This whole “he took this” or “he did not take that” is a TIRED argument and distraction from the purity of the results.. Marquez KO of Pacquiao is going to stand and Pacquiaos KO’s of other fighters are going to stand… All this other nonsense really falls under the heading of EXCUSES, CONJECTURE, HATE and Childishness… Marquez KNOCKED Pac Man cold, we saw it, video captured it, the news reported it and you can speculate until judgement day this is NEVER going to change..Its time to move on and stop polluting threads with BS that cannot be substantiated because people are sour about the results of the bout.

“What Pacquiao needs is a new Trainer and then right into a Rematch with Marquez.” This is incorrect. Pacquiao was effectively bobbing and weaving, ducking and slipping Marquez’s punches through much of the fight. It was a new tactic and it made it hard for Marquez not only to connect, but to figure out how to connect. Pac got knocked down, then KOd because he did NOT continue to do what Roach had trained him to do for the fight–patience, bob and weave, duck and slip. Pac let his fighter instinct get the best of him, that translated into carelessness and foolishness, then Marquez KOd him. It was clear to me that Roach and Pacquiao had a good plan. But Manny didn’t follow it. Pacquiao doesn’t need a new trainer. He needs to work his plan.

Floyd is above Pac Man clearly but saying Manny REALLY lost 2 fights in a row is just plain weak… No sane observer thinks Tim Bradley even came close to winning that fight it was a joke… That robbery is being used as a baseball bat to overstate Pac Mans troubles as of late…He lost almost no cache after that bout

Posted January 11, 2013 1:09 pm

Hecdog….please don’t put Floyd on the same line with Manny….he is superior to him, that’s a fact!

Manny lost two fights in a row….:)

Hecdog no matter how many times you try to spew that garbage about JMM win over Manny being tainted it wont make it true so you are just gonna have to face the fact that Dinamita was and always will be the better fighter..if anything is tainted it is Pacquiao’s catchweight fights and bogus 8 division titles that you like to brag so much about..its funny how you talk about Manny always showing Marquez respect but we can always count on pactards to act like jerk offs and sore losers..

…and besides,if anyone right now is # 1 suspect as far as PEDS is concern,is none other than your lover PEDman!!

“I’m just a fan that appreciates watching a super fighter . . .” who the f’k do you think you’re kidding HECDOG? you’re little more than a Pacquiao* fanatic whose done nothing but QUESTION the integrity of a Tested and Proven ATG like Marquez simply because he KTFO of your idol while avoiding having to admit that Pacquiao* is the ONLY fighter to decline being tested to face his primary P4P rival. you may be a fan of Pacquiao* but you’re no fight-fan of Boxing.

“Juan Mariod PEDquez”…. FAIL

Posted January 10, 2013 7:05 pm

Te Tumbo- Totally agree that this is Marquez’s moment to call the shots and I’m pretty sure he will. But the flip side to that is that it might motivate Pac the same way it motivated Dinamita all these years.

“You think post fight tests are actually effective when they know exactly when they’ll be tested? Donaire is the only boxer you can say with nearly complete certainty is clean because he participates in 24/7/365 random testing with VADA.” – True that. I’ve been critical of Donaire’s comp at times but he’s among the sport’s most active titlists and he volunteered to be tested out of competition. It guarantees he’s clean and perhaps set s a precedent for the sport to require out of comp testing.

I like the double header with each guy taking tuneups before they rematch. But tuneups should never be PPV. I won’t pay the robber barons.

Hecdog Im pretty sure everyone gets it by now, you’re in love with Manny Pacquiao, let’s get down to real boxing talk now..geez!

Posted January 10, 2013 6:36 pm

Problem is: If Pac Vs Marquez V does happen and Marquez wins, you can guarantee there will be a 6th fight because they will be both even, Won 2 each and 1 draw.

Posted January 10, 2013 5:54 pm

Marquez doesn’t need a tune up. Neither does Pacquiao. Marquez is already on Top of his game. Pacquiao was as ready as he’s ever going to be last Fight. What Pacquiao needs is a new Trainer and then right into a Rematch with Marquez. He needs to just Box but his Trainer doesn’t teach that very WELL. If he eliminates the tune up he will have the element of surprise on his side and THAT is his BEST shot. Right now he’s just too predictable for Marquez.

Posted January 10, 2013 5:53 pm

…so when is PEDman/Marquez XX scheduled for?

Posted January 10, 2013 3:15 pm

Or…….maybe you should get in the ring? I’m sure that will be more exciting huh?

Posted January 10, 2013 2:10 pm

Tim Bradley vs JMM and Pacman vs R.Guerrero and Mayweather jr vs Canelo and Broner vs Burns and Rios vs Abril 2 rematch needs to happen.

Posted January 10, 2013 12:42 pm

I meant to say Paulie fought a one-handed fight against Cano.

Posted January 10, 2013 11:58 am

“That way Pacquiao vs Marquez V can be a World championship Fight.” I agree, Tark. But I wouldn’t be so hasty to dismiss Paulie Malignaggi. Paulie TKOd the guy who KOd Hatton. Granted, Hatton hadn’t fought in several years before facing Senchenko but I don’t think anyone expected Senchenko to KO him. Then Paulie basically fought a one-handed fight against and beat him by a squeaky SD–Paulie broke his wrist or hand in that fight I think. Anyways, I agree with you, a Pacquiao/Malignaggi matchup would be a great fight. Imagine, what would the world say if Malignaggi beat Pacquiao! As for Marquez/Senchenko, I think Senchenko would do very well against Marquez, mainly because of Senchenko’s height and reach advantage. He doesn’t have the ring smarts that Marquez does, but he does have power. Still, I’d favor Marquez but I don’t think Marquez would take such a matchup. But I’m all for the Pacquaio/Malignaggi matchup. Paulie will fight anyone. Always has.

ideally, i woud like to see Marquez retire with a Cinco de Mayo win over Tim Bradley. otherwise, i hope that for once Marquez drives a hard take-it-or-leave-it “business” deal with Pacquiao* and his equally shameless Bobfather Arum. absolutely EVERYthing from location, weight, ring-size, gloves, and purse-size should overwhelmingly favor Marquez, i.e., the reverse situation of every Marquez v. Pacquiao* matchup above 126lbs. i would particularly like to see Pacquiao* “weight-drained” to 140lbs, which is the dangerous weight-class he conveniently leap-frogged to outspeed and outquick bigger, slower, older welters and middles. For-Once, Pacquiao* should be compelled to compromise and sacrifice for his “greatness”, which is the one element that has been glaringly absent from their nine-year rivalry for which Marquez has been solely responsible. after all, if it had been up to Team Punkuiao*, II, III, and IV would’ve never happened and the “official” and unofficial outcomes of those bouts are the reasons why.

These comments are even funny. Pedquaio? You guys aren’t even witty. This is pathetic.

When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night he checks under the bed for Chuck Norris ……………..

It’s a shame when champions are made of PEDs. PEDcquiao has been doing it for how long now, almost a decade. JMM just started. Both fighters should be ashmed of themselves. Looks like tow midget hulks in the ring.

YOu can be a great FIGHTER TOO ! Like JMM if you take PEDS too. Extra power better knock out punch !

Posted January 10, 2013 3:02 am

sounds like a waste of effort and time ………..

Posted January 10, 2013 1:11 am

So sick of Pacquiao and Marquez, I thought these guys were supposed to be retired already. I’d watch a Pac Bradley rematch because it’s actually somewhat relevant but this is just pointless, especially with the tune-ups first. How old will they be now? 40 something? Boxing must be low on talent if we’re still stuck watching these geezers.

Posted January 10, 2013 1:09 am

The ideal opponent for Pac for an April 20 fight would be Paulie Malignaggi… He has a World Championship at Welterweight and he’s a super light hitter—which will allow Pacquiao’s brain to continue to heal.. They can find another easy guy for Marquez, maybe the guy who just beat Ricky Hatton?

That way Pacquiao vs Marquez V can be a World championship Fight.

Posted January 9, 2013 11:42 pm

Floyd is not reliable enough to make plans around him. I’ll believe he’ll fight Canelo in September when the deal is signed.

Posted January 9, 2013 11:28 pm

Marquez-Pacquiao v doesn’t need a tune up fight. Directly to go collect $200.00

Posted January 9, 2013 10:58 pm

Arum just like to p off Floyd and GBP, staging the fight three weeks before Floyd fight will hurt Floyd’s PPV #, Manny might lower his purse to accommodate Marquez, Bradly, Rios in one cards. Make it happen Bob, I might pray for your soul.

If PEDcquiao suspects JMM of PEDs then take the DARN tests. Oh that’s right, Manny will have to take them too. Everyone knows outside of nut hugging filipinos PEDcquiao is the Lance Armstrong of boxing.

Posted January 9, 2013 10:39 pm

BOB White

JMP Juan Mariod PEDquez it took 4 fights to beat Pac this times on steriods. Viva Mexico !!! FAIL !!!!!

Posted January 9, 2013 9:27 pm

This is just what Boxing needs… PPV tune-ups to build up public interest in a possible Pacquioa-Marquez matchup..

Why didn’t I think of that? … Way to go Bob.

This s@#t is getting old!!! Why do us fans have to suffer cause of blown up EGOS… s u c k s

Posted January 9, 2013 9:17 pm

There’s no way Floyd will fight on September, he fight once a year, he just said that to hype his fight with Guerrero, after the fight Floyd will hide again and show up May 2014.

Posted January 9, 2013 9:15 pm

Marquez vs Maggalani and Pacquiao vs Bradley for tune up
Than you have Marquez vs Pacquiao 5 with both guys holding titles

Posted January 9, 2013 9:14 pm

war jmm

Id tell arum to screw…sure jmm aint gonna see a golden parachute payday like that otherwise…but the way he finished this off was poetic justice…after all the games and crap arum pulled on him…id tell him to screw

Posted January 9, 2013 9:06 pm

Ray Ray

Hope they do fight on same day as Mayweather vs Alvarez, people have seen JMM vs Manny…it wouldn’t rate well at all. Old master Mayweather vs young bull Alvarez, bring that on. Hasn’t Arum got any other guys, what will he do In the future. Golden boy and Mayweathers promo team will leave him 4 dead In the future. Already put on better cards than top rank
