The overall event delivered 0.9 metered market rating according to Nielsen, making it the second highest-rated boxing telecast on cable television in 2017. The featured co-main event, a battle between Artur Beterbiev (12-0, 12 KOs) and Enrico Köelling (23-2, 6 KOs) for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) light heavyweight world title, delivered a 1.0 metered market rating, making it the year’s second highest-rated boxing main event on cable television.
It didn’t take long for undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas super lightweight champion JOSE RAMÍREZ.to respond to the missive sent his way on Thursday by his upcoming opponent, undefeated Top-10 contender MIKE “Yes Indeed” REED. Reed (23-0, 12 KOs), from Waldorf, MD, is all that stands between Ramírez (20-0, 15 KOs), from Avenal, Calif., and his first world title shot. The WBC has already sanctioned the fight between Ramírez and Amir Imam, world-rated No. 3 and No. 1, respectively, for the vacant WBC super lightweight world title. On Saturday night, December 10, 2016, twenty-three year-old Top Rank® light welterweight professional boxer, Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed (Washington, D.C. by way of Waldorf, Maryland/pro record: 20-0-0, 12 KOs) will face Sidney Siqueira (Sao Paulo, Brazil/pro record: 26-11-1, 17 KOs) in an 8-round fight on the HBO World Championship Boxing® card, held at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The event is promoted by Top Rank, in association with TGB Promotions, and will feature Terence Crawford making a defense of his WBC and WBO World Super Lightweight Titles against John Molina Jr. in the main event. OnJune 11, 2016, Junior Welterweight prospect Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed (19-0, 11 KOs)earned one of the biggest wins of his career by dispatching of Abraham Cordero (13-3, 7 KOs) by technical knockout after beating the game Mexican fighter over 6 lopsided rounds at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York.
The bout, showcased onthe Martinez vs. Lomachenko undercard, was a statement fight for Reed, who downed Cordero in the first round before stopping his foefive rounds later. The knockout loss was the first of Cordero’s pro career.
