Heavyweight Explosion In Stuttgart: Ruiz vs Chagaev, Dimitrenko vs Basile, Bidenko vs Sidon

18.09.06 – On 28th of October, the Universum Champions Night in Stuttgart will be headlined by the heavyweights: seven out of ten fights feature the weight class over 90,718 kg. WBA Inter. Champion Ruslan Chagaev is fighting the US-American John Ruiz in a WBA Heavyweight Eliminator with the chance for a World Champion fight in the near future. WBO Interconti Champion Alexander Dimitrenko (22-0-0, 13 KO) defends his title for the 3rd time. The 6’7 giant of Universum Box – Promotion faces the Argentinean Gonzalo Omar Basile, who has an impressive record – he won 25 out of 26 fights, with 12 wins by KO!

The International German Heavyweight Champion Taras Bidenko (19-2-0, 10 KO) meets a well experienced fighter, the German Heavyweight Champion Andreas Sidon (32-6-0, 26 KO). The last 4 fights of the now 43 year old ended successfully – by the way of KO.

At Cruiserweight, the spotlight fighter Grigory Drozd is challenged by Firat Arslan. Both boxers are listed in the top 10 in the different rankings and this will be an interesting fight as the winner will have a chance for a world title clash.

Khoren Gevor – Back in Cuxhaven

On September 19th 2006, Khoren Gevor will have another fight in Cuxhaven. On the way to a world title fight, he must defeat the South African Andile Tshongolo (16-10-0, 10 KO).

The Universum fighter Khoren Gevor, the WBO Intercontinental Champion at Middleweight, is already in second place in the actuell WBO rankings. In order to get the chance for the world title fight against the WBO, WBC and WBA Champion Jermain Taylor, he must get passed the Columbian Edison Miranda. This won’t be a problem as Miranda is in preparations for his fight against the IBF World Champion Arthur Abraham.

At the boxing event in Cuxhaven on September 19th there will be other interesting fights which include the spotlight fighters Vitali Tajbert and Sebastian Köber. Both boxers have been very successful amateurs for their home country.

Boxing Event in Prag: Rudolf Kraj faces Pavel Melkomian for the vacant WBC International title at cruiserweight

Marco Cattikas can’t fight due to an injury – a new challenger for Lukas Konecny will be announced shortly.

The boxing fans in Prague will be looking forward to this spectacular night of boxing at the T-Mobile Arena: for the Czech spotlight cruiserweight Rudolf Kraj (8-0-0, 6 KO), this will be another fight in front of his home crowd. In May of this year, 28 year old already filled the crowd with enthusiasm at the Sazka Arena when he won against his countryman Jindrich Velecky. On 10th October his challenger will be the Russian Universum fighter Pavel Melkomian (20-1-0, 8 KO). The winner of this fight will take home the WBC International belt, which was previously in possession of Grigory Drozd.

Also the No.1 of the IBF, super middle Robert Stieglitz (28-0-0, 18 KO) who will return to the ring after a 10 months break and will have a fight in preparation to the upcoming chance for a World title fight. Further there is another SES boxer at super middleweight, Michal Bilak (14-2-0, 8 KO), who had his last fights on 19th August in Halle.

On 21st October Universum fighter Mario Veit will defend his WBC International title at Super Middleweight against his stable mate Denis Inkin. “My opponent is my next door neighbour, that is a weird feeling but I will give everything”, said Mario Veit.

Mario Veit has won 48 out of his 50 fights as a pro (23 wins by KO). His unbeaten challenger Denis Inkin has also an impressing record with 28 fights with 21 wins by KO. “I’m always better against stronger boxers.”

Besides Veit and his coach Fritz Sdunek, there is the local hero Norman Schuster, who is looking forward to the event in Halle: “There is always a fantastic atmosphere and with a good pricing for the tickets, we hope to fight in front of a sold out crowd”, so the champion coach Sdunek.
