joseph herron – the answer to your question is he was not given a chance to overcome his adversity because he was out on his feet. he would never in a million years have survived that fight. ref may have just saved his career or perhaps even more

I don’t understand why people are saying this was an early stoppage Bey was completely completely completely out. Look at the ending again people Bey could not have continue Molina would have killed him. 59 seconds is a long long time before the bell rings.

Well I guess you would be the ultimate judge and know best in this scenario, Pratt. (much sarcasm)

My question is how would a guy who hadn’t hit the canvas prior to the stoppage not be given the opportunity to fight through adversity with one minute remaining in the fight? Had he been hurt or even wobbled prior to eating the hard left hook from Molina? No.

I wonder what kind of relationship Vic Draculich has with the Goossen family? Mickey was complaining after the fight that the ref was on his rear end about everything throughout the ten round contest.

BS He was not knowing where he was or what state he lived in. He was senseless and the Refeferee knew it. He was KTFO on his feet and his health and safety were at stake. Good stoppage by the Ref. Poor man was taking too many heavy shots to the head.

Pratt, Mick was only replying with “what happened?” because he didn’t understand why the fight was stopped. After the fight, he stated that he was fine and should have been allowed to continue.

I would love to see a rematch.

A good stoppage. Bey did not know his name or what year it was. He was out on his feet. 59 seconds of more heavy head shots may have severely hurt this guy. No need for brain damage. Dude lost and got KTFO. He was repeatedely saying from his stool through his bloody mouth, What Happened? What Happened? He was out on his feet. Ref did a good job.

No shame in losing at this level…but with that said, the fight shouldn’t have been stopped with one minute left in the fight. Mickey hadn’t been floored nor had he been the recipient of heavy damage throughout the prior rounds.

Refs have become quick on the draw. If Mayweather Sr. doesn’t feel the need to stop the bout, someone who is most familiar with the fighter in the ring and who has an emotional attachment to the man taking shots, the referee shouldn’t either.

With all of the criticism that a fighter takes for a single loss in the present state of boxing, these fighters should be allowed to overcome adversity.

I love watching Molina. He is just a pro’s pro. I know he will never be a top contender but he comes to fight and is a great test for young guys. I think he can move up to 140 as well and do just as well up there. More money up there.
