Poorley writen article.

Both Price and Wilder have faced mostly soft competition, but Wilder’s competition is much softer. Both seem to be good dudes with promising power, but step it up already…

“Wilder and Price are both big hitters, although Wilder seems to be the stronger puncher and has more hand speed as well as explosiveness… rice, 29, is taking the slow trip up to the top and has been facing soft opposition since he turned pro three years ago. Sadly, Harrison is actually a step up for Price.” — The author is drinking cool aid. Price has KOs over far better comp than Wilder. Anyone can KTFO drunken bums and tomato cans and look good doing it. Did he really say Price is the one facing soft comp?

The thing is, Wilder has been fed nothing but muppets. David Price has actually been fighting better opponents and he hasnt even stepped out of domestic-class yet. Wilder will be a good sparing partner for Harrison ….. but Wilder will get more benefit. the author of this article, is letting himself get carried away by the hype. Harrison was a flop in the pro’s but hyping up Wilder is way, way premature. the author needs to take a step back, take a deep breath and try to look at things a little more objectively. Wilder is a prospect right now …. nothing more, nothing less.

Audley is a failed project in all respects, if there is anything to learn its until you meet the big boys you cannot measure a boxers capabilities and potential no matter how many fighters they KO. Just look at Tye Fields 18 fights all by tko/ko then gets ko’d admittedly he avenged that one but then went on for another 24 until he meets a good gate keeper and goodnight Vienna.

Wilder is a project in the making but the opposition moving up is streets ahead of him indeed a man not far behind I believe even now would test him, Richard Towers, meet him and it may be worth talking about, Price would eat him alive.

and it will should he ever = and it will SHOW should he ever ……..

The guy is married and has a beautiful family – He is not really really hungry and it will should he ever fight a live body that a similar size and age as he is.

Posted August 19, 2012 4:35 pm

wilder and price are the ones that should be fighting against each other

Posted August 19, 2012 2:30 pm

Is the best Wilder can do is get a job as a sparring partner for 3 weeks? I guess that supplements his income at Whataburger.

PitBull Petrill

I would like to hear more about Bryant Jennings than this waste of an Olympian.

What a strange article. I think Deontay Wilder is an exciting prospect that is very athletic and exciting. But to say that he has fought better opposition than Price is silly. Who has he fought? Many fighters could have his record if they were matched against lower opposition like he has. Id go with Price for power. Look at his knockout of Tom Dallas… he’s a big hitter! Wilder is very athletic though. I wonder if he does any of the Olympic lifts in his training

Wilder’s best win is a boxrec-ranked boxer at spot #246  – what the heck is wrong with Wilder fighting such below tomato-cans?

Harry C

Price, slow trip to the top?
British Champion in 13 fights.

Wilder is undoubtly a hot prospect, as is Price, but Price is much closer to challenging for a serious title than Wilder due to the poor quality Wilder has been matched with despite having more fights

I would like to see Wilder fight someone like Timur Ibragimov or Dominic Gunn next over 10 and see how he handles the slight increase in quality of opposition.

Corner man

Go easy on him Deontay we wanna see Price spark him out.

Flash Knock Down

Let me start out by saying both fighters are pure garbage. Wilder is going to spar, spar, spar a 40 year old no body and this is worth printing. Guys spar different fighters all the time and you never hear about it why is this important. Wilder won a bronze medal in the olympics four years ago and he has yet to fight anyone who will fight back. I am going to say it hear and now Wilder will never be anything in boxing he has gone back wards because he has not fought guys that would push him. I can tell you this no one will be allowed in the gym when these two spar because they don’t want anyone to see how bad both fighters are . I will say this as bad as Wilder is Harrison is worse and Wilder will knock out Harrison in sparring. Please no more press for Wilder until he fights a real fighter.

Smart move by Fraudley.

Flash Knock Down

Lol this is not worth printing Wilder is nothing and the guy he is sparring is nothing. I can tell you this no one will be allowed to be with in 20 miles of the gym they are sparring in. This is what boxing has come to be every one is scared of everyone. Harrison is going to get knocked out by Wilder if they really spar now if they hold Wilder back then it wont be real sparring it will only be to see where Harrison is really at which is no where.

No Top 15 fighters are Scared of Wilder why woulda anyone be afraid of him He hasn’t even beat a top 50 fighter yet I’ll bet a million $$$ Tomasz adamek can even have a 24-0 Ko record fighting the same fighters as Wilder and Adamek can’t ko any of the top HW’s

Posted August 18, 2012 5:16 pm

Not sure why this is news. Aren’t boxers supposed to spar each other? Is the next article: “Wilder Goes Running.”

Posted August 18, 2012 5:03 pm

mr rubes

No i dont agree. Harrison is above the level of wilder and them fighting would be a good step up for him

Posted August 18, 2012 4:14 pm

Take a hard look at Wider – look into his eyes – One sees a great athlete NOT a fighter.

Posted August 18, 2012 3:22 pm

WHY is Wilder sparring with Harrison news?? Shouldn’t an announcement that Wilder’s next opponent will be a warm body (someone who comes to fight) his size be the real news???

Posted August 18, 2012 3:20 pm

mr rubes

Wilder is our best prospect but would loose to harrison. US heavys are a joke. I really like all the british heavys and think they are the future

Posted August 18, 2012 3:12 pm

Wow, what a surprise….. – he should fight with him and boxers rated above. Wilder is a nice fellow but his wiskers are very poor.

Posted August 18, 2012 3:08 pm

I think a real fight between the two guys would be really good and an intresting match up. however who gives a flying fu#k if they are to spar for a couple of weeks
