I haven’t seen Trout fight and can only go off of his record as stated on Boxrec… and I’m not impressed. Harldy recognizable names… that and he’s only had 14 fights against guys who won more fights then they lost. That’s over half his fights if I’m not mistaken. 3 of the titles Trout’s won were vacant… this fight against Cotto will be his 4th defense of the WBA title…. yet Trout is fighting in different states each time… makes you think that even with this title(s) he still isn’t a draw. I’m not saying he isn’t dangerous… but his record shows he hasn’t had a straight up KO is awhile… lots of decisions… which means either Cotto will destroy him… or it’ll be ugly and boring. Either way… not good. I’ve never watched Trout after all… and yes this is boxing so anything can happen… while Trout’s record is perfect… I feel it’s suspect.

Haha! While Canelo beats up on a 140lber. Btw, Cotto DESTROYED Quintana already.

Guys, Trout is a very fast guy who knows how to fight. He hasn’t been in wars or anything but that might be because of how slick he is. This is a BIG fight for him and you have to give him credit for taking a Cotto fight because young new champs might want to take it easy in their defenses. He has to be very confidant or just happy to cash the money in the bank that this fight will bring him. I think he will just try to win on points but it just depends how great shape Cotto will be in.

Cotto needs a break? He’s at the end of his career! He doesn’t have time for breaks. He needs to keep things going. I understand taking a fight to build your confidence, but the WBA isn’t recognized as one of the “real” belt associations… and no one has heard of this guy. He should be fighting someone the fans have at least heard of to keep the public relations train running. It’s possible Cotto already knows Mayweather will fight him again… so maybe he’s just taking this as a filler fight… either way… I think it’s sad.

Cotto is taking on a titlest whom is not that bad. And he had to get his belt the hard way. Cotto needs a little break after his last couple fights. This is a good fight for Cotto since the guy does not have much power in my opinion. Cotto wins this fight

Quite the step down from Mayweather… when you were supposedly the toughest guy Floyd ever fought… you fall to this? You’re telling me Cotto couldn’t get a Top Ten fighter? Sad.

Cotto was knocked out by Margacheato and badly outboxed by Mayweather in his last fight. He is on the downside of his career. Austin Trout is an outstanding boxer. Alvarez has ducked No Dought and that tells me Miguel will take a beating. I will tell you that Trout will not fold up at MSG. This is his time to shine. Adios to Cotto and enjoy your well earned retirement.

Cotto’s had a great career but he’s second-tier these days and at 154lbs. in fact, he’s yet to face a truly dangerous 154lbr and has elected to stick to unknowns and welter retreads since he arrived at that weight. Kirkland, Molina, Quintana, even Angulo are more intriguing machups. otherwise, hometown fights v. prospects indicates protected status and not a serious bid for 154lb dominance.

This is gonna be just like the Yuri Foreman fight…. people thought Cotto was gonna lose that fight too. Nope! Cotto will win by TKO. Trout is a good boxer but he ain’t beating Cotto especially at the Garden. Expect to see Cotto VS Alvarez May 4th in Vegas or in June for the PR Parade in NYC.

Cotto will win this one in the later rounds(11-12)…too skilled and too strong…by the way I just gotta say that Cotto is a class act

Cotto will take him into deep waters then hit him with a left hook to the body, lawn chair folding time.

Yeah I am not to sure about Trouts power. If you can’t hurt Cotto you are in for a long night.

I’m going with “folds under pressure of a the big fight”…plus, Cotto is experienced and I believe he’ll win this.

Trout does not have enough power to defeat a Cotto. He has not fought anyone even close to Miguels level. He will try to run but Cotto will eventually catch up to him and KO him. Only volume punches with good chins can really beat Cotto. Mayweather beat him because he is a master boxer.

Isnt Trout the guy Mundine said was a nobody? not on my level?…. Mundine is a douche…. he did not take the fight with Trout because he would of got his arse handed to him.

Trout is going to get his green ass whupped. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is pretty much a shut out points victory for Cotto.
