Manny beats him.Posted May 4, 2014 11:59 am
I think it was real close, much closer than others had it with Floyd winning by 4 rounds. I’ll watch it again but my first thought was that he barely pulled it out. Two rounds at the most. The one thing that did stand out was that he was landing the cleaner shots but maidana was using that pressure which should count too.
Tough. Rematch should happen. Floyd gave one to Castillo right away so I wouldn’t be surprised if the feedback is good both numbers wise and the demand by fans that he would do it again.
Some fighters are in tough close fights and don’t rematch right away or at all. Floyd has with Castillo.Posted May 4, 2014 11:42 am
I had Maidana winning a close fight. Clearly, there are a lot of Mayweather fans that will never admit their man lost. Also, the analysts and powers that be need to say Mayweather won because that’s where the money is. Boxing is rigged and we all know it. Maidana won last night.
You need to explain to me how Skip Bayless had Floyd winning in a close fight then. As well as Max Kellerman who is on HBO.Posted May 4, 2014 11:39 am
how to beat Floyd:
Just like Rome did with Hannibal: Wait it out. Let him get old, exhausted, and then attack him on his home-turf.
Nobody beats Father-Time.
When Roach calls you out, or I like to say the Vulcher because he flies around looking for fading and dead beings, be scared, be very scared you are on your way out.Posted May 4, 2014 11:37 am
mosely, judah, corley, cotto did more damage then maidana. floyd dominated maidana because clearly the argentine was missing and when he did touch floyd it was a grazed because floyd would turn his head to opposite direction. also maidana was hitting behind the head which doesnt score points.floyd moved in the ring and showed us how the sport of boxing is suppose to be played.Posted May 4, 2014 11:02 am
Yes Floyd is the best managed fighter in history. Pac knocks him out.Posted May 4, 2014 10:54 am
I love Maidana. He went after Floyd and tried to make history and it was fun to watch for a short time but he failed. Floyd is just too good. By mid fight Floyd had completely figured out the aggressive Argentine, made adjustments and won the way he always does. Anyone who does not see that simply doesn’t understand boxing. Floyd possesses one of the most brilliant boxing minds of all time and it’s a thrill to watch the man work. I really don’t see a need for a rematch. It would be less than half as competitive as this one was. I do feel the scores should have been closer but it certainly wasn’t a draw. Floyd is still king.Posted May 4, 2014 10:52 am
Floyd beat a dirty 165 pounder without any doubt.Posted May 4, 2014 10:44 am

I saw the exact same fight up close. Maidana did everything he could to try to make Floyd uncomfortable. He hit low, he head butted, he held and hit(sometimes throwing punches to the back of Floyd’s head or behind the ear, he rabbit punched). After all of that, we still didn’t win the fight and it wasn’t a draw. I had Floyd winning 7-5 or 8-4. The 11th round was close, but Floyd out pointed Maidana in the round and won it.
I understand that a lot of Latin fans of Maidana were upset that their guy lost, but Mayweather is a tough as nails, incredible fighter with a tremendous will to win and resolve to stay composed even with all of the illegal tactics that Maidana tried. He tried to break Floyd’s arm in the third. I mean it was crazy in there and Weeks really should’ve done more to prevent the wrestling by Maidana. He even tackled Floyd in the 11th.
I mean, what do fans want? Maidana had all the advantages minus unpadded gloves and. Floyd allowed Maidana to even dictate the style of fight and he still couldn’t beat Floyd. Floyd didn’t listen to Sr., and didn’t box and move like his Dad told him. He fell in with Maidana and fought him in Maidana’s style.
I’ve know this for a while, but this shows everybody that Floyd is the best! He adapts. He adjusts and he can’t be beaten by a one dimensional fighter.Posted May 4, 2014 10:31 am

I just love these mayweather gay boys getting behind their man wink wink. Bending over backwards wink wink to protect their man. Swallowing their masters spoof. Fags.Posted May 4, 2014 10:28 am
It was a close fight in terms of landed punches or points. But if you look at the fight at a strategic level and what really happened, Maidana was at no point even close to winning the fight. His best moments were the low blows and rabbit punches and few body shots. Almost none of his punches connected when Mayweather was on the ropes. Still, Mayweather should have countered more to get a wider decision. Nevertheless, defensive wise a great demonstration of skill and cool nerves by Mayweather. This fight proved he can’t be won by a crude and dirty brawler. Knockouts seem to be a thing of the past though.Posted May 4, 2014 10:28 am
I don’t think Floyd fought the right fight. Maidana made it ugly he roughed him up Floyd but he never hurt him and alot of the shots never hit the target, Ellerbe said before the fight that Floyd would have to dig deep to win I wonder if this was a planned attempt to spark more interest in his fights, Because he could have stayed off the ropes and he easily outboxes him. He chose to stay in the pocket in front of him and exchange but I am not sure if it was age, outside interference or giving the fans what they want to see. Or maybe it took him little longer to adjust to Marcos. But I think the rematch would be a shut out.Posted May 4, 2014 10:27 am
It is boring now demands every single young fighter for the past two years. Enough he is a badass. To bad he doesnt sastfify his fsns with Pacquiao andy closed the chapter.Posted May 4, 2014 10:13 am
This was definitely a close fightPosted May 4, 2014 10:06 am
Like the way these so called boy otters are posting about the fight. Floyd thanks you for the purchasePosted May 4, 2014 9:45 am
Maidana is a garbage fighter but I didn’t see a schooling and neither did the numerous others in the sports bar. I saw a draw being generous or a 7 round advantage to Marcos.Posted May 4, 2014 9:19 am
Anyone saying Maidana beat anyone is just an excuse to hate. He was just beaten at his own game. Floyd did not even have to fight that way anyway. He wanted to. Haters are just so so lame.Posted May 4, 2014 9:09 am
No fighter has gone after Floyd like Maidana did. Not sure why they all seem mesmerized, except for Cotto. Maidana hounded him like a dog! And kicked his ass! Floyd will now go thru the Bradley period. How to explain the “victory”! And Pacquiao! 2 unanswered questions for the next few years.Posted May 4, 2014 9:01 am
