Message to Eddie it’s not the banner you fight under it’s you. Now you have joined a team that is going to use you up as a human punching bag. I am one of your biggest fans and I hate to see you bounce between weights and now promotion teams going over seas . I am going to wish you well but I must tell you I see so many problems with you I am not sure they or you can fix them. Maybe you are just in it for the money if so don’t fool your self into thinking you will be a world champion. You are still a very young heavy weight I know you believe that you have redeadicated your self to the sport you must really redeadicate your self.Posted January 16, 2014 2:04 am
Come to think of it moving back to heavyweight could give Chambers a second wind. There’s a more active cruiserweight scene in Europe than here, but guys at heavy also get regular work and he can now claim his last horrible fight was due to getting strung out to make 200 lbs. Of course that remains to be seen. He might just be shot at this point. When a slickster loses his reflexes it’s game over. Either way this is a good move IMO.Posted January 15, 2014 8:42 pm
Ned, good to hear. Hughie should forget about that record and develop as he has been. Stay busy, work on the craft, get a title shot when the time is right. He’s a good technical boxer, much more skilled than his more famous brother actually.Posted January 15, 2014 7:05 pm
@ Punch: The latest word from Peter Fury is that Hughie has given up his quest to beat Mike Tyson’s record. However, Hughie’s still very busy with a fight coming up on February 15th in London. I agree that Chambers will be a good sparring partner for both Tyson and Hughie. Moreover, Eddie can get some decent bouts on team Fury undercards. In some ways Europe’s a whole different ball game; let’s hope Eddie does well there.Posted January 15, 2014 6:57 pm
“All the guys on juice when down with injuries and defeats: Vargas… Berto… Morales… Peterson… Toney… Jones… the lot of them got their asses kicked.” – TARK that implies that all the juiceheads have actually been caught. For every juicer that gets busted there’s probably 20 who don’t. Boxing testing is among the weakest in pro sports.Posted January 15, 2014 3:18 pm
I don’t understand this move by Chambers. Granted, his career has stalled, but he has access to a world or well established professinal trainers. I understand Tyson Fury’s link to Phil, but what can Chambers learn from Team Fury? I can understand someone making a leap to Sauerland or some other promotional deal, but Hennessy?

Chambers has talent but like so many of the modern heavyweights is destroying, or has destroyed, his career because of constand inactivity. He took so much time out after his terrible KO loss to Chambers and it did him NO favours. Always be slightly annoyed with Chambers because I paid good money to see him live at the Nokia theatre against Peter and he only squeaked by the finish line because he just didn’t have enough self confidence to throw the punches. He trained with incredible vigor for his title challenge against Klitschko, and I actually didn’t find that fight boring at all. Felt incredibly sorry for him to lose by that cold KO in the dying seconds because he deserved to go the distance, but Wladimir was an incredible fighter during that run and his fitness and foot speed were fantastic.Posted January 15, 2014 10:57 am
I won’t start thanking you yet Tark….What about cardiovascular…Although I do agree with your statement ….but don’t go thinking were all stupid…Posted January 15, 2014 10:57 am
thanks for workout 101 tark, but holyfield didnt go from 175 to 215 pounds of muscle without juice. there is considerable evidence, he practically supported BALCO all on his own. and it made him a champion. those who get caught dont have the proper “coach”. if you do, you wont get caught. if you dont think the mma and boxing arent riddled with peds you are a bit soft. if you think haye went from 190, to a much harder 215 in a year, you havent been around many gyms…it doesnt happen. ps chambers was injured against adamek, winning easily before then. his only real heavyweight loss was to vladimir. he could easily have gotten that decision against povetkin as well. he is every bit as talented as jimmy young…and deserves a chance to make it big. with the only standing k boy aging and slowing down, he could well be champion.Posted January 15, 2014 10:52 am
Chambers chance of heavy weight sucsuess is about as good as any,but he has losses against povetkin and adamek who are at best contenders so there is eddies level but with the WBC belt up for grabs providing fights happen between top 10-15 contenders and waldamir doesn’t get a sniff then Eddie at least has a chance, I wouldn’t bet my house on it but I’m not writting him completely off.Posted January 15, 2014 9:33 am

I wrote the below comment as I think you are all too stupid to know ultra basics of nutrition and fitness. Everyone thank me.Posted January 15, 2014 4:25 am
Chambers doesn’t need any juice… NOBODY needs juice… Juice kills your chances and you’re gonna get caught… All the guys on juice when down with injuries and defeats: Vargas… Berto… Morales… Peterson… Toney… Jones… the lot of them got their asses kicked.
To put on weight and strength you eat a lot of raw organic veggies of bright colors, green leaf lettice, brown rice, whole grains, beans, lentils, nuts including coconut, sprouted grains for pasta and bread–no flour allowed, whole milk–only slow cooked meats.. Nothing grillled, fried, baked, broiled, or browned. Pan roasted or crock potted.
When you lift weights you don’t go to failure… You do as many reps as you can do fast, smooth, and with perfect form. Then you stop and wait 3 minutes for the next set… You use dumbbells not barbells… You use the leg press machine instead of squats… You do pullups with rings not bars… You do situps hanging from your heels.. You get nine hours of good bed rest – even if you only sleep 5 or 6 of them.
You can get really strong and you don’t need juice… You need patience… Juice builds your body wrong, the muscles out-pace the tendons.. Eugene Sandow lived long before juice was around.Posted January 15, 2014 2:06 am
Chambers is going to be a sparring partner for Fury and his Little brother who has Just 18 months left to break Mike’s record as the youngest HW champion. This little fellow is out of his mind thinking he can do it. He won’t even break top 10 by then as he’s got a lot to learn, however, having Chambers could speed things up but he would be better off working alongside Wlad imo. If he truly wants to take his crown as the recognised Undisputed HW Champion.Posted January 15, 2014 1:23 am
in general with I agree Tark. Chambers is young, extremely talented and he just needs to put on 20 pounds of muscle to be a major player. It worked for Haye–just a little juice. We might as well get used to it, the juice is here to stay. It made Holyfield’s career. It turns lighter, highly skilled iight heavies into heavyweight contenders.Posted January 15, 2014 12:44 am
Chambers was as good a heavyweight as Jimmy Young… And his ring record is still way better than Young’s.
But he’s a heavyweight and will not cut it at cruiserweight… This photo shows his best fight against the then undefeated 29-0 and 6’7″X 257 Alexander Dimitrenko… His previous win was against Sam Peter.
When you go down in weight after fighting 30 odd fights at a higher weight, your strength is gone… your speed is gone… Your size advantage is gone… you’re flat footed… you can’t get out of your own way… He looked terrible against Mchunu.
Maybe if he fights somebody far less skilled.Posted January 14, 2014 10:59 pm
eddie took a lot of shots from some huge punchers. good luck to himPosted January 14, 2014 10:32 pm
Chambers can probably get more work for better pay fighting as a cruiserweight in Europe. Seems like a good move, though he didn’t look like he had much left last time I saw him on NBC Sports.Posted January 14, 2014 9:22 pm
I met Eddy (very nice guy), he is very small, narrow shoulders not built at all for heavy weight, but good luck to him.Posted January 14, 2014 8:20 pm
At least Peter Fury had the good sence to support his son turning pro at 18 and kept him very busy in 2013.Look at these lumps today 30yrs old still not stepping-up still fighting like amatures.Guys 32yrs old looking for a title shot with no big prime fighters on their record. At least Peter Fury isnt going to let that happen to his son or Tyson for that matter.I belive alot of fighters out there today could use some of the old school thinking of Peter Fury…at least we wouldnt have guys near retirement age and still havent stepped-up…Posted January 14, 2014 7:45 pm
@Muffin Tyson Fury doesn’t do any of those things. He’s a professional boxer. You need to realise that he probably pays more in tax each year than you’ll ever see in your life! You need to get over yourself. He could buy and sell you many times over, you sad mug, lol!Posted January 14, 2014 7:08 pm
Fast Eddie’s joining the Fury camp, Tyson’s signing up with Box Nation, and Hughie’s scheduled for a bout in mid-February. A lot of commotion for team Fury kicking off 2014. Now all that has to happen is for Tyson to finally fight someone.Posted January 14, 2014 7:07 pm

Mmmmmm really not sure what to make of this! But be good to see where this goes, I think Eddie is too small for heavy and to big for cruiser so in my mind I don’t see Eddie having much impact at either so any thing he achieves is good work.Posted January 14, 2014 6:15 pm

“will be trained by the renowned Peter Fury” That’s the funniest comment I ever seen on this site.Posted January 14, 2014 3:49 pm
Chambers is just a bit small for the heavyweight division these days, but with 1 Klitschko brother retired, he might figure there’ll be more opportunities again. He needs to stay away from Wlad, but there might be some big fights down the road. You’d think he could be more of a threat in the cruiserweight div though.Posted January 14, 2014 3:37 pm
Peej…agree,100%…As for Peter Fury he seems to have a good head on his shoulders, and doing the right thing with his son Hugie. He seems like a no nonsence guy…and done well with Tyson Fury so far.Posted January 14, 2014 2:31 pm

Ya’ll leave Eddie alone. He struggled at cruiser. I guess his talents work best against bigger guys. Good luck to him.Posted January 14, 2014 1:33 pm
The “renowned” Peter Fury? This has to be a joke right, who has he ever trained? The guy is probably one of, if not the worst trainer out there.
Fast food Eddie will fit right in there with fat ass fury and the crew… hilariousPosted January 14, 2014 1:25 pm
I think he should stay at Cruiser. Don’t think he will do much better at heavy. I like Chambers but heavy is not the place for himPosted January 14, 2014 1:13 pm
