Espinoza Boxing Club Goes Two For Two Over The Weekend

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 14, 2008) The Espinoza Boxing Club went “two for two” this past Friday night as world ranked contender Miguel “EL ANESTESISTA” Huerta and fast rising prospect Jesus “POLLO” Hernandez scored big wins in Corpus Christ, Texas, and Montebello, California, respectively..

“It was a very good night for our guys. Like true warriors both guys had to get off the canvas in their wins, I’m very proud of both of them, said Frank Espinoza, President of the Espinoza Boxing Club.

Ranked # 12 by the World Boxing Council, Huerta, 27-9-1 (18KO’s) controlled the action in the SOLO BOXEO televised lightweight main event against rugged Puerto Rican Juan Ramon Cruz for the duration of their ten round bout winning a unanimous decision by scores of 97-92 on all cards at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi. This was Huerta’s first fight since his controversial decision loss to former world champion Javier Jauregui on March 14, 2008 in Chicago.

Continued Espinoza, “It’s a very solid win for Miguel, hopefully this moves him into a bigger fight in the very near future.”

Coming back strong from a second round knockdown, junior lightweight Jesus “POLLO” Hernandez went on to score a technical knockout over veteran Noe Inzunza as he dominated the balance of the fight causing his opponent to keep from answering the bell for round six in the scheduled eight rounder. Born in Los Mochis, Mexico, now living in East Los Angles, Hernandez improved his unblemished record to 7-0 with two knockouts in front of the packed Quiet Cannon in Montebello, California.

About “POLLO”, Espinoza said, “He showed a lot of heart in this fight and real mental toughness. It was only his seventh pro fight and he went down hard in the second, but he got back up and controlled the fight throughout before earning the stoppage.”

Next up for the ESPINOZA BOXING CLUB is hot lightweight prospect Abraham Lopez, who has won his first two professional bouts by first round knockout, taking on Scott Furney in a scheduled four rounder at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas, on July 25th.

The ESPINOZA BOXING CLUB was started in 1991 by Los Angeles area businessman Frank Espinoza. Espinoza has earned numerous accolades for his management skills from many boxing newspaper and internet writers. In the September 2008 issue of Ring Magazine, Espinoza is praised for his outstanding handling of the career of junior featherweight world champion and “Pound for Pound” superstar Israel “EL MAGNIFICO” Vazquez.
