less than one million buys

We are hearing rumors that Saturday’s Mayweather-Guerrero fight is projected to have less than one million buys, which would translate to a big financial loss for Showtime with Floyd’s astronomical 30 million+ guarantee. Often when a PPV bombs no official numbers are released, so we’ll see if Showtime issues a press release. In the meantime, Showtime Sports executive vice president and general manager Stephen Espinoza and Showtime Sports Vice President Communications Chris DeBlasio have been hitting the twittersphere to do spin control while neither confirming or denying.

Rumor is that Mayweather’s PPV numbers were under 1 million putting Showtime in trouble.

Hidalgo – your defense and footwork is bad, your jab is not bad but you telegraph your punches. I think I figured you out but you’re not too bad.

“just when did Snr get a chance for a pint.” Admit it Happyboy, you love sparring with me. But in answer to your question, I dunno. He was slurring and taking so long to put his sentences together, I figured he had already been celebrating. It wasn’t an insult. But like I said, lucky Ruben Guerrero hadn’t pressed Sr. too much otherwise he’d be having Robert help him up off the floor.

Hidalgo – this is straight after the fight, just when did Snr get a chance for a pint. Ya a looney!

I think Sr. had one too many drinks. It’s obvious his mind was on other activities as well.

“all you white boys hate on ” Anything you say, Kunta Kinte.

On Sr.’s comments about Ruben Guerrero–Joy would knock him out so fast, Ruben would wish he hadn’t opened his mouth. One thing about Floyd Mayweather Sr., the man stays in fine physical condition. But he did say something which really made my ears perk up: “He (Floyd) fought the right fight.” Sr. also said “Floyd did what he wanted to…” I thought I detected a bit of friction in Floyd’s corner for a couple of rounds. Floyd was kind of being a little belligerent–this ain’t a criticism–just an observation. But yeah, Floyd fought the “right fight.” He fought safe. Just like I said he did.

SR. looks like a sleestack from land of the lost…..
