Daniel has the beat…

I had Guerrero going into the fight… But facts are facts.

Thumb strikes lol the things your crybabys come up with, go watch MMA so you can tapout instead of making excuses everytime someone u didn’t want to win wins.

Posted November 30, 2012 12:13 am

Thumb strikes won the fight for Robert.. Along with Greco Roman Wrestling.. You need a referee who is real friendly for that to fly.

Berto is tuff but lacks defense

Were the knockdowns scored caused by butts too buttface? Your foil helmet must be made from the cheap stuff from the .99 cent store. You paranoid theories are getting waaaay out there, scary stuff right there…

Posted November 28, 2012 11:49 pm

Hey Schnozz… You posted a couple pictures of Guerrero landing legal blows on a half blinded Berto.. Whoop Dee Do!! That doesn’t prove those eyes weren’t closed by thumb strikes.. As for your other question: Guerrero doesn’t have that damage because Berto didn’t butt him. Berto did get one good thumb strike in though — in retaliation — and that damaged Guerrero’s eye.

The Prince

Peej – Your post is correct. Berto saw how Broner is able to use the shoulder roll defense, and thought he could do it too. Big mistake. Floyd is the master of the shoulder roll defense and Guerrero won’t be able to penetrate it. More importantly, if it appears that Guerrero can penetrate it, then Floyd will adjust and use another defensive tactic that will work. That’s what people don’t get about Floyd Mayweather. The guy is always thinking and changing his tactics depending on how the opponent is coming at him. He never sticks to a set style of boxing for better or worst. He does what it takes to win. To beat Floyd Mayweather, you must out-think Floyd Mayweather, and the guy is a genius in the ring.

Where’s the bumps and cuts on Robert’s head from all the butting, troll?

Posted November 28, 2012 6:05 pm

Thanks for these photos Enema Schnozzle Nose… They prove my point that Berto’s eyes were horrendously swollen, and the rest of his face was hardley swollen at all… Something an unbiased observer can readily see. Thanks for the backup.

Berto’s defense is bad but Robert is not a great offensive fighter…or a good defender… You’ll note the damage and massive swelling was all around Berto’s eye’s — and not to his nose, jaw, cheeks, or lips where you get marked from a great puncher.. A lot of Berto’s eye swelling came from effective thumb strikes.. Once you limit your opponent’s vision you’re throwing water on his offense and defense. Guerrero is a very clever and strategic fighter. I wouldn’t say he’s an outstandingly skillful boxer, but in his mind he has a job to do and he’s not concerned about niceties …. Lou Moret played a major role in this result being one-sided. It would have been closer and much less of a foul-fest if he took a few points from each fighter early on. You have ZERO credibility if you continue to issure a 1,000 warnings and let freaky stuff happen while you have your thumb up your butt.

Posted November 28, 2012 3:27 pm

Bertos problem is that he’s always had bad defence and now that he’s fighting better opponents his defense is exposed so he tried something new and it failed and he had his arse handed to him. He did well when he was himself. Bertos always had an awesome uppercut. Hell he chopped down a Mexican guy with a sweet upper. But Guerrero proved to be stronger, bigger and he followed his fight plan and it was a better plan than what Berto had. End of Story.

Posted November 28, 2012 1:55 pm

Bertos eyes were shut by punches to the face for anyone to say that he was headbutting him in the eyes is a complete moron. What fighter have you not seen tug hear and there and pullin. Guerrero was better than Berto that’s it. Anyone that complains about the fight has a giant clitorous.

“Floyd wants to fight Guerrero because he’s the easiest guy to fight while he waits for a fight with Pac..” Is this the real Tark saying this? “While he waits for a fight with Pac?” Waits? Floyd hasn’t waited for anything. Avoided, maybe. Delayed, maybe. Ignored, maybe. Disregarded, maybe. Disrespected, maybe. But Floyd has never waited for Manny Pacquiao.

Posted November 28, 2012 11:36 am

It’s Me, Ernie

Mayflower has no intention to fight Pacman, unless of course Manny loses a limb or the like. Even his BFF Fitty got sick of it.

Posted November 28, 2012 10:07 am

Floyd wants to fight Guerrero because he’s the easiest guy to fight while he waits for a fight with Pac.. Guerrero is an easy target for everything. Floyd’s goal is to get the fight signed before Pac and JMM fight takes place.. That way he can tune-up with another southpaw before he meets Pac.

Captain Captain ! I can’t see – Andre Berto

Posted November 28, 2012 1:13 am

Staying close to Maywesther is not the way to fight Mayweather. Floyd is a master in side fighter with a masterful defense. That wont work. Cotto made it somewhat competitive but he still clearly lost. So are folks here saying Guerrero could beat Cotto at 147? I really doubt that. And lets not forget Floyd fought Cotto at 154 not 147. Guerrero would be beat easily by Floyd if Floyd decides to fight again. Sorry but comparing Bertos fighting style which he has no clue how to use cause he has never used it before and saying since Guerrero was able to bust Berto up means nothing. Berto was dumb for fighting that way.

Posted November 28, 2012 12:36 am

Not feeling the ghost…. no defense.

Posted November 28, 2012 12:18 am

El. Chile Grande

Guerrero is a welter weight ,” 147 lbs ” not a Jr.middle weight “154 lbs ” why in the hell would he fight Canelo ,,dumb morons that post this …

Posted November 27, 2012 11:49 pm

If there is any sense of compassion left in the world today please do not let this guy step in the ring with Canelo.

Posted November 27, 2012 11:14 pm

I totally agree. Floyd is a phenomenal athlete and consummate boxer. As you saw with Berto, Guerrero threw punches over the top of the sholder roll.

Posted November 27, 2012 10:44 pm

Guerrero can hang with, and potentially knock out Mayweather jr. Cotto showed that Mayweather is hittable, (Guerrero is sharper than cotto). Guerrero can out tough Floyd in the end of it all. Mayweather has to hope contemporaily that his “mystic” prevails and has the pysch affect before the first punch is thrown, otherwise he,s vulnerable.

Public Enemy.. Well said, i hope he does make the big money bud. Although mayweather might be a stretch. Forgot about his wifes illness

Posted November 27, 2012 10:25 pm

tacoBender- I can only speak from personal experience but, as it is in my case, I suspect others might be put off by the incredible amount of hype put out there by his promotional machine more than by Guerrero himself. Guerrero seems like a nice enough guy and he’s certainly a solid professional fighter, if not a qualified elite yet. But his people are trying to sell him like the next De La Hoya, a legitimate 6 division champion, and his resume is far from that. At this stage in his career DLH had fought Chavez, Trinidad, Camacho, Quartey, Withaker, and a bunch more. Guerrero has fought Berto. If his promo team lightens up on the bs I’m sure a lot of people will lighten up on Guerrero.

the great mexican beat down Berto, he needs to stop fighting the great mexicans he can’t hang with them

Posted November 27, 2012 9:36 pm

Public Enemy

Guerro fought a togh gritty fight and beat Berto.. let the fkn guy go make some real money before you all try and throw him to the wolves like they did to Josesito Lopez.. for Gods sake this Guys wife has cancer and this is probably the biggest shot he’ll get at some huge Money fights..

Posted November 27, 2012 9:32 pm

EL.” Chili ” Flaco

why would any one mention of Guerrero fighting at 154 lbs ..that’s stupid ,,give him a chance to make his mark at 147 lbs ..

Btw, there should be absolutely NO talk whatsoever of Guerrero at 154lbs, which would be no more legitimate than Josesito Lopez moving to 154lbs to challenge Canelo: a mismatch. besides, plenty of credible and profitable competition between 140lbs-147lbs for Guerrero to choose from. only those who can’t stand seeing the emergence of another “Mexican superstar” are anxious to watch Guerrero try his luck at 154lbs. the very same posters who condemned Alvarez for taking advantage of the smaller Lopez, i.e., whatever angle discredits the “Mexican” more.

including “Mexican” in the title of an article will invariably trigger an infestation of fleas on ESB message boards along with shrill and hysterical comparisons between the “Mexican-American” and the Italian mafia(?!?). anyway, Guerrero DOES have a Cali following going all the way back to his days with Goosen and IS “Mexican-American” as evidenced by the Mexican flag being waved in his corner. not to mention the veterano “lowrider guy” image of his jefito/trainer. that is ollld-school Cali-cholo right there. also, even though Ontario is no boxing hot-bed a sold-out house showed-up to watch the smaller(?) Guerrero upset the dangerous Berto. as a result, Guerrero has become a legitimate draw and top-echelon fighter on the level of Rios but not a $uper$tar on the level of Tyson, DLH, or Mayweather. a win v. the likes of Pacquiao*, Bradley, or Marquez would put him on the threshold. wins v. 2/3 of those names would seal it. a matchup v. Mayweather would stop his progress in its tracks. however, NObody should or can blame “Money” for making himself available to a very public challenge. after all, Floyd doesn’t have to actively cherrypick while the cherries continue to fall in his lap. only Punkuiao* continues to desperately cling to Arum’s balls to avoid the same fate as Marquez, Hatton, Mosley, and Ortiz. otherwise, i’ve always posted and believed that matchup to be as much a mismatch in Floyd’s favor as well.

Ghost is damn smart fighter and it was very smart to push Berto up against the ropes and fight in the phone booth. He Ghost is always a man of his word. Now you can count him in the top 10 he has proved him self again.
Look forward to what and where this division goes with him now in it!

It’s Me, Ernie

I am a fan of Guerrero, but I am sure Canelo with his youth, speed, size and power is the top dog @ 54, this includes the played out, aging Mayflower.

Guerreo is a joke holds n hits headbuts hits after the bell then has the balls to thank the lord. I wanna see josisito lopez ko his ass! If mayweather picks guerrero it will be a crime to the sport.

Posted November 27, 2012 7:00 pm

This is gonna be a good test for Money May(the best p4p boxer in the world) due to the Ghost’s on your face style of boxing. if Mayweather can KO this guy, then I would say that he could end PAC MAN’S career…but until then, the jury is still out….by the way, why do SOME people hate Guerrero so much??? He does his job and goes home.. what’s to hate??? DANG..just sayin’

Posted November 27, 2012 7:00 pm

I say guerrero vs josisito lopez thats a good fight. If mayweather fights guerrero it will be a shame to boxing. Guerreros a dirty fighter holds n hits then praises god. What a sham.

This is exactly what makes me tune out Robert Guerrero: His promotional team always trying to push him down our throats. We saw the fight, he did very well, he’s a likable guy with a great story, he’s earned a bigger fight. I’m fine with all that. But his team now feels compelled to send out a weekly email, post 100 articles declaring him the second coming of Jesus Christ and basically try to undo all the work he does in the ring by being annoying and treating real boxing fans like we’re fools. Do yourselves a favor: do less talking in the media and let Robert do his talking in the ring.

Posted November 27, 2012 6:51 pm

Yes Robert’s clearly a B level fighter. Berto is his biggest win and I credit Berto with Robert’s win just as much as I do Robert. Robert is going to lose lopsided decisions and get KO’d by A level and elite fighters. He’s slow, sloppy, gets hit a lot, and has underwhelming power. One fight does not make anyone great.

Posted November 27, 2012 6:50 pm

A B level fighter hmmm
4 time world champion-B level fighter-right!!!

Posted November 27, 2012 6:14 pm

A B level fighter

Posted November 27, 2012 6:11 pm

Andre and is a good fighter but he clearly a B level fighter. I’ll say the same thing about Robert too. The hype train is rolling for Robert and now everyone is herlding him as something special. He’s not. A good boxer for sure but he’s far from the A level group and even further from the elite level. Forget Mayweather that fight is a joke.

Posted November 27, 2012 5:57 pm

let him fight. he can control that to some extent. the same cannot be said for his heritage. leave him be, as he seems like the type who will fight for everyone.

Posted November 27, 2012 4:57 pm

This is like the Italians being proud of the Mafia. This guy does not belong in the boxing ring. He makes Hopkins look like a saint.

Posted November 27, 2012 4:54 pm

The Mexican Ghost put a beating on the shadow Berto, two Mexicans Ortiz an Guerrero gave berto a run away slave lashing

Posted November 27, 2012 4:36 pm

Berto knows who the ghost is he took a slave lashing from the great Mexican boxer

Posted November 27, 2012 4:32 pm

This has to be a joke.

Posted November 27, 2012 4:32 pm

Berto was overrated from the git-go and when a ham & egger like this so called “Ghost” can dominate him he’s been exposed to the max.

Posted November 27, 2012 4:31 pm

Proud African

This so-called ‘superstar’ will slip into obscurity once Mayweather is done with him.
