yep Fraud Duckweather would beat Prov, but he’d never fight him because Prov can bang hard and Duckweather would never rist his fake little 0 against someone who could KO him. Duckweather is the biggest con artist in the history of boxing.Posted February 21, 2014 2:16 pm
Provodnikov is tough, and he can bang, but he’s made for a half decent boxer. I’ll be amazed if Provodnikov holds a world title belt for more than three fights and that’s being very generous. He’s just a slugger and nothing else. A good boxer would cut his face to shreds, and a really good boxer/puncher would KO him. I like Provodnikov as an all action fighter but he’s not a good world champion in terms of skill. Any smart thinking boxer would beat him.Posted February 21, 2014 7:40 am
Provo would pound that ducking coward Marquez into retirement. He can’t beat nobody named Pac.Posted February 20, 2014 8:03 pm
All right Ruslan, I’ll fight you, but I want at least £100,000, and there’s no weight limit. Do we have a deal?Posted February 20, 2014 4:12 pm
Prod comes to fight. You can never argue that point. He also has a HUGE, never quit, heart.Posted February 20, 2014 2:28 pm
Why are you posting about Pac on here. That has nothing to do with Ruslin.Posted February 20, 2014 2:23 pm
Greatness inside the boxing ring comes to a fighter that is special. The great fighter does things that others can’t quite duplicate. He does things effortlessly and without having to think. The attributes he possesses (power, speed, athleticism, movement) are gifts he was born with. Manny Pacquiao is a great fighter that does things that leave boxing fans in awe. He can punch with the power of an earthquake. He has hand speed that rivals that of a striking cobra. He has the graceful foot movement of the great football player, Barry Sanders comes to mind. And he has the aura of invincibility that gives him the chance to beat anyone at any time. Manny Pacquiao will grace us with his presence on April 12th in Las Vegas. He has returned to take back a title that was unjustly stolen from him by Timothy Bradley with the assistance of the ring judges. The boxing world is once again alive, filled with anticipation and excitement to see greatness in the ring. Manny Pacquiao will bring in the movie stars, professional athletes, musicians and world leaders to the fight. Any Pacquiao fight bests the World Series, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup or the World Cup. The magnitude of excitement reaches all four corners of the world. Those fortunate fans that come to Las Vegas get a double treat as Manny will likely perform his celebrated hit song like “Sometimes When We Touch.” Manny is a boxer, singer, actor, but more importantly an entertainer that aims to please fans, which he consistently does. There will be no more Manny Pacquiao’s once this legendary fighting machine retires for the squared circle. Manny has fought the best of his time and beaten them all. He is respected and admired by all of his boxing peers. Fans enjoy watching his fights because they know there is action, excitement and they are watching the ONLY 8 division boxing champion in history. This by itself classifies him as the best ever. If only one man can reach the top of mountain, every other man falls short. Manny Pacquiao is the only man to reach a little higher than all the rest. Is he the greatest ever? Quite possibly, but I will not become a braggart and tarnish any part of Manny Pacquiao. I will say that he is arguably the best of all time, and leave it at that. Manny Pacquiao is without a doubt one of the most influential people ever. He reaches people of all walks of life. Manny Pacquiao is quite unique as he personifies greatness inside and outside the ring. The pugilist and the person are both one in spirit. This is a special man that encompasses greatness. Trust me on this. Manny is one of a kind. Manny’s the best!Posted February 20, 2014 2:20 pm
Arum should call himself a disgrace for how he has treated Pac and the way he has promoted Rigo. Arum has been taking jabs at Floyd ever since Floyd bought out his contract. Fortunately for Arum Pac hasn’t smartened up and left him too.Posted February 20, 2014 10:47 am
Ok hec dog….Mikey v Provo could b on the cards? I don’t c it happening any time soon. Provo v Bradley/Manny or a JMM fight is looming.Posted February 20, 2014 5:24 am
Mr Arum calling Floyd Mayweather a disgrace is right spot on. Why does anyone listen to a fighter that has been avoiding the best fighter in the world for years. Floyd’s camp and family have been made their fears known when it comes to Manny Pacquiao. The documented history of things said by Floyd, Floyd Sr and Roger all point to the same conclusion. Floyd doesn’t want to take the chance of losing, but ore importantly of being seriously hurt. Manny Pacquiao is a powerful man inside that ring. He has always had the speed, power, athleticism and overall natural instincts of a fighter. The Mayweathers are fully aware of that Floyd will fight a legendary fighter that can match him for speed of foot and hand. They know that Floyd will have serious problems with a man that has better speed, power and feet than he does. Floyd has had problems with lefties even though he has beat them. Manny Pacquiao isn’t your normal southpaw. He uses hand, head and foot feints that throw off a fighters timing. especially the timing of a counter puncher like Mayweather. Apollo Creed’s word’s in Rocky 2 sums up Floyd’s position. Apollo was asking his trainer “what are you afraid of?” Apollo Creeds trainer answers “He’s all wrong for us baby.” And that is the simple truth. Manny is all wrong for Floyd, and Floyd knows it. Manny Pacquiao is carrying the burden of putting Floyd Mayweather in his place, and boxing fans all over the world are clamoring for this fight. Still Floyd does not want to take the risk. Manny Pacquiao is a monster in the ring, and he is salivating at the mouth hoping Floyd will find the courage to fight. Manny already answered all of those ridiculous ped ruors by being tested in his last fight, and he passed with flying colors. he has now agreed to WADA testing with Bradley, and yes, he will pass with flying colors. Manny Pacquiao is a picture of greatness. He’s beat them all. He is the only 8 division boxing champion ever. He is currently carrying boxing on his shoulders. Las Vegas is already wanting to build and expand more housing specifically because of Manny “Mania” and his highly anticipated ring return to his adopted home town. Las Vegas will be filled with professional athletes, movie stars, dignitaries and the world will stop for a brief moment as Manny makes is ring entrance. The man has an aura of invincibility. He creates a buzz of excitement and anticipation. Elvis, Obama, landing on the moon all fall a step short when it comes to matching up against Manny Pacquiao. The fighter will be here soon. Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao is coming to take back a title that was stolen from him. He’s a bit angry, upset and hungry. I feel sorry for Timothy Bradley. Please keep the women and children away from the TV sets because this fight will turn ugly quickly. Trust me, Manny will be devastating. Manny is the bestPosted February 20, 2014 4:55 am
@ Titopa. I strongly agree with you I think people are putting Ruslan on a pedestal way too early. He is a very good fighter but I think with a boxer he would have alot of problems. Bradley is a boxer but he chose to brawl it out with Ruslan and got in trouble because of that. When Bradley started boxing the fight got extremely difficult for Ruslan. I think Marquez would beat Ruslan if the fight would ever happen witch I dont think it will. The counter punching of Marquez would be way to much for him.Posted February 20, 2014 3:25 am
Garcia, for as good as he has been, would lose to Ruslan inside 12. Garcia is good, but he’s no beast and never fought anyone who throws as many punches as Ruslan will. However, it is a fight that would make sense should garcia decide to take it. In the least, it would show Garcia is not carefully selecting opponents like some who profess to be the best p4p fighter.Posted February 20, 2014 12:58 am
Tim “helmet head” Bradley needs to rematch Ruslan after the last thrashing he took which most feel he lost big time!! But you know he’s too smart to do so.Posted February 20, 2014 12:54 am
@True Boxing Fan – “Mikey Peds Garcia needs to fight Provodnikov..”
For a “true boxing fan”, you sure seem confused about weight divisions.Posted February 20, 2014 12:09 am
Who has Danny Garcia ducked?
You talk like the kid has run from every challenge.
……………………………………………………………………………………….AK rematch.Posted February 19, 2014 11:56 pm
Joseph Herron, I dont know if you were directing that comment at me, but theres more fights for Provo on Showtime. You have Garcia, Lucas, Broner, Paulie, Khan, Madaina, Peterson, Porter , Thurman, etcPosted February 19, 2014 10:44 pm
He is currently signed with Banner Promotions and Arite Pellulo.
And on the topic of Top Rank vs. Golden Boy, when is the last time any fighter outside of the GBP stable has received a title opportunity and a headlining slot.
Think about that before you criticize Bob Arum and Top Rank. They are not the party instigating the cold war.Posted February 19, 2014 10:23 pm
Ruslan can be outboxed, so a pure boxer will always beat him. Think Donaire and Rigo.Posted February 19, 2014 10:22 pm
Provo needs to leave Top Rank, and get thd big fights at Showtime/GBP.Posted February 19, 2014 10:15 pm
Zab would also need a quick trip to the ER as the Russian would beat him badly. Let JMM sign his name on the line or Garcia, Peterson, OR unleash him on Maidana as that would be an all out WAR at 147. I think the Russian would elevate his power from 140 to 147 with more ease than others who have tried and failed. Broner has heart so let him fight the guy at 140 or 147.
Russian needs the younger lions, Broner, Khan…etc… or the wanna stay important legends that are still active out there at 140/147. They can hide for now but he is coming to drag them into a fight.
THE RUSSIAN IS COMING…..THE RUSSAIN IS COMING…..Posted February 19, 2014 9:36 pm
Wow….He has been chin tested and fan approved IMO.
Danny Garcia, Khan, Peterson or hell just any fighter in the ring with the RUSSAIN will be an old time slobber knocker.
I can’t wait to see him return to the ring. He is a real prize fighter. He is not fighting for fame or glory, hell he is fighting just to knock your a..SS around for 8, 10 or 12 rounds, I think this guys loves to go toe to toe for FUN.Posted February 19, 2014 9:26 pm
Questioning Garcias toughness is ridiculous. He has proven he is the best at 140. Funny but before the Bradley fight Ruslan was just an ESPN fighter. Since then he has all of a sudden become the most feared at 140. I like Ruslan but Harcia is the champ and is the best at 140Posted February 19, 2014 9:14 pm
@ TITOPIA – You’re right, Tim ‘Headbutt’ Bradley had something to prove. He needed to prove to himself and the world that his win over Manny wasn’t a gift decision. It was… no denying that FACT. But Tim was an excellent test IMO. But then Ruslan went out and dominated Alvardo, and both fights were FOTY candidates. Win or lose, I love watching a good fighter FIGHT.
Some guys you can see are just fluff and hype… Ortiz, Berto, Tyson Fury… just to name a few right off the top of my head…. But sometimes, if you look closely enough, you can see a gem in the landfill. Keith Thurman, Ruslan Provodnikov, Shawn Porter… these are gems who, with a little guidance, can be the next big players in the boxing game.Posted February 19, 2014 6:45 pm
Danny Garcia makes sense. And if he has the testicular fortitude to actually get in the ring with Ruslan, that’d give Danny a whole new dimension of toughness.
Lucas Matthysse is another viable option, but he doesn’t hold a belt at this time. He’s ranked #1 only behind Garcia in the Jr. Welter division and I think Lucas would take the fight, because he’s a warrior and, that’s what warriors do. They fight.
Amir Khan would not take the fight.
Lamont Peterson would not take the fight.
Mike Alvarado has already been defeated by Ruslan, so anyone below #5 is an unworthy opponent iMHO.Posted February 19, 2014 6:37 pm
Ruslan is the type of fighter I can get behind.
I really LOVe guys, who talk tough after a fight, that they will take on anyone, anytime or anywhere…. but when posed with a valid question of who they would like to fight, the usual answer is… “ummmm, whoever my management or promotor puts in front of me”. WRONG ANSWER.
Ruslan is NOT that guy. When he says anyone, I actually believe him.,Posted February 19, 2014 6:28 pm
He should fight Danny Garcia. Lets see if he is a hype job.Posted February 19, 2014 5:29 pm
Joe, I sent you an email!Posted February 19, 2014 4:42 pm
Heard an interview with Garcia saying he would like Rios vs Ruslan. that would be a good fight.Posted February 19, 2014 3:35 pm
Khan versus Provo would be a great fight…heck…anyone versus Provo is a great match-up!!Posted February 19, 2014 2:59 pm
Not completely sold on this guy yet…he did well against Bradley, but I believe that was cause Bradley was trying to prove himself after getting that highly controversial decision against Pacquiao, Bradley decided to brawl with this guy instead of fighting smart the way he did against Marquez, therefore, Bradley enabled him to “look good”…I do give Provo credit for beating Alvarado, that was a good win, as good as Alvarado is, I think that Provo was just a bad style for him, cause their common opponent Herrera outboxed Provo but lost to Alvarado….so yeah. I’d like to see Provo rematch Bradley or fight Rios (and win) before I fall into the hype.Posted February 19, 2014 2:58 pm
These are the fights Khan should be fighting AND beating to deserve a fight with Floyd. If he can beat Provodnikov, Broner, Bradley then move up to 147 and fight a Marquez and maybe a rematch with Maidana, then and only then he may deserve a Mayweather fight if he beats ALL the names mentioned….until then, he needs to get his ass back to the drawing board as he don’t deserve any “retirement” fight.Posted February 19, 2014 2:54 pm
Sugar Shane Moseley would fight him.
Zab Judah too, probably.
Can’t stay inactive waiting for big money fights…Posted February 19, 2014 2:17 pm
