Bronx, NY- Aug 20, 2008 Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing has added three additional exciting undercard fights to the already stellar card on September 5th at Bally’s Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The card is going to be broadcasted live on GoFightLive.TV and with an intriguing double header, featuring “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis (19- 2-2, 9KO’s) vs. Nasser Athumani (20-6, 16KO’s) and Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson (19-0-1, 6KO’s) vs. Bruce “The Atlantic City Express” Seldon (38-6, 34KO’s) already set in place, boxing fans and insiders are already buzzing in anticipation..
“The New” Ray Robinson (8-0, 3KO’s), one of Star Boxing’s youngest and hottest prospects, is set to go to battle against New Jersey tough guy Eberto Medina (5-3, 1KO) in a six round welterweight contest. Robinson has been impressive each time out and seemingly gets better from each fight to the next. Robinson is excited to be fighting in Atlantic City which is close to his nearby home of Philadelphia, PA.
Star Boxing CEO Joe DeGuardia is looking forward to showcasing his welterweight prospect once again. “The first time I saw Ray fight I knew he was something special. He throws some of the most beautiful combinations I have ever seen. His hand speed is incredible and after watching this kid fight, it’s easy to forget that he is only 22 years old,” said DeGuardia. “We honestly feel that Ray has all the skills and potential to be an absolute star in the exciting and competitive welterweight division.”
Also scheduled to appear on the card is Atlantic City’s own, former amateur standout, Qa’id “Kid Dynamite” Muhammad (2- 0, 2KO’s). The 19 year old Muhammad was last seen in May on the undercard of another Mike Arnaoutis fight, where he stopped Arthur Parker in the second round of their scheduled 4 round bantamweight contest.
Local fan favorite Terrell “Baby Bull” Nelson (8- 5, 5KO’s) of Plainfield, NJ, who has not fought in New Jersey in over ten years, finally returns home when he takes on Bernard Brown (5-4-2, 3KO’s). The once promising Nelson was the victim of a drive by shooting earlier this year. Nelson has since recovered and now has his sites set on trying to get his boxing career back on path. The Nelson vs. Brown fight will be in the heavyweight division and is scheduled for six rounds

Lindsay and Matthews put it all on the line in Sheffield
Leading domestic contenders Derry Matthews and Martin Lindsay will duke it out in a final eliminator for the British featherweight title on September 20 at the Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Sheffield, as part of Hayemaker Boxing’s inaugural ‘Rhodes-show’.
In a highly-competitive addition to the stacked September 20 card, Matthews and Lindsay will risk everything in a scheduled 10-rounder. The winner will be next in line for a shot at Paul Appleby’s British featherweight title.
In agreeing to take the fight, featherweights Lindsay and Matthews have signalled both their ambition to win titles and the ethos of all boxers who compete under the Hayemaker Boxing banner. Neither are afraid to take risks and both, despite recently signing with Hayemaker Boxing, were willing to bump-off a fellow contender and team mate en route to British boxing’s highest honour.
Boasting a narrow edge in professional experience is Liverpool’s rangy and dangerous Matthews, 21-1 (11 KO) in his five-year pro career. A former WBU featherweight titleholder, Matthews is a spiteful puncher who has already claimed the scalps of top domestic featherweights Stephen Foster, Jr., John Simpson and Matthew Marsh. Yet to challenge for the British title, 24-year-old Derry chalked up an English title win in January 2006 when defeating Stephen Chinnock in six rounds.
Belfast’s Lindsay is less renowned as a pro but every bit as talented and versatile. A veteran of over 110 amateur contests, Lindsay currently stands at 12-0 (4 KO) in the paid ranks. He’s boxed in England, Ireland, Canada and Italy as a pro and has feasted on a steady stream of hardened Mexicans in learning his trade. A skilful box-fighter with beautiful moves, 26-year-old Lindsay notched the standout win of his four-year career in October 2007 when outscoring Uriel Barrera to pick up the IBF Youth title. The globetrotting Irishman, dubbed ‘the new Barry McGuigan’ when starting out, has now returned to the British Isles and is hell-bent on securing the most prestigious prize in domestic boxing.
The intriguing Matthews vs. Lindsay showdown acts as the chief support bout to Ryan Rhodes’ first defence of his British light-middleweight title against Scotland’s Jamie Coyle. Also appearing on the bumper September 20 menu will be a number of prospects and contenders all hoping to grab British title shots of their own in the near future.
Local heroes Josh ‘The Outlaw’ Wale and Curtis Woodhouse add a Yorkshire flavour to proceedings, while Tony ’The Warrior’ Dodson and John ‘The Hurricane Kid’ Watson represent the Liverpool contingent.
