It’s Me, Ernie

I guess the answer is no one…

It’s Me, Ernie

Happyboy knows what’s shakin.
More than normal turmoil in Mike’s life at the time, and I agree it was the beginning of the end for him. King and Mike’s wife were doing a number on Mike’s people. Bill Cayton, Jimmy Jacobs and Kevin Rooney were all out of the picture, not to forget Cus. Aaron Snowell and the other fools had no idea how to handle Mike during a fight. Like Rooney said, he knew it was over once Mike stepped onto the ring, no scowl, not loose and ready to fight. If Mike was still with Rooney, he would have been in shape and would be given the CORRECT advice before and during the fight.

On Buster’s behalf, it was no fluke that night. He was determined to perform and dedicate the fight to his recently deceased mother. He took a hell of a shot, picked himself up and took care of business, great performance…

Was Kevin Rooney in hs corner against Buster, I don’t think so. Mike Tyson downwards spiral started when he left Kevin Rooney out of his corner and had Don King as his promoter and Robin Givens as a wife. Mike Tyson was fast and powerful young stallion, who was dedicated to his craft and was a boxing historian. The loss of Cus and his manager were the beginning of the end.

The only thing different between the 19-year-old Tyson who barely made it past Quick Tillis and the 23-year-old Tyson who fought Buster Douglas was the 23 year old Tyson had vastly more pro experience, and skill… He needed it to survive a savage beating for 10 rounds.

It’s tough for a guy who’s 5’10” X 220 to fight guys 6/7″ and 6’8″ X 245 who are great boxers and punchers… That’s why Tyson turned the K Bros down … Very easily understood of you watch Mike’s fights with Buster Douglas and Lennox Lewis… Except for one good punch that got through on Douglas—not enough to slow Buster Down—Tyson couldn’t do a thing… Looked a little like Adrien Broner vs Gavin Rees except Tyson didn’t throw as many punches as Rees and didn’t win as many rounds.

The nineteen year old Catskill Thunder would have easily flattened the Klitschko sisters of any age. Read it, learn it, live it.

Yep , it’s true about Mike . When asked why he was not looking to fight the K-Brothers , Tyson’s his answer was : ” They’re too big , you fight them ” !

Wlad will just be taking care of business this weekend, on his way to breaking more records, collecting big pay days and entertaining the adoring fans in Germany. Business as usual.

Posted May 1, 2013 9:57 pm

Swine I think you count all 6 pigfockker dialects of the Imbecile Island as separate lancuages?

Posted May 1, 2013 7:26 pm

Wladimir can sell out arenas fighting his friends and associates… Maybe he’ll fight Wilder next… After all, Deontay is 28-0 like these last 2 guys Wladimir fought.. DW just finished off a big name title challenger to David Haye in the time it takes to mix a drink. And he was also a highly paid sparring partner for Wladimir, just like this Pinyeta guy.

I wonder what Kubrat Pulev thinks of all the opportunities he’s getting?

Posted May 1, 2013 6:10 pm

We should be discussing any other opponent than this sparring partner.. All we need is some
Footage of their sessions in the gym and we can skip this inept opponent.. Nice of Wlad to give ANOTHER ex sparring partner a payday… But it does not make for good comp!!

Fish Eyes

Abrahams.. Yup.. Wlad might well beat Tyson, but I doubt it would be in the first round.

Posted May 1, 2013 3:45 pm

Vitali would put a brutal beat down on the bully

Posted May 1, 2013 3:42 pm

KO 1 is extreme. Way I see it, Tyson starts fast, eats a few jabs, thinks ‘f’ck this guys mean’ maybe try’s some biting, then wlad closes it off around round 7

Posted May 1, 2013 3:42 pm

‘Prime’ Tyson only fought 80s bums. It was a weak era

Posted May 1, 2013 3:40 pm

It’s Me, Ernie

Where’s the record then?

Posted May 1, 2013 3:38 pm

Tyson was on record in the early 00s saying he wanted nothing of Klitschko. Imagine what Vitali would have done with him after what he did to his conquered Williams. Would have been good to see the bully get his just dessert at The Hands of Dr Ironfist

The Ticket Guy

Want tickets? Too bad, sold out in record time for this one! Wlad is a ticket selling machine!

It’s just another “Tarkism”…

It’s Me, Ernie

Iron Mike never said such a thing…

Posted May 1, 2013 3:12 pm

Styles make fights and Tyson is the kind that Klitschko loves. He would walk right into the jab and get KTFO

Posted May 1, 2013 3:03 pm

Tyson was a bully, he was a myth. He would not fight Klitschko when he had the chance. He would never fight Klitschko. He is tayler made for Klitschko, short and come forward. Tyson fans always talk about his ‘prime’ convenient his ‘prime’ was when he was winning. Wlad would you with him like all the rest. Prime Wlad is unbeaten and in beatable, especially by a midget with dwarf arms like Tyson. Tyson would get hit by Wlads ATG jab and would do his folding routine like against Willams.

Posted May 1, 2013 3:02 pm

Hey Ernie Enema Schnozzled Feckle Face…. I’m not making anything up. Ask Mike Tyson if you don’t believe me. Mike will admit it. He ruled out the Klitschkos as opponents and took many years to finally fight Lewis after bragging that he would kick Lewis’s ass all over Hell and back. Mike refused 25 million dollars for a rematch with Lewis — who BTW is older than Tyson — as are Buster Douglas and Evander Holyfield.

Should be a rout, seen Pineta on you tube. hope wlad box’s in the USA again.

Posted May 1, 2013 10:36 am

Wlad is fighting ANOTHER unranked sparring partner with NO resume at HW thats why you are discussing Iron Mike Tyson who unifed the divisions at a YOUNG age and was stopping the likes of Spinks and Holmes… Who is Pianeta? another NOBODY who is part of a legacy that Wlad is sadly diluting fight by fight at this point…

Posted May 1, 2013 10:08 am

What have I done in my useless life Jason. Probably stick your sister and a few of your girlfriends. It was stupid of WK to throw that amount of punches a round. He ain’t no WW and that’s why he has those losses to purrity and Brewster. Does he throw that many punches now? Nope. He got wise

Posted May 1, 2013 8:03 am

Richard Bulger

Tyson would be KO’d by Wladimir and Vitali. Mike had trouble with tall fighters. Mitch Green gave him fits for the entire fight. Lewis knocked him out. Wlad would do the same thing to Tyson, because Tyson’s arms are just not long enough………..Now on to Pianota, I am watching this fight. Another Virgin undefeated victim for Wlad. Then after this one Wilder will be next as a Virgin undefeated victim. Also Pulev and Povetkin. Povetkin will be an easy win for Wlad, just ask Teddy Atlas. Wilder may be the only one to give Wlad a test since he is as tall and has long reach and is young and full of piss and vinegar. But he will be stupid and Wlad will out box his ass and set him up for the TKO. I say it. Yes, I say it!!

It will help Pianeta if the ref counts slow

Posted April 30, 2013 8:04 pm

When WK lost to purrity and Brewster he was an offensive machine. Over 100 punches a round unheard of for a dude his size and very stupid.

Posted April 30, 2013 6:52 pm

Knock him out early Wladimir!!!

Posted April 30, 2013 6:01 pm

Tyson refused to fight the Klitschko Bros… At an age where Tyson was younger than the Bros are now Mike said, “They’re too big and strong for me.” … It took Tyson several years to agree to a Lennox Lewis fight, and that’s after years of bragging that “I’ll put my fist right through Lewis’s brain.” and “I’ll eat your children.”

Lewis… “Tyson talks a good fight. He said he’ll eat my kids.”

Lampley… “Mike will starve… From my knowledge you don’t have any.”

As the Lewis-Vitali rematch was being discussed Tyson was offered 25-million to fight Lewis again.. “NO” Mike said, “That’s a lot of money but I don’t want to get beaten up again.” … What? All Mike would have had to do was answer the bell for the first round like Walcott did in his rematch with Marciano. I think old Jersey Joe planned an early exit and picked up his check — Tyson could have done the same.

Crown Prince of Whales

Wlad has been pretty dominant, barring a few miscues. That being said, I just want him to go away. He’s like the Ivan Calderon of the heavies. If you’ve seen one round you’ve seen them all.

Stay classy, ESB. I will adjudicate any further spelling controversies, should they arise. I have an advance degree in Pig Latin from Cambridge University.

Hey Swine , how many foreign languages have you mastered , you so emboldened to open your trap about someone’s spelling. Hmm?

Posted April 30, 2013 5:04 pm

Wladimir punishes and knocks them cold. If he isn’t trying to hurt them like Tyson where did over 50 koes come from? He does it in an intelligent way. Tyson lost to Kevin McBride and Danny Williams by stoppage. He got koed NY the blown up lightheavy Holyfield. Lewis had the worst chin of any in history. He is the only to be koed twice with one single shot. Wlad has never been out cold on the canvas. Marciano fought in B/W for fks sake….that was a long time ago. Leave it be. If you want Wlad to go swinging for the fences and give his opponent the best chance to beat him….that would make him the stupidest HW champ in history. Who is there too fight? The mighty Hayes and Arreola’s? Haye had his shot and wet the canvas. The biggest threat to Wladimir losing those belts is either not training at ALL or retirement.

Paper loss? Wtf?

I too am a great Klitschko fan, but I know how to respect the sport most of us love. That said, to call Rocky a bum or midget says more about you than anyone else.

Eleanore the Hag- How do you think Marciano would do against the 80’s 90’s hw? Or today’s hw? I appreciate messaging you and talking boxing with someone so wise! Bless you!

Posted April 30, 2013 3:58 pm

KId Blast

Rocky “the Brockton Blockbuster” Marciano finished with a perfect 49-0 with 43 KOs. To define Rocky Marciano’s career, one only needs to know 49-0. That is it. Forty-nine fights, forty-nine wins. No defeats; I repeat, no defeats. He did what he had to do against all the leading opponents of his era: tough guys like Lastarza, Harry “Kid” Matthews, Carmine Vingo, Rex Layne, Charles, Moore, Walcott, and an aging Louis. Who can argue with his dedication, toughness, ability to impose his will, and ultimate success? He was a relentless brawler who just kept coming, boring in and hurting his opponents with shots to every exposed part of their bodies until they broke down, at which point he would close matters decisively. His record is not open to debate. He did everything he had to do at the time he had to do it, and he did it with a winning percentage of 100 percent!

“I am comfortably fixed, and I am not afraid of the future. No man can say what he will do in the future, but barring poverty, the ring has seen the last of me.”—Rocky Marciano

Eleanore the Hag

Posted April 30, 2013 3:50 pm

Eleanore the Hag

Yes. He was something to behold. Fought mostly out of Proividence, RI

He would break his opponents down by hitting them on their shoulders, arms, body and, of course, on their head. At some point they could no longer raise their hands and he would then cap them. He did that to Roland LaSartza in thier second fight and preyty much ruined Roland’s career. He was an incoming monster who kept punching. He also had a chin Al Dente and was built along the lines of a billy goat.

There will only be one Marciano.

@Eleanore the Hag – are u serious? wow that is so cool! They say Marciano was a beast back in the days!

Kids today are so funny. Old school is anything that existed before they started paying attention. In other words, nearly the entirety of human history.

Posted April 30, 2013 3:41 pm

Sir Pugglesworth

Jab, jab, punishing right hand down the middle. Rinse and repeat. The only question is: will the Pinata make it to the final bell or will Wlad bust it open and scatter candy all over the ring before that?

Posted April 30, 2013 3:40 pm

Eleanore the Hag

murderman, being a hag and all, if those were old school, I must be a fossil. Hell, I was ringside for Louis-Marciano. That was OLD SCHOOL

I agree w Mike Tyson! I miss the old school late 80’s early 90’s hw. They were warriors! These new hw are scared of they own shadow! Damn i miss Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe, Holmes! etc…

Posted April 30, 2013 3:15 pm

Mike Tyson was just on HowardStern Monday and said when I fought my intentions were to inflict as much pain to win a fight todays heavyweights do not want to inflict pain its like they have a verbal contract and thats why the division is so boring.
