Kevin Iole Joins Yahoo! Boxing

23.04.07 – Veteran sports writer Kevin Iole joins Yahoo! Sports as the site’s national boxing reporter and will provide in-depth coverage and analysis on the sport. Iole’s first assignment for Yahoo! Sports begins with the Super Welterweight Title fight between Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 5 in Las Vegas, NV. In his new role at Yahoo! Since 1990 Iole has covered boxing for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, including bouts featuring some of the biggest names in the sport including Evander Holyfield, Buster Douglas, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Lennox Lewis, Felix Trinidad and Mike Tyson. Prior to joining the Review-Journal, Iole reported for the Burlington Free Press in Burlington, VT and Valley News Dispatch in Pittsburgh, PA. Throughout his career Iole has been honored with various accolades such as:

· In 2007 the Boxing Writers Association of America awarded Iole the Nat Fleischer Award, the association’s most significant award given for career excellence in boxing journalism.
