New Zealand Judge Passes Away

It is sadden to announce that New Zealand Judge Douglas Carrick Belton has passed away at 4pm on 20th of October. Belton had a long battle with cancer which he was in remission at one point, however this year the cancer came back.

Belton is well known for allot of things, including for being the president of the Commonwealth Boxing Council, President of New Zealand Professional Boxing Association inc, New Zealand Representative of WBC and OPBF.

Appeal changes Helu vs Davis results

On September 24th, Tongan Born New Zealander Nailini Helu (2 – 0) fought New Zealand Kickboxer Ange Davis (Pro Debut, Kickboxing 5 – 4 – 1) for the UBF Asia Pacific and NZPBA (New Zealand National) Women’s Heavyweight Title.

The original decision was announced as a split decision win to Helu. The fight itself was an extremely close bout which caused a massive backlash all across social media in the New Zealand Boxing Community. At one stage some of the comments began to get violent when one person told the judges to go hang themselves.
